The campaign that it was painting a bad image for mental health sufferers. Got quite heated so much so that the police were contacted to try and get Thorpe to remove it. 
 
This had NO influence on them removing it though. It was decided in the summer that it was to be The Asylum's last Fright Nights. It was just a shame it ended on such a negative campaign. They'll probably replace it with a similar concept anyway so don't see what the problem is (although I'd much rather they move away from it and make something decent that builds suspense because for me Asylum wasn't that great, just a slow procession through some flashing lights and loud noises *waits for the hate*)

Take a wild spin on Dragons ZUry or a flight on the ZUpire! Watch out though as RattleZUkes bite, as do many creatures in AmaZU (mainly that crazy 5 year old kid!). Unwind with some magic in ZUcus Pocus hall or a bump on ZUk ZUk turmoil! Only here at CheZU where our ride to hotel ratio is a world first high of 3 to 1!

The reasoning for further cuts is because the midways are struggling now as well. But of course, Merlin won't cut them back or stop investing in stupid numbers of those even though it is clear people are fed up of them. Instead, they tighten the budget further on Towers because why not, they've already ruined the park. The second half of 2017 was actually really good for the park numbers wise and many were expecting a better 2018, if not at least the same plus WickerMan. But no, Towers gets a nice new coaster and a fresh amount of cuts.
 
Merlin sure know how to make money. Hopefully with falling out of the FTSE100 too the shareholders will boot Varney off and whip the company into shape. They have the money to do great.

I asked Thorpe on social media if they plan to open Nemesis Inferno at midday for synergy across the brand

The pass system needs a complete overhaul. Starting from scratch with tiers. To remove parks during August is just odd. I get it adds value to the premium, I get Disney do it. But it's not like any of the Merlin parks are near capacity at August weekends that they're having to turn paying guests away on the day. There's easier ways to make the valuing better, just keep standard price rises on the standard pass and offer premium holders more. As all they've done here is rise the premium price and reasoning it as "well you can still visit August weekends so that's costing you another tenner." Just a bizarre way to go about it all.

I will just throw this out there, not that it bothers me but it does bother some people. The weather in September can be pretty crazy, even for Florida standards, as it is peak hurricane season. All this actually means is regular thunder storms almost at set times that obviously close any outdoor ride/attraction or entire water parks  But yeah September is good, if not, first two weeks of December! In between Thanksgiving and the crazy Christmas crowds, weather is more sensible and you get the Christmas stuff.

You got a source for that, or you just being a disrespectful prick?

hey guys, this is just a friendly reminder that you have LESS THANK ONE WEEK to confirm whether or not you'd like to stay a night or two for this meet. I will not be chasing people up. You must let myself or @Ryan know by 9pm on SATURDAY, 13th MAY and state whether you wish to stay for one or two nights.

I cannot stress enough that we will NOT be chasing any of you up. If you've voted in the poll we will not be assuming that you're attending, you will need to personally post in this very topic or let one of us know. Unfortunately we cannot make any exceptions as we will be pricing up the room the next day and shall be collecting payments over the course of the following week. If we haven't received your payment by SUNDAY, 21st MAY then we will be unable to include you in our bookings.

By all means if you miss any miss any of these deadlines you're still more than welcome to come, you shall just have to book your own room if you wish to stay the night, and you can always just join us for the day parts if you don't even wish to spend the night (and you're local enough) anyway!

Also if you have any any specific preferences as to who you'd like to share with I would strongly advise booking your own room regardless as we can't guarantee we'll be able to satisfy all requests.

I shall be messaging those who have confirmed next sunday just to double check and then we'll be one step closer to the Towers meet happening! woo etc.

How are the public finding it though? Is it a ride it once and that's it type thing. It has been walk on from about 3 everyday this week and while you could argue that's because it's being reliable, well so are the B&M's and Saw on these days and they have queues all day. Purely because reriding roller coasters is fun. You ride Ghost Train, yeah it gets you once, but that's it. It doesn't change, and it isn't thrilling enough to warrant you wanting to go again. The ending catches you off guard once and that's it.
 
It's another investment where they haven't thought long term. It's expensive to staff and I highly doubt it's going to hold up popularity wise over time. The ride still does nothing and you are sitting still watching a screen most of the time, it's not even like a motion simulator. Yes it's better than last year, but it is not built around the demographic Thorpe get or even want to get. I see it like a midway they've cut in half and plonked in the middle of an amusement park.
