Coasters are prizes each company has a FB page/group that theme parks join, then the company (e.g. GCI) says for example "we will be building 3 woodies in the UK before 2018, *tag UK parks* first three to respond yes will get them."
    Then in the comments section:
Merlin: "on behalf of all our parks, no."
Blackpool: "pfft new woodies no thanks"
Flamingo Land: "as long as we can advertise it as a Zamperla, yes"
GCI: "brill, 2 left guys hurry up!"
Drayton: "fine why not. We're in!"
GCI: "we'll make sure it's Thomas themed for you"
    Drayton: "legends!"
Oakwood: "oooo yes please our storage is getting nice and cramped could do with some more."
GCI: "that's it they're all gone! Flamingo Land, Drayton Manor and Oakwood you will be contacted shortly about delivery dates"
And that's how the process of roller coaster sales goes in modern day

Vampire - so true. That station, and tunnels into it scared the crap out of me when I was younger (in the 90s ). It's still rather imposing now to be honest

Never been on a coaster outside of the UK (that's an adventure for next summer!), but still:
1)Nemesis: undeniably amazing, super fast, a classic, the only coaster to still somewhat frighten me. Theming is fantastic and only looks better with age though I miss the rivers of blood. Love the soundtrack and the way it interacts with it's landscape.
2)The Smiler: Kind of a love/hate ride I've noticed but I really love it, theme is very imposing, very disorientating, well thought out, not overly intense but very very fun! Genuinely can't stop laughing and smiling when I come off!
3)Stealth: not ashamed to admit I've ridden this almost 40 times this year alone! :') fave ride at Thorpe and since I live pretty close by I re-ride a LOT! Super fast, intense, good views from the top, overall very thrilling!
4)Oblivion: nothing beats the feeling of suddenly dropping over that edge! Very imposing, builds excellent tension, car released from the top at varied times, never seems to have too bad a queue- very re-rideable!
5)THE SWARM: first drop is fantastic (especially at the very back or forward facing seat 5), backwards rows are very intense, forwards rows show some excellent near misses so it's win win really. Very smooth, nice elements such as fire effect and water squirting from the lake. The theming is elaborate and thorough.
6)Colossus: intense and forceful, excellent airtime in places, feels so much faster than it is, some brilliant inversions, beautiful theming, soundtrack is amazing! Roughness really doesn't bother me.
7)Thi3teen: despite all the misleading hype around this before it opened it's an excellent family ride. Love the spooky theme, smooth and fun outside section, relatively intense backward inside section, trick track is unique and exciting. Love the inside of the station particularly!
8)Nemesis Inferno: a worthy "sequel" to Nemesis, though like all sequels it doesn't quite live up to the original. Seems to be getting better with age, nice smoke effects and water spurt, some intense inversions, very disorientating and AMAZING at night!
9)Rita: this ones a controversial one! I don't find it at all painful, the speed is consistent and exhilarating, not sure the theming has ever really suited it, but it looks okay in places. Very fast, some nice airtime, takes your breath away, always come off laughing!
10)Vampire: ride itself is really showing it's age but theming (especially that MASSIVE station) is on point and the theme song remains my favourite ride theme to date, it really gets you geared up. Moments of relatively high speed and intensity despite no inversions, long ride time, good interaction with landscape, swinging effect of trains is very thrilling. My first "proper" coaster so very nostalgic.
That was just coasters, if I had done all rides, Detonator would have been fourth, no kidding xD

Haha you don't have to appologise xD I agree- stealth is better!! I love stealth so much, ridden it am unholy amount of times this year whereas I've ridden Rita once. After I've ridden Rita it somehow magically tricks me into going 'oh that was good, that was longer than stealth so it must be better...' but then when I get back on stealth it's like 'NO I WAS WRONG I'm SO SORRY I bETRAYED you!!!' xD

You'd never guess what my genuine favorite cereal ever is?! They used to sell it here when I were a lad you know, that's one of the main reasons I'm fat now!

Rather than pro TPM merch, how about anti TPR stuff. I'm sure it'd sell better...

Don't get upset TPRers, it's only a joke!

Well it's funny you should say that, as I came up with some member-based ideas myself
Max Wellingtons (too obvious, I know, hence why I put it first )
    Luke Ayer Fresheners
Most of them however were food and beverages:
    Liam_Tea
    Matty Mousse
    Smidget Gems
    Pluky Charms
    Rogan JoshC
    Rice and Peaj
    Mr Fish Fingers
    Mermalade
    Toof Pickle
But I think the best one is...
    Myk Weaves

In my experience it's very much a restraint problem, makes it close to unbearable for me. I'm well aware that's because I'm a little chunky, and it's got steadily worse the bigger I've got.

Nothing I have ever ridden is rougher than Colossus, but SAW is a close second. I mean I LOVE Colossus    its one of my favourites and I reaaallyy don't care if rides are rough or smooth so long as they are somewhat intense. But Rita has always seemed fine to me- a little rough in places, yes, but far from horrendous. I like it, its a good launch coaster and while it is by no means my favourite on park (that title goes to Nemmy <3) it is clearly very popular.

I think that some enthusiasts think that being an enthusiast puts them above the 'GP' as Turtle put it and makes them untouchable. That's the real problem, not being told you can't re-ride.

As long as you are fine with queuing it's up to you Ruby - Won't be as busy as next weekend (or the weekend after) but if you've been already, you could go and just do the stuff you want to do again!

That's the thing, people can't know the limit!  There's too many factors (time of day, temperature, how hydrated you are, how much you've had to eat, when you last ate...) to know exactly "Well, after x number of rides of this coaster, I've had enough", especially when they're sat down all the time.

Personally, I think a blanket no reride policy is a tad over the top (limit it to 2 or 3 say), but I can see why parks do it.  When I last went to Towers on a dead day in May (in the pouring rain too), I still got a brilliant ride count and the having to go round the queues again didn't affect any of our days in the slightest.

Ah yes, but how would you know, or know that those around you are in a fit state to continue re-riding?

It's only a matter of time until you get someone being sick (downtime) or needing medical assistance (more downtime).

I love how it would be a disaster if you have to walk around. God knows how you enjoy a quiet day at Alton if that's the case..

So next year we're getting Fish moved for a second time with a retheme...
This is top tier theme parking right here...
Also, was Scorpion Express really a success? Given that Chessie's figures don't tend to fluciate wildly, and a lot of visitors probably didn't turn up last year because the park was dreadful and pointless...

Can only talk of my own limited experience, bur the whole atmosphere changes a lot, caused almost as much by the parks reaction (which I'm not criticizing) as by the travelers themselves.

By 'letting them do as they wish' I presume Fred refers to the excessive queue jumping, loud swearing and smoking everywhere (it's not all of them, happens every day, lets not be racist, yada yada yada), which are not things I'm able to tolerate myself. Last time I stopped a queue jumper pushing by me (which I will always do) I got threatened with a stabbing repeatedly for the remainder of my 20min Smiler queue.

It's not a pleasant place to be, I'd avoid those days and I wish towers could 'work with the community' in some way to stop these weekends having such an impact on their guests.
