I like Stealth and the free food and drink at press nights

It's a good idea though! And if you are fed up of the parks, visit one you've always wanted too! A lot of people think it's hard or expensive but it doesn't have to be! I've done a fair few budget European trips with no complaints yet and I know many other members on here have too. Sometimes a break is good, you appreciate stuff more the less you do it.

They basically own Rust though, almost every house is a B&B. Silver Stars queue closes at 8pm but other than that I don't see issues. The park is open till midnight once a year, and the Vampire Club lead to loads of people walking through Rust at 2/3am so I don't quite know why they couldn't get 1am agreed even if it's just for the more peak nights of the event.

And Roland wants to have the national rail line extended to Europa plus more hotels and a waterpark, I think there's a good relationship between the Macks, Rust and the whole of Germany it seems

For me, Efteling has good rides in a messy layout that often doesn't feel coherent. Operations also aren't the best at Efteling. Europa Park has its set areas, all well themed and individual. It just feels of a higher quality and and consistent throughout. After 2 days at Efteling I was very happy to leave. After 4 nearly 5 days at EP I was okay to leave but knew I'd happily go back in a few months.

About the completing everything in one day. That's not just down to a few closures, when I went even if all those closed rides open we could have easily done the park in a day. It's because the park is dead. There are virtually no queues majority of most days. And yet, they can still run their coasters on a better capacity than other parks do on actual busy days. Crazy.

Great reports, really hyping me for my trip in August!

Islands is my favourite park ever. Yeah it's had 17 rides (or there about) for the 18 years its been open, but it doesn't need loads of rides. You can wonder around the areas (especially Hogwarts and JP) for ages! It's amazing what they do sometimes, especially when you consider when most of those rides were conceived! Didn't realise the re-ride thing was still around on Dragon Challenge didn't see it in 2013, will have to keep an eye out this time! Did you get to see Sinbad and Poseidons Fury?

Studios is a park that still needs some major work. It got hit pretty badly in the 2000-2009 era with rides just overlayed (BTTF becoming Simpsons) and some needing updates that never happened (KidZone being one of the most dated areas ever). Good thing Nintendo will replace Kidzone by 2018/19. And they are working hard on Studios, and fast. Whereas Islands can just sorta sit there because it was a quality product from day one.

I agree the park is superb! It's a shame you got Mystery Castle on the bad setting as on the long cycle, I think it's fantastic!

I agree with the entire blog, Adam! Spiderman is just perfect in EVERY way possible. It's funny how they say TH13TEEN is "every ride you've ever dreamed of in one"...meaning they obviously hadn't been on Spiderman before!

Can't find them at Universal though, further proving why ABL is much much better.

Plus only half of the train ride counts as the other half is in a whole different, separately ticketed theme park. And the queues, they'll be fun. At least with ABL the queues are no where near as bad as what Diagon Alley will be like!

I'll give a serious review here then It's a small park with most of it being generic stuff you see at all the parks (small coasters like Paultons have, an array of well run flat rides and so on). It's a beautiful park to walk around. The bottom half of it doesn't even feel like a theme park (reminded me of Virginia Water Lake for anyone who's been). Raptor Attack is so simple with the generic coaster etc yet so immersive with the small groups entering the mine, physically low beams and really well done animatronics. Great little dark ride. Skate Karts are brill and would be great if you were in a group of friends to race around!

The Ultimate is an amazing ride. Really is, yes it's rough, rattly and stuff but it feels like an old school coaster and the second half never lets up. Gutted we only did it the once! We were warned about it being on one train all day (think it has been most of the holidays as well actually as the red train is buggered). We queued 40 minutes for it just before 11, was probably 90 minutes most of the day. Although the track is long the ride only takes 7 minutes due to the stupidly slow lift hills. However you get 38 people on a train so it moves in nice bursts and the music they play is pretty awesome too! Wouldn't be a bad queue if it were on 2 trains.

Really enjoyed reading that and a great selection of photos to show off how beautiful the park is - the greenery/plants etc are really peaceful, then you have the animals aswell. Ok so it isn't a thrill park but has a decent selection of rides and is a good day out.
I visited Paultons back in 2011 for the first time in years when they were promoting Peppa Pig world (and I got to meet Peppa Pig whoo) - when I returned last year I was stunned at how well themed it was - Merlin take note!!
If you have a strong stomach then The Edge is more intense than Kobra at CWOA. And just to confuse things, Cobra is a pretty decent coaster (my fave ride there).
I think Magma is good but yes I agree about the queue line not making a great deal of sense but the ride itself is good fun.
Did you go to the area where Wave Runner is? - Basically same as Depth Charge at TP which is great if there isn't a big queue because the stairs on that thing are horrible if you have a fear of heights!
Great park, great staff and I would recommend a visit to anyone - I love it there and I am old and my niece loves it (she isn't old)
Hopefully at some point this year I shall make another visit to Paultons - oh and the new entrance look v nice
