Alton Towers General Discussion

Oblivion was removed from ERT for most of last season, but occasionally opened.

As it was, Nemesis was the only thrill ride available for most of the year...

Great to see Oblivion back on. Can nip on that at the start of the day and then join the throng for The Smiler!

Hopefully they will still be employing the "entrance" for ERT next to Battle Galleons - I felt this worked much better than the awkward 'show your pass' procedure that was in place during 2012, anyway...!

Health and safety gone mad!

Does Health and safety go mad? Or is it the park knee jerking to some report it may have got somewhere along the line. A caution uneven step sign would have been more then adequate but for the park to just cordone it off with an ugly metal fence.. hmmm.

That pic actually shows WHY it's been fenced off, the state of the steps there are in no fit purpose for anyone to use that walkway because of the height difference between it and the path...

That of course doesn't mean the fence is ugly as sin... Are Towers allowed to touch up things like this I wonder? Or is it just a case of a dire fence being cheaper than replacing the stonework?

This is just ridiculous, Merlin are ruining this picturesque park by more stupid over safety measures. This doesn't just mean magical views there, but also put more pointless limitations on to our attractiones.

P.S there's a petition online to remove this monstrosity seen above. I recommend signing it.

Matt that isn't a monstrosity, its mildly ugly, but you can see the erosion of the steps itis quite dangerous sure, I liked walking on the thing, but it isnt the end of the world.

Plus this is a monstrosity...

I mean this is taking it too far... not a fence covering a eroded pathway.
