  1. It's all down to opinion tbh. Some people really like Colossus and some people don't. but my opinion is that it sucks . I've tried to give Colossus a chance but every time I ride it it seems a bit...... well...meh!
  2. I do not know whether this is true or not but I have heard from a member of TTF that footers are now going in! I doubt this very much because plans have not even appeared on the portal yet.
  3. London Dungeon replied to a post that I replied to on their Facebook page saying that they will be getting a 5D ride next year!London Dungeon™ … yes it’s true and very exciting news! The London Dungeon will be launching the UK’s very first 5D laser ride in late Spring. It will be totally unique and totally interactive as you are challenged to take on an army of supernatural forces in an adrenaline charged laser battle of speed, skill and nerve. More details will be coming soon …. so watch this space.
  4. A general apocalyptic theme will work, in fact it doesn't have to be about the world ending at all as an apocalyptic event is a devastating disaster like the nukes being dropped on Japan during WW2 or a freak hurricane devastating a certain location. They could easily make up an apocalyptic event and use it as the ride's theme. Can see a science fiction apocalyptic theme coming into fruition, Aliens landing and aiming to destroy the world can work, but you need to stop them before they wreck havoc! Of course you stop the aliens and they go back to their planet. But judging by the poster it should be a nuclear war theme, can see a post apocalyptic theme of a nuked location being used so long as they do not use Terminator, another IP won't go down well with enthusiasts .
  5. You will reach 17 because the world is not going to end in 2012 Nasa have even confirmed that the whole 2012 apocalypse idea is nonsense. A few days ago Nasa have even named the film 2012 as the most absurd sci fi film ever made because it is based around something that won't happen and has made people become suicidal. The world will not end in 2012, there will be a 2013! :PIf LC12 is themed round the end of the world, it will be very awkward in 2013 because the world did not end during the previous year. If they theme it around an apocalyptic event thousands of years into the future that doesn't involve the whole world ending then it will be a whole lot better because it will not cause any fear of the world ending that year and won't seem pointless the year after.
  6. Beiber is a little perve who sings squeals about babies. It is so obviousl that he's desperate for sex, he perved on Cheryl when he was on the X-Factor for goodness sake! Don't see how Cheryl's very attractive imo, She's far too skiny and her voice is very annoying, she seems like a very nice person but I don't fancy her. Zoe Saldana on the other hand .
  7. That looks pretty cool . Could see that working well at the London Dungeon.
  8. I know it is (but that was back when it was still a construction site so I think we can let it off, it is themed very now) so let's hope that thorpe stay well away from vekoma then .
  9. A coaster that is around the 200ft mark will have to be painted white and will dwarf the other rides. We may very well have a lift hill on LC12 so a 200ft lift hill will look very out of place and would make Stealh look puny. 50 metres is a very good height and is on par with many american coasters which are around that height. We may finally have a coaster that is actually above 100ft, we should be thankful for that.
  10. Actually Vekoma have a new track style that looks similar to B&M box track, except it is tubular. . But It does look as though it could be B&M track in the MTDP. A B&M would be more accepted by enthusiasts than a Vekoma.
  11. Urgh you had us all excited for a moment Tommy !!
  12. What we know so far is that LC12 may be 45-50 metres. To call that just scraping the height barrier is a bit daft because 150 -160ft is pretty high really. I've seen a coaster in Europe called Katun (didn't ride it because that was back when I didn't like thrill rides), that is 50 metres and it really does look massive . To see a coaster of that height in a UK park is rare, normally they are around 30 metres high. I'm just hoping that the council grant thorpe permission to build up to 50 metres.
  13. It was Mark Fisher not Nick Varney . Thorpe Park aren't really a 'Theme' Park anymore they've gone down the 'Thrill' Park route so we won't see as much theming or backstories as in the other Merlin parks. They have themed the SAW attractions very well so yeah it is very nice to see that. Will we see theming of that scale in 2012? I don't think so, but we do need some theming, but they are a thrill park now so what matters really is the coaster itself (saying this from their point of view). There may be a backstory but immaculate theming ...not not so sure. I can see a clever backstory going in if the apocalypse theme shown in the poster is to be the ride's theme.
  14. Any more IP's could be a bad move . I think everyone wants to see something 'original' this time. Anyway there has been an interesting find on another forum regarding LC12 that could be a clue towards the nuclear bomb theme http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Canaveral_Air_Force_Station_Launch_Complex_12It was a Missile launching complex in America called Launch Complex 12, otherwise known as LC12 which was used to use to launch Atlas missiles. So Project LC12 could be a reference towards Launch Complex 12 then.
  15. These are pretty awesome. Hard work has obviously gone into making these models. Very impressive ! These should look great on Google Earth.
  16. Doesn't need to be a prototype, a first for the UK or Europe will be fine. If not then they should bring Mack in to come up with a prototype for them.
  17. If we get another Intamin I will roast eye balls on the grill then eat them immediately after! Intamin are too keen to get their rides finished and that results in problems. Look at Intimdator 305 and Th13teen, those had problems with overspeeding and weight isues, which lead to trims being added. B&M tend to be very careful careful when developing new rides and they don't have issues like that as a result. Look at Nemesis, that didn't really have any problems like that and it actually made it back to the station with no problems in it's first test run. Of course it had teething problems but all rides do when they are new. Sure Intamin have created some amazing coasters but they are not as careful. But with JW on board, we may see less problems that they have caused with other rides (excluding th13teen). I know it's only a rumor that JW was seen with guys from Intamin but do we really want another Intamin? Mack or B&M, if one of those manufacture SW7 then we will be in for something amazing in 2013 .
  18. Quite right Dan I wasn't talking about it money wise, I was talking about bringing our parks into the same league as the other european parks, to do that they really do need to pull their socks up and focus on the UK alot more than they are at the moment. They need to invest more on things that will affect the parks more in a very good way like theming, ride experiences and better park entertainment etc. Buying out more attractions leaves less money to do this, unless they can make alot more money out of the attactions down-under.
  19. I mean focus on getting the UK parks on par with their european parks. . I think we all want to see them on par with the europen parks but I don't think it will happen for quite a while . But with Alton's ten year plan there is hope. it will happen sooner. They do very well when it comes to emptying their customers wallets and ripping their customers off .
  20. Tidal Wave's gas container effect that no longer works lol. This a very good model by the way.
  21. I think we know what all the price increases and cuts to various perks are going towards. They want more money to purchase new attractions. It seems that they don't want to be the second largest theme park operator, they want to be the largest. Stop expanding Merlin and focus on you're current parks, especially the UK parks! I know I posted this on another forum a few days ago
  22. That's not the actual layout, it just indicates how big the ride might be to the council.
  23. Yes a new parking charge wait . If we are getting something new at Chessie then that's great, interested to know what it might be.
  24. This was posted on Lightwater Valley's official facebook page Well...what does that prove Merlin? A park which has no where near as much money as your parks do is actually allowing free parking! What that tells us is that this park actually values their visitors over the money. You on the other hand value your visitors wallets more than anything! We are appalled! Lightwater deserve a round of applause but Merlin on the other hand, angry and violent demonstrations at the Merlin Headquarters like the student protests are what they deserve. I'm disgusted. The sooner they stop this nonsense the better.I hope you're reading this Merlin!
  25. A retheme/rebrand will be wise. Unless they create an entirely new area themed aroud bathing which will be highly unique as there is no park in the world that has such a theme although it would be unique for all the wrong reasons . I'm tired with Pirate themes tbh and probably most ethuiasts are really, too many parks have a pirate land/attraction but that is the theme in Mutiny Bay so it is a certainty that any retheme will be geared towards Pirates . If the ride is removed, I hope they replace it with a more innovative flume ride and it would be great if they were to use the same layout (it will please the council as trees won't be destroyed) we'll pretty much end up with a very similar ride experience only much smoother and with a modern feel to it. I suppose they could re-track it but Alton probably can't be asked to spend money on doing that .
