The on Wednesday in a work accident on the roller coaster in the new Europa-Park theme "Arthur and the Minimoys" live dangerously injured technician died hours after the accident at the clinic in Freiburg. He had been captured on a working platform of einemZug. A second mechanic was slightly injured in the accident. He is in the hospital with a concussion. On Wednesday morning, the two fitters, chef and staff were a Ettenheimer company, scampering preparatory work on a lift along the roller coaster rails. While the two were headed various positions of the lift, drove several features of the new roller coaster past the workers. 11.30 clock, the two men were hit by a through bandwagon of under test operating railway, the police are their investigation results again. In this case, a 35 year old mechanic was seriously injured. His 45 years old chief suffered minor injuries. The seriously injured has since died due to his severe head injuries in a Freiburg clinic. Why the prescribed safety regulations and warnings in the form of loudspeaker announcements were left on the part of the workers ignored, can not presently be said. Police are investigating yet.parking Roland Mack showed up on the edge of the celebration on the occasion of the award of the Order of Merit deeply affected by the tragic accident. "Our thoughts are with the family and the relatives of the victim," he said. For the 20 million euro project this tragic accident means a repeated postponement. The roller coaster "Arthur - In the Kingdom of the Minimoys" should be ready to start the season originally. Then there had been the technically complex train system problems, so that the commissioning delayed by weeks. Last time was of an opening before the Pentecost speech. Immediately after the accident, the work lay still on the plant, is still ongoing police investigations. When the new attraction is in operation, is still unclear.

With thanks to Google Translate.

By the sounds of it, it hasn't been ruled out the accident occurred due to either no safety call or that the workers ignored / didn't hear the call. Hard to tell from translations I guess.

This is a big shame; roller coaster construction is normally a safe thing and it's very rare for something like this to happen. Thoughts can only go out to the worker's family - it's a tragedy however you look at it. We can only hope that the Park themselves were not at any fault and that (assuming that's the case) they don't get too much bad press over this.

It's very sad when something like this happens in the themepark industry. I feel sorry for his family and hope the 2nd worker makes a quick recovery.

I hope this incident isn't the fault of Europa and doesn't give them a bad reputation as the effort they put in to everything at the park is fantastic.

Looks a great dark ride/coaster. Whilst it's certainly not on the leages of such rides as Wodan and Blue Fire (after all it's a family coaster) it looks a rather fun and immersive ride experience with some great theming and effects too, certainly very close if not, on a par with Disney's latest additions.

Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of IPs (unless they're in places like Disney and universal and other movie based parks), Europa have related snogger fantastic addition which has been perfected very well.

Just for a heads up, Europa Park would consider Blue Fire and Wodan as family roller coasters.

Paradise Alley looks FAAAAAAAAAB <3

This is an example of an IP done well, even if I have no idea what's going on storyline wise (because like most of the British population, I did not see the film or it's sequels)...

Taken a lot of inspiration from Wuze Town/Maya Land I think as well...

It was going to happen sooner or late I feel:

Europa-Park has finally announced its water park.

general facts:
- in development for 3 years now, but the idea has been around for 10 years
- at 30 ha (74 acres), it will be the biggest in Europe, and one of the biggest in the world
- inspired by international parks such as "Siam Park" (Tenerife) and "Great Wolf Lodge" (Wisconsin), but also local parks like "Titisee" en "Erding"
- polls have shown the guests want slides, not wellness
- there will be a lazy river, slides of every kind and lots of them, water playground, waterfalls, surf simulator
- no Olympic pool
- between 400,000 and 600,000 visitors a year
- construction will take 18 to 24 months
- cost of "triple digit" millions euro, no state subsidies

indoor area:
- divided in themed areas, no common tropical theme
- will be open year-round
- will have a restaurant
- up to 5,000 guests a day

outdoor area:
- wave pool, beach area, slides, gardens
- open from June to September
- up to 3,000 guests

other facts:
- the park will be built on the other side of town, a bus line will connect the current park and the hotels
- guests currently stay an average of 1.2 nights, the park hopes to raise this to 1.8 nights
- a 6th hotel is in planning stages, will be built right after the Waterpark

Arthur is a lovely ride! Was there last week and rode it 5-6 times. The whole Arthur area is a really beautiful piece of theming too.

The pov of Arthur doesn't tell a good story, the on ride audio is great, there's a lovely floaty experience on ride and the ride uses NFC on ride hosts wrists to lock and unlock bars!

I think Arthur has been underrated by many but it's a lovely ride...also has a very good queue line!

Had a ride on Arthur last week and for a family attraction it is very well executed. It's not quite Disney standard but then again I never expected it too be but the atmosphere and level of detail they have put into the whole area is superb.

Not sure about the locker system within the queue-line though, seems more trouble than its worth.

Overall a great addition to the park!

Guess who just won the Golden Ticket for Best Amusement Park?

This one... Presumably annoying all the Cedar Point fanboys in the process and the only European park to actually win one (making a change from, none)...

Excellent news, even if the awards don't really matter... Tis a testament to how good the park is...

the cedar point fanpages on facebook were in uproar earlier since europa won...... Just shows that Europa is a much better park and are only getting better and better! :)

Flying Turns was up for best new attraction though, so was up against the likes of Banshee and whatever else opened this year... It deserves an award anyways purely based on the fact it was actually built imo...

The top 10 steel coasters is crap though... All airtime machines apart from New Texas Giant, which should be in the wood category anyway if bloody Outlaw Run is in there...

S'all opinions anyways, problem is that we see these awards as not meaning anything because the same things win it year in year out, so they've become a parody of themselves...

Apart from Europa's highly themed areas, attention to detail, excellent looking attractions, shows and restaurants. It's crazy that an oversized typical American park didn't win... and I haven't been too either but Europa looks a complete experience! Not just full of large coasters many of which are apparently over rated anyway. It's okay though, Cedar Point fanboys can take a sigh of relief as Millennium Force is still the best steel coaster.

Best amusement park is the award not best theme park. Also I wouldn't say that the rides are overrated.

There's only one best 'whatever' park though, and as Europa is essentially better than CP in pretty every area aside from arguably the ride hardware depending on opinion...

CP isnt even the best park in America tbh...
