Silver Star is a boring coaster. Mako is at least fun.
-
They basically own Rust though, almost every house is a B&B. Silver Stars queue closes at 8pm but other than that I don't see issues. The park is open till midnight once a year, and the Vampire Club lead to loads of people walking through Rust at 2/3am so I don't quite know why they couldn't get 1am agreed even if it's just for the more peak nights of the event.
And Roland wants to have the national rail line extended to Europa plus more hotels and a waterpark, I think there's a good relationship between the Macks, Rust and the whole of Germany it seems

It was a good visit! VIP stuff is always worth it!
The sinking isn't that bad, it's just happening.
Loggers they're still undecided on apparently, it sounds like the park want it but higher ups might not.

Must just mean those two rides were really good to impress me but yeah, I prefer old school woodies like Zuess and Gwazi.
-
I dislike spinning flat ride stuff so I will be biased against it.
Rumour? It's been confirmed hasn't it after we voted for? I mean, they've started demoing the area!
Perfect for the park, a family thrill launch ride thing like Firechaser at Dollywood!
Wodan doesn't compare. One because they're very different types of woodie, two because Zuess is so much better

Bucky is alive
QuoteIt would take me to Europa Park, the crème de la creme of European parks
Don't need to go anywhere else now then

For me, Efteling has good rides in a messy layout that often doesn't feel coherent. Operations also aren't the best at Efteling. Europa Park has its set areas, all well themed and individual. It just feels of a higher quality and and consistent throughout. After 2 days at Efteling I was very happy to leave. After 4 nearly 5 days at EP I was okay to leave but knew I'd happily go back in a few months.

About the completing everything in one day. That's not just down to a few closures, when I went even if all those closed rides open we could have easily done the park in a day. It's because the park is dead. There are virtually no queues majority of most days. And yet, they can still run their coasters on a better capacity than other parks do on actual busy days. Crazy.

Poseidons is interesting. It's got some clever stuff in it and is a different type of attraction for sure, but it is quite dated now and will be on Creative's hit list without a doubt.
Creative are aware of the issues with Studios and Islands. Studios needs new stuff to replace the hugely dated areas, but the park needs capacity too so they can't close too much. Twister and Disaster is okay as they never got huge queues anyway and their replacements will help. KidZone is a big plot of land, something they don't want to lose just yet. And then there's Shrek... and the whole entrance where you are like straight into the park with no build up. Plus DM is there... so SLOP might go there too so they have an Illumination themed area kinda. Although that's rumoured to be Toon Lagoons replacement but it doesn't seem logical with DM in Studios. With $500 million being invested into both Hollywood and Orlando each year they can basically build and build. Space then becomes an issue, so hello 3rd gate. Taking it Kong is costing possibly more than Gringotts did, plus rebuilding a B&M in the same year, money won't really be an issue.

Great reports, really hyping me for my trip in August!
Islands is my favourite park ever. Yeah it's had 17 rides (or there about) for the 18 years its been open, but it doesn't need loads of rides. You can wonder around the areas (especially Hogwarts and JP) for ages! It's amazing what they do sometimes, especially when you consider when most of those rides were conceived! Didn't realise the re-ride thing was still around on Dragon Challenge didn't see it in 2013, will have to keep an eye out this time! Did you get to see Sinbad and Poseidons Fury?
Studios is a park that still needs some major work. It got hit pretty badly in the 2000-2009 era with rides just overlayed (BTTF becoming Simpsons) and some needing updates that never happened (KidZone being one of the most dated areas ever). Good thing Nintendo will replace Kidzone by 2018/19. And they are working hard on Studios, and fast. Whereas Islands can just sorta sit there because it was a quality product from day one.

Are you going to do the rest of the reports?

Just wait till Florida for fireworks

Temple and Hollywood don't even necessarily need replacing, maybe just a huge overhaul. Nighthawk could be quite good with some effects, tunnels etc bit like Space Mountain. Hollywood just needs modernising. Or you could get rid of them both and have a huge show building for a mega monster dark ride. Either way it needs something, especially as they're both at the top of a dead end path so you could walk past them easily.

We got to do it twice although it was only open from 1-5:30. First time was full ride and the speiling in Dutch so we got the general jist of it. Second time there were us 4 and 2 French so the guy did it in English meaning we understood the story a lot more and got the humour! The ride is good, works brilliantly as Part of the whole experience. Really varies though depending on where you sit, too far forward you miss the edge effects to far back you miss the front screen effect. But very good ride overall!

Bobbejaanland has lots of rides, they're just all a bit meh.
Efteling is alright. I wasn't a massive fan of the park, yes very good but not OMG AMAZING. Lots of great themed rides, but areas don't really exist. Pancake place was amazing! So nice, and the centrepiece is great too.
Fairytale Forest is huge, no joke. Took us nearly 2 hours to see it all.
Dark rides were good, Droomvlucht very good, Fate very good, Villa Volta eh didn't leave too much of an impression on me. The omnimover themed around the clown was cool.
Tips, can't say really park was quiet the whole time we were there and because we had 2 full days we literally just wandered around doing stuff as we saw it.

I'm not sure, there is a ride missing from the report actually! Their rapids which are quite good! Oh and seriously, Troy is pretty impressive. Especially when it's the biggest structure in sight for a few miles. When we went in the lady started saying something and it was about Troy, at first we were worried we were going to get spited! Luckily, she was just informing us it was only open 12-5 (and we still got 5-6 rides on it).
It was the smallest park in size (just had some more stand-out rides than say Bellewearde). I think we all thoroughly liked the park as it was one of our hottest days and half the park is indoors so air-conditioned. It was only an hour drive from Efteling so easily done if you're driving, no idea about public transport but it did look very in the middle of no where. I'm not sure if it's worth a huge amount of effort though to get there, for us it just split up the drive between Phantasialand and Efteling.

I agree the park is superb! It's a shame you got Mystery Castle on the bad setting as on the long cycle, I think it's fantastic!
I find it bizzare how they decide the setting though. Does it alternate each day? I'd understand had it been busy, but we didn't have to wait more than one cycle and it was a really dead day on park. I'm not sure I'd have been amazed by the longer cycle (obviously don't know that) but I still want to give it a go as that's what everyone who hypes it up must be on about!
Loved every minute of Phantasialand bring me back there in a heart beat please
Next year Jack... next year

It was definitely a park that seemed to split our opinions in many ways
Had some real gems and some very meh stuff. Psyke was pointless in my eyes, Flashback was a great flume and good I-Spy queue! Calamity Mine I couldn't believe your reaction after riding it, think you were just as shocked with yourself to be fair though. I enjoyed Vampire but I seem to be one of the few SLC likers...
Real shame they didn't have that music battle show thing we saw that's now a business event area, that might have added that something. Was a good day in that it was the last day we had long queues (bar Baron) and we didn't miss any creds here on in!
-
What a nice family park, they definitely plop lots of details around the park. How was the woodie construction there?
No idea where they're building it so have no idea. There was a small square cornered off but I'll be astounded if they put a woodie in there (unless it is just for the Plops!)
-
I expect SCB's report will have a different writing approach altogether resulting in two different blogs from the same time frame.
Urm... I kinda gave up taking many photos after the first few days but I'll try if I get enough time to do something.
This will be a nice way for me in a few years to pick which parks were nicest incase I forget

There were rumours that Islands recouped the entire investment in Potter back in 5 months or something through merch and food sales alone with the number being 3 months for Diagon Alley which is spectacular! At they rate they could (and basically are) building one new large thing each year and still raking in huge profits. May seem crazy like the Tussauds era of invest at every corner but Comcast seem pretty confident and so they should be, the figures all support it.
Whilst Universal has always been great at developing modern rides such as Spiderman, Potter has really changed the parks and for the better. Yes, they continue to invest heavily in Potter which I'm not a massive fan of because the IP doesn't bother me, but can you blame them for doing so? Especially when they do invest elsewhere. Springfield is just some shops and restaurants yet it is sublime!
RE Forbidden Journey: I really enjoy the ride and love the new concept and look forward to how further rides of its type are explored as they could be utterly amazing. Also, the Japanese FJ is now 3D4K which so is Hollywood. No idea of when Orlando's will get this upgrade.

I like Stealth and the free food and drink at press nights
It's a good idea though! And if you are fed up of the parks, visit one you've always wanted too! A lot of people think it's hard or expensive but it doesn't have to be! I've done a fair few budget European trips with no complaints yet and I know many other members on here have too. Sometimes a break is good, you appreciate stuff more the less you do it.
