Man not happy that he didn’t buy park entry tickets and thought buying Qbot got him into the park.

What’s amusing is Legoland claim the 6 rides they did get on is more than most visitors get in a day, that’s what £570 gets you.

The Merlin parks will calculate a 'Rides per Guest' number.  This is done rather crudely, by taking the total number of people who have been on the rides and dividing it by the number of people on park.

Legoland will have quite a small RpG number for many reasons.  They have live shows, play areas, meet and greets and Miniland - all things which aren't included in RpG numbers - which a lot of kids will want to spend a fair amount of time in.  They also get a lot of babies visit, who naturally can't do much, which pulls the average down.  Quite a few rides don't have big throughputs which doesn't help either.  People alao take a long time to eat too.  And you'll probably get quite a few parents who decide to skip it on rides to take photos as well.  All of those things drag the number down.

The average RpG numbers for all the Merlin parks  (and probably every park worldwide if they do it) would be lower than you expect.  Enthusiasts tend to forget how much your average guest will dawdle, spend time not riding things, etc.  I genuinely expect Legoland's RpG number to be between 4 and 5.

For Legoland to use it publicly as a way to say someone rode more than the average number of rides is silly though.  It's a simple, slightly crude, way of internally figuring out how many rides people are getting on average to keep a tab on ridership.  Hopefully not too many pick up on it, else they've shot themselves in the foot.

Totally agree with the bloke that 30 minute wait times are ridiculous when you've purchased something giving "near instant" ride access mind.

I bet that 30 min wait is down to other Qbot users joint the queue before their time is up. Some hosts seem to hold the whole queue up and wait for that persons Qbot / mobile to be scannable which is unfair on the others who have joined at the right time. And then of course you get others who don’t understand instead of waiting the 59min wait in the Qbot line you could be using those 59mins to queue up for something else and then come to Qbot ride when time is up.

Since we don't have a general Legoland thread, I'll stick this here...

Merlin revealed today that they've signed a deal for the Lego parks to each get a 'LEGO Movie Land', starting from 2019, which coincides with the release of the new film.  With Windsor meant to be getting something big in 2019, I guess it's possible that whatever the new thing for 2019 is, it could help form the first Movie Land for a Lego park...

Legoland have recently released their 2018 season map.

From Theme Park Guide.

Whilst it’s supposedly a low investment year, something becomes particularly noticeable.

Not only is the path from Lego City to Adventure Land missing, but so is the Heartlake Express. Does this mean the removal of the once iconic train or temporary closure for possible construction work?

Also Olivias House and Space Tower have disappeared, with the later confirmed as leaving.

Well assuming Ghost is still happening, this could just be to make way for its construction? Like how CCR closed while SAW was being built. :)

Legoland have applied for changes in the 'Ghost' attraction which was originally planned.

This will mean we shall hopefully see an opening in 2019 of a madhouse style attraction instead of a drop tower. I've dropped a couple of screenshots from the planning permission for all you lazy people out there.

I guess it's not that surprising to see Merlin stray away from the mini drop tower rides following the issues they've had in recent years.  But gutted we won't get them though.

Equally, a madhouse style fits Legoland Windsor a bit more I reckon, and has the potential to be so much fun.  So fingers crossed it comes to fruition.

Looks good and seems a logical move to switch the drop towers for ‘presumably’ a Madhouse style ride system.

Lets hope this actually goes ahead now following all the kerfuffle over the original system.

I guess this this is more akin to a juniorised Hex than Mystery Castle now.

Definitely a Madhouse, LOOK AT THE PLANS!

Good shout, will be the highest throughput in the park too... Do wish the warehouse wasn't so bloody obvious though and there was at least some looking into how better to hide it through location, rather than a simple plonk in the middle of the park...

There are plenty better locations than this for the attraction. Year on year Legoland loses its lush setting and any respite between the loud/crowded areas by building over every single landscaped patch possible. There will soon be no transition, just big attractions squashed in next to each other. That area by the driving school is already extremely crowded. The train also runs right behind the warehouse.

Very typically cheap of Merlin to just leave the rear end exposed too – Legoland didn't do that with the Dragon castle 20 years ago and that was when the park was much smaller.
