Well Alton Towers is hosting an adrenaline week this week, which I will be attending on Saturday and Sunday! According the website, Alton will also be opening its gates for February Half Term, but without the full line up. Details on the "We love Winter" page on the Alton Website.

I know the rides are very different and have different methods used in scaring people but these are the two coasters that I always see people comparing so I thought I would start a poll. Which coaster do you feel is more intimidating/scary?

Saw Alive : New for 2010

So everyone who has heard the end of night announcement being played will have heard jigsaw's latest speech park wide, stating the games are not over, and for 2010 there will be a new game for us to play and for us to return if we dare.

What do you make of this? I guess it could mean we may see some new amendments to Saw over closed season for the new year, which would fit in with Jigsaw describing a new game for the new year. I guess we will find out more soon but sounds pretty exciting, after-all it must mean somthing!

OK, so I'll start - road signs. Everywhere I go, I see road signs that are twisted, wonky, fading or just not lit up well. And some are badly positioned! A lot of them definately need to be replaced.

Its that time again and we are arranging our first meetup of the year at Thorpe Park!

New for 2010 we see the arrival of SAW - Alive, a live action horror maze opening on the old Thorpe Bele.

Thorpe Park officially opens its gates on Thursday 18th March, however due to being a week/schoolday we will be holding the meet on the first official week end.

ADVICE: We strongly advise you to eat before 1pm so there are no hold-ups throughout the day which means the group will be able to enjoy the rides!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of the team!

I thought this might be a very interesting topic to set up. There's always the whole 'idea' shall we call it that Thorpe Park is chav-ville, and this is something many members say (me being one of them). But, whenever you ask anyone what they call a chav, people tend to have differing opinions. So, what is YOUR definition of a chav? This way, not only will we see what people think about chavs, but know what people are going on about when they say 'chav'.

It's likely this topic will also diverge into general stuff about chavs, so yeah, enjoy.

Today Thorpe Park confirmed it will be holding an Annual Pass day on Sunday 14th March 2010, this will give annual pass holders an exclusive opportunity to experience Saw Alive, the brand new live horror maze opening on the Thorpe Belle this year.

Thorpe Park are expected to release more details soon.

for me its...120min for stealth
120min for Colossus
loggers leap COMPLETELY filled up
and the asylum had an over 2 hour wait.

Very good ride from thorpe but not sure as you also have vortex which can be seen as the same rides just one is bigger. I know they are very different but to the average person looking on they may see rush or vortex as a bit pontless, oh well just less queing for me!!

I never ever go on Pirates 4D when I'm there it must be the worst thing in the park.
The glasses you put on you can't really see out of them, Its a waste of time I think.

I can't seem to find a thread for the website, so I though I'd start one.

Just wondering, does the 'Rides Currently Unavaliable' widget actually work? I have never seen any rides listed here, even when I know for a fact that they're down.
Also, does the website go down perodically for additions or randomly due to difficulties? Thanks

Your Worst Day At Thorpe Park!

Talk about things that happened on your worst ever day at Thorpe Park. (If you've had one )

I'll start off:
It was 2 years ago, and I went with some friends and family. It was a hot day, and we spent around 45mins queueing for Loggers Leap. Then, when we were standing in the loading bay, it broke down. Ride hosts told us to wait in the queue, but after 30mins we had had enough. As soon as we got to the BushBBQ for lunch, it started working again . After lunch we went to Tidal Wave. Queued up for 1 hour 30 mins, and then it broke down. (in a 2 hour queue). After 10 minutes, we were given passes to go straight on when it opened again. But it didn't open again that day, so we didn't get to use them. Just when you think it couldn't get much worse, my mate and I went on Stealth, and he had his brand new phone in his pocket. When we returned to the station, his pocket was empty....
Now we can look back and laugh , what a terrible day!

I feel that Oblivion is loosing it's magic!! It's way to short. Yeah it brakes at the top and goes into a hole vertically but compared to the new rides of today it is nothing. I would like to compare it with Project Dylan (2009 Thorpe Coaster). I would feel there would be no comparison!

Theme Park Bans Riders Riding with Arms in the air

I have now lost ALL respect I once had for Thorpe Park, this is just ridiculous. Hopefully it is just some sort of PR stunt and isn't actually happening but I for one don't see how they can stop people putting there hands in the air.

Tomorrow I will be riding with my hands firmly placed in the air, not to try and be a rule breaker but as it's something that the majority of people do and have been doing at theme parks for years and years.

Air first opened in 2002 (That WAS air right), and during construction known as SW5. It was the first B&M Flying Coaster ever built, and was recieved as either a slow or boring ride, or just pure brilliance. It may look Slow and boring (due to height and noise restriction), but looks can be very decieving.

Know all enthusiasts of Thorpe Park should know the parks themed area however the general public don't and from what I'm seeing recently from the park it appears that they are starting to look more at theming to improve the parks quality and experience which is great and possibly in the future we can hope that they will pay much more attention to theming and they could more distincitvely distinguish the areas and there theming which would make the park great.

What are your thoughts on this?
