  1. I went there about a year ago, it was very good, they use "chain saw" and sparkes everywhere, its a lot lot bigger and better then the saw horror maze and it has moving wall and stuff so for a short amount of time you are actually trapped!

The chain saw at thorpe parks "asylum" maze in Halloween scared the CRAP out of me!!!
  2. I'd say towers scarefest. I think the atmosphere is just right. The mazes are better than Thorpe imo, as they're better thought out, they're not constant scare-scare-scare bright lights trying to kill you bullcottage cheese tastes very nice, they generally have a storyline or a background and it's more immersive, which is worth their extra costs. And terror of the towers lasting roughly 13mins is a good run for your money reallyI also think towers does more for the kids, yeah they've got the trick or treat, but the music is better suited to family, and they seemingly put more effort than chessington. I lov chessingtons soundtrack, but to play it everywhere? Bit much. And they've done that before with the old amity SFX playing everywhere in previous two years.Plus.. the park overall looks better. The park looks better than the others in the daytime, but come nighttime. Coar. Just look at these to see how amazing the place looked last year. Plus, apart from literally 3 days last year, the park was no busier than a standard weekend - or even dead (first week being empty). Decent.

I have to go with Scarefest at Alton Towers too. :DI visited during the first week of it being on last year, (Sunday 17th I think). It was brilliant on many levels, not only did the park have a MASSIVE amount of lighting and effects such as the Alpha-Spots at the bottom of Oblivion's drop which moved round and shon up to the car when it was about to drop, then spun round as it was going down the drop. Also Nemesis was looking better than I had ever seen it, with tons of red lights and smoke around by the bus area. Air had some lighting as well, basically all the rides did and Katanga Canyon had some nice lights around it like green ones in the jeep by the rapids. I didn't do any of the scare mazes, but by what I have heard about them they sound better than some of Thorpe's... and they last a lot longer. ;)The atmosphere at Towers Scarefest was not too over the top either, it was just right and the merge between day and night was really good when the park comes to life with all of the things like the Th13teen queue actors and lighting. Queues were also VERY reasonable on opening weekend, Nemesis had max of 15 mins by what I remember and was walk on most points during the day, same goes for Oblivion (I spent most of the evening in X-Sector ;) ). Some smaller&water rides closed at dusk because of safety reasons, but that can't really be helped. But yeah, I will definitely try to return to this years event.

See I love the atmosphere at Thorpe Park, the whole park is smoked out, creepy sound tracks are played around the park, loads of horror mazes and I just love it! But I do really want to go to the Scarefest at Alton, never been there before because its such a journey but I'm planning to go this year depending on what people are doing haha! I really loved Thorpe's halloween events a few years ago when it was less popular, you didnt even have to get off stealth, they just keep making it go round, unless you wanted to get off ;) But really want to the Alton some time!
  3. In a sense, but not really... it's like when people watch concerts on TV and just think "Hey that was kinda cool", then people who actually went to it come back like "OMG BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE"... obviously that's an exaggerated example but it's the same principle, you can't feel the atmosphere through pictures. The Saw island feels totally lifeless in comparison to Wild Asia... Also a quick hint, if you click on the multi-quote button on all the posts you want to reply to and THEN click 'add reply', you can reply to all the messages you want to in one single post... easier to read for everyone else.

Yeah I suppose, you get the whole feeling and the atmosphere around the area! But I suppose I mostly go to Thorpe Park in Halloween so the Saw Island is a complete different experience! and thank you, I'm new to all this :o
  4. Iv'e not visited Chessington in about 5 years so I've not actually been to wild Asia, hence the fact I voted for the Saw Island  but both of them are fantastically themed, however wild Asia does tie in well with Chessingtons' theme of adventure so I suppose, if I'd actually visited it, I'd have voted for it instead.

This is true, but I think Thorpe Park are trying to change their target audience. I feel that they are trying to make Chessi the family day out with fun rides and make Thorpe the thrill seekers exciting day out with loads of screams. I also feel that because Thorpe have completely got rid of the children and baby area for another ride. If their target audience was for the family, they would want more of those types of areas. :o

Not to be to picky... but if you haven't been then you shouldn't really vote. I haven't been to Six Flags Magic Mountain so I could hardly vote in a topic asking what my favourite rollercoaster there is.

This is true, but I guess you can go by pictures and other materials?
  5. I do adore Saw (tehe it ryhmed) but Wild Asia is so well themed and the rides suit the park! Also Chessie has Monkey Swinger

I like Chessington, but in my opinion it isnt as fun as Thorpe Park. But thats just me, I like the thrill and excitement, whereas Chessington I find is more a family park and a sometimes relaxed day out with the kids :o
  6. The Saw Island just doesn't fit in with Thorpe Park and I think they overdid it abit with Saw Alive. But I have to agree that the theming on Saw is generally fantastic.

I like the whole Saw island in general, people are saying that there are just bricks and dirt. But that is how its supposed to be. Its supposed to look like a worn down, unused warehouse! Not a greatly looked after, well maintained building haha!
  7. From what I have seen it looks really good. But their is one in London that is also just outside Pleasure Beach in Blackpool. I would tell you the name but I have forgotten LOL! But that looks scarier! Are you thinking of going to the London Death Trap then?? I really want to go to it haha!

  8. When I went to thorpe park in the summer, tidal wave had a queue of over 3 hours, so it has not lost its popularity. I think that in the winter, if you get as soaked as you do in the summer, you wont dry off for the rest of the day :/ (this has happened to me many times)I have always wondered, is the splash that tidal wave makes natural? Or are there pipes at the bottom of the drop that are sensor activated which shoot water up when the boat goes over it? It just seems quite a big splash for a big boat. But then again, it could be the design of the boat that makes the splash. Any ideas?? haha

  9. Hey, so I LOVE the Halloween event at Thorpe Park, I have been to theirs now for a couple of years but have never tried out any other parks Halloween events. Which UK Theme Park is the best for Halloween events? I think Thorpe Parks event is amazing and I love how they smoke the park out in the evening and the horror mazes, but can another park out do them? Love to hear your thoughts and opinions :lol:Many thanks, TomW Posted Image
  10. I think I actually have it some where, I was on Tumblr and someone had a post which contained some music that they thought would be the new one. Let me find it and I'll post it :lol:Okay, so I have scrolled and scrolled through my tumblr and I can't find it anywhere. But if I do, I'll let you know :DTomW
