I think it is appauling to shut the rides just because a celeb is on it. They don't need special treatment!

I saw the front of a refurbished X train today from the Colossus brake run - it was painted completley black with just "THORPE PARK" written on the front in capital letters.
From what I could see it had individual lap bars but no seat divider - although I obviously only got a quick look.

You don't have to book tickets, but you do have to pick up a ticket from the bag drop off point.

To be honest when I first rode Saw I was abit dissapointed cos I've been on all three eurofighters in this country, (Speed, Saw and Rage) and honestly even though the other 2 have no themeing, enjoy these ones more becuase they werent hyped up then they were opened like saw and therefore I enjoyed theseones more then Saw which I couldnt help but feel dissapointed at. Apart from the fact that Saw is rougher then the over 2,its the fact they hyped it up so much, its like Thirteen, you just wish they hadnt gone over the top with the hype because you would probably enjoy the ride more. That is my biggest problem with Saw.

Because the sound of it is so distinctive and memorable, compared to other coasters even though ts only a mall part of the ride, it adds character.

I truly admire Thorpes engineers on their determination to keep Slammer working.

I like the music as well, but the ducks literally ruin it for me p,us the fair ground loop cuts are shocking.

But the problems you talk of Ian are ones of poor maintenance in the first place! It doesn't have to be like that - it can easily be an enclosed drop into something that isn't rotting. Considering it should be pitch black in there you can spray it with whatever you want to waterproof it.
I don't doubt that as a structure it was finished and would had to have been removed to the extent it has been before replacing. The cost of building it again would have been insignificant in comparison to much of the other work that has been completed around the park (including painting a big building that doesn't even have anything inside it and messing about with what was already their newest and best ride). Remember, that tunnel was built by the original Thorpe with no practically no money at all because they realised that providing an experience and something a little different was worthwhile. Now the might of multi-billion pound Merlin can't be bothered.
Admittedly I haven't seen it in person, but from the photos what they have done looks bizarre - the old entrance leading to nothing, an open lift and drop then into a hole in the ground with really obvious signs around you that there was a building there before. It would never have been designed like that and that is obvious to GP and geeks alike.
It annoys me to say the GP don't care about the rides like we do. We are the GP, we just analyse things a bit more than the average guest - that doesn't mean we don't enjoy it just the same and for the same reasons. Money may be spent where it will bring the guests in, but that should include simply giving a good day in pleasant surroundings, not only on something big and shiny to put on the poster. People do notice this stuff.

The Loggers leap tunnel is a different matter, it actually impacts on the ride experience and the ride won't be the same without it!

I've got two cats, Chaos and Misty
They are brother and sister, Chaos is very loud and vocal and just generally crazy whereas Misty is quiet and shy (but still a little bit mad!)
They fight a lot as well!

As Fred says, there have been occasions when Air (and indeed, other rides) have opened before 10am. If another ride is for some reason unable to open for ERT, then it is usually quickly replaced by another (I.e. Rita if Th13teen couldn't open, Air if Nemesis couldn't etc.).
I still think the best ERT used to be when it was hotel guests and annual pass holders only, with access to Forbidden Valley.
The way it is now, you waste most of your time walking, because the Skyride is closed!

I'm confused. Why are both trains not ready with backwards facing seats? Leaving it a bit late aren't they!

I guess I can say it now that it's a decade ago..
One of my main frustrations of visiting Thorpe Park in 2013 as opposed to 2003 is just how far the park has fallen. Attendence may be ultimately higher but the enjoyment at the park has fallen so far for me. I used to enjoy the park on a huge scale and now I go solely to see people I know. So where do I start I guess.
Lost City
-Vortex. This ride used to be so much better. I suppose Rush has had a big part to play here. Nonetheless from Vortex's soundtrack, its striking pink restraints, its length of ride. All of it has gone in favour of a dull ride which features Nicky Minaj pounding an alarm as you get one full swing at best, a queue line that is literally falling apart and a dull looking ride. Gone are the days of efficiency on this ride.
-Zodiac. The old Zodiac was a wreck but at its least it suited purpose. It was a beautiful ride to look at when it ran. Now a days we have Draytons old cast off in its dull white structure. The music hardly fits the ride either. Just rubbish.
- Quantum. Long gone are the days when this actually looked like a carpet and had a bark just as good as its bite. Nowadays you can occasionally get a good ride with a fitting soundtrack if the staff can be bothered to use it. It's a shame that it looks like a clark shoebox now because back in 2003 it could be a contender for one of the best rides on park.
- Colossus. Surprisingly, I don't think too bad of this ride even if it looks older then it actually is.
Calypso Quay
- Nemesis Inferno. Could be a lot worse, but I do wish some of the things that made Inferno that little bit better were still around. The tunnel mist effects in particular and the launch music which I haven't heard for years. Without those features its just another B&M inverter
- Rumba, This ride just needs destroying. I can find very little justification for its existence. The only positive is that you can always find it without a queue.
Amity Cove
- Tidal Wave. How they turned one of the best rides this country will ever see into the disgrace that it has now become I will never know. People may argue that it still works sufficiently but it speaks volumes when the KFC looks better then Tidal Wave does. From the cannery slowly falling apart, too none of the effects around the ride working it shouts laziness from every direction. The most frustrating thing is knowing that the park want these things fixed but have neither the funds or resources to make this happen.

I understand it is open with the main season until The Smiler takes over and is not a paid extra, but it's only open for a limited amount of hours daily. I'm not sure I've remembered that correctly though.

How can people be judging the billboard yet, we haven't even seen it?! A badly edited image does not represent in any way what it will actually look like, it just provides us with a representation of the sort of shape it will be etc.
I hope it will look good and I'm sure it will, they could even have mist coming through the gap but that's probably not going to happen considering we already have mist under the plane wing.
