No one knows. Try to stop worrying about it and wait until the park say something OR March 25th you can visit the park, see for yourself and then tell all of us the final outcome.

@Mattgwise I live in Plymouth so unfortunately Thorpe is a near on 5 hour drive from me. I wish I lived in Surrey so I could have unlimited visits to Thorpe and Chessington. Until the age of 7 and 362 days my Parents and I resided in New Malden a town about a 5 minute drive away from both parks. In all the years Surrey was our home I only visited Chessington once, this was 3 weeks before we moved down South. As for Thorpe I visited as a baby/toddler with my Grandparents,Mum and elder Cousin. Ironically my Grandparents and Cousin who already lived in Plymouth visited Thorpe numerous times. My Grandparents and Cousin were even at Thorpe the day the fire occurred. Due to this occurrence my Cousin who’s 30 later this year has nicknamed Thorpe Park Fire Park.

Now I’ve given you my bio I think we should get back onto the subject. Finally I apologise for any boredom caused by my post

That isn't Timber Tug Boat. The ride going there is from Dreamland, Margate.

@Mattgwise this move is ludicrous. Dreamland only purchased their Rocking Tug less than 5 years ago. I have heard that many of the Rides that Dreamed purchased in this deal with Zamperla have been sold.

  3. Could Rocky Express and Timber Tug Boat receive a nautical refresh, and along with Lumber Jump be relocated to the Wet Wet Wet site. The footprint of the Waterslide is probably large enough for 3 rides. In conflict I have heard that Thorpe have sold Rocky Express and Timber Tug Boat. To my knowledge Timber Tug Boat is going to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach. I don’t know and have been wondering for months where Rocky Express is going, could someone please enlighten me?. I would be highly grateful for information on the fate of Rocky Express. I would like to know as providing it is remaining in England I will go to it’s new location. Any information on the fate

  4. Any information on if Nickelodeon have extended their sponsorship for Nickelodeon Land? I still don’t know if Beaver Creek is returning next year or if Nickelodeon Land is staying. If the Nickelodeon sponsorship has been extended I wonder if it is for another 11 years as was agreed back in 2011.

The first section has been realised.

    But.

There is not full steam ahead.

Prepare for a rocky few years.

    Ding dong, ding dong.

@Parm Pap what are you going on about? I don’t know wheather I am being thick but I cannot understand what you are saying.

  6. Hi does anyone know the fate of Rocky Express,Timber Tug Boat and Lumber Jump? I would like to know if they have been relocated within Thorpe, relocated to another Merlin attraction or sold to a Theme Park outside of the Merlin chain. If The rides have left Thorpe I would imagine their bound for Alton Towers. The rides could easily be rethemed and relocated to The World Of David Williams or even CBeebies Land. My first guess would be that the rides have been relocated to the area adjacent to Depth Charge. These rides combined with the stored Octopus Garden rides could form a brilliant expansion to Amity. Thorpe could even create a new Children’s nautical Themed area with these rides. Talking about Octopus Garden and Rocky Express, an interesting piece of Thorpe Park trivia is that Rocky was initially located in Octopus Garden. In the mid 90’s Rocky was relocated to Canada Creek or Old Town as it was latterly known.

  7. Is anyone else expecting the Octopus Garden rides to return adjacent to Depth Charge. I am expecting Timber Tug Boat,Lumber Jump and the Octopus Garden rides from the Farm to be relocated to the Wet Wet Wet site and form a new area. Thorpe have most of the Octopus Garden rides in storage and they would take only a few weeks to reassemble. Back in  2011 the Octopus Garden rides were taken down in weeks. I presume Thorpe have retained the Octopus Garden rides with the option to rebuild them. This move may only be temporary until the development on Old Town opens but I find it likely.

What I think would be a brilliant addition would be a Top Spin to eat up those queues! Small footprint too.

As Alton Towers is open for its Christmas event, could someone walk up to The World Of David Williams and see if there is any construction work happening?

There's been work going on in CBeebies Land with a couple of attractions closing (or ones that have been closed for a while) seemingly set to be replaced. No clue which ones tbh.

So that could quite plausibly be the new attractions (since it could simply be 2 new things).

Obviously the Retro Squad was planned as a 1 year thing. Loosing multiple flats in the same year when they're very much needed things is not good, so one would hope that we get some sort of thrill flat ride too.

@JoshC. I think Alton Towers will surprise us with a World Of David Williams expansion comple with some permanent flat rides.

  10. I’ve just come across this on the Alton Towers website

Share massive giggles, mega thrills and major glee with your family in 2022 at Alton Towers Resort! As well as amazing new attractions, the Resort will be hosting fantastic events and entertainment for the nation to enjoy!

“New attractions” are mentioned,to me this means that at least 3 new rides will arrive. Personally I think that the “new attractions” will be located  in The World Of David Williams and CBeebies Land. I even think this article is hinting at a World Of David Williams expansion for next year.

How do you all interpret Alton Towers saying “new attractions”?

  11. I have had the folly reply from a source that shall remain anonymous. Should I believe it?

    Hi George,

Rocky Express has been sold and will not be joining the ride line-up at Chessington for 2022.

Seastorm is currently under going a big refurbishment program to extend its operational life at Chessington. With a large number of new parts on the way. This is the reason for its earlier closure this season. Delays in getting the parts to the park have slowed down progress, but it will reopen in 2022.

The post you linked above is speculation on our part and isn’t based on anything other than our  own thoughts. We’ve not got any official news about new rides for 2022, but we believe if there were, Pirates Cove could be a good location for them.

Thanks for your message. Have a good day.

  12. Hi all as we know Rocky Express is being removed from Thorpe. Can anyone tell me if it’s been sold. If it has can someone inform me on which Theme Park have bought it? If you would rather contact me confidentiality you can PM on Messenger. My real name is George Koshti-Richman. If I’m told any information I promise not to tell anyone.

Considering Tomb Blaster has just had a bit of an overhaul, another retheme so soon seems extremely unlikely, although it would be cool.

Also Scorpion Express has only just (all be it 7 years ago now) had a major refurb, so surely that’s not going anywhere anytime soon?

That would be a major attraction to lose at a moments notice.

It’s impossible for anyone to say really one way or another about any of this, but I think the pirates cove rumour seem the most legit.

I wonder if Sea Storm will simply be replaced by Rocky, or if they will add Rocky alongside it (a bit like how squid surfer is 2 rides as one) to increase capacity perhaps?

I believe that Rocky will end up at Chessington. Chessington could easily retheme it to Sailors or Pirates. @Inferno which location in Pirates Cove can you envisage Rocky Express being?

The rumours don't stand. They've never been rumours. Nick worked on audio changes to create a sort of narrative to Tomb Blaster. Nothing was ever mentioned about it changing back to it's old form. People were joking with you as they thought it funny that you believed it was coming back.

In March when Forbidden Tomb returns everyone will be apologising to me.

  15. Hi it appears there is a chance that Pirates Cove is being refurbished this closed season. A new ride is even mentioned. I think that the recently closed Rocky Express from Thorpe, could be rethemed and relocated. Even know Rocky Rocky Express is technically older than Seastorm mechanically it’s newer. All of the electrical and mechanical components were replaced last closed season, during a major overhaul. Last  year I was told that Seastorm and Scorpion Express would be leaving Chessington. I’ll link my source below

    Food for thought? https://chessingtonbuzz.com/news/pirates-cove-refurb-for-2022

Was a nice day overall and whilst it was far too busy it was still a good day.

Throughputs were not great but it is only four days in so fair enough. Availability was good with only Dragons Fury really going down for a couple of hours.

Audio is a bit messy in places. Dragons Fury and Rattlesnake has no music, though the latter only ever had music in a couple of spots anyway. Scorpion Express was playing station announcments in queue instead of he station and Carousel was blasting out of the entire adventure point area. There's new Mexicana audio and a new mix of call to adventure that plays in turn with Croc drop and vampire mixes too at the lodge entrance area.

A shame that Monkey Swinger was without its water jets but hopefully this is just a temporary thing. It was great during Howloween with them all recently fixed and being held on for long periods of time!

On a more positive note it was lovely to see some new signage and refreshed Mexicana looks nice.

Croc Drop is a great addition for families and certainly going to be a hit.

To finish a few pics of the ridiculous amount of fast track and high number of RAP users today.

Oh and Forbidden Tomb is back... Love the new signage...
