Fantastic to see the Challenge back! :)If this one only lasts for a week, there's no chance of me entering due to exams and stuff. If it lasts for 2 weeks, I should be able to enter in some form, though it probably won't be anywhere near as in depth as I would like to do. SO basically, watch this space.

here is my ideabubble works revived by the count, professor burp is now revived and alive,he had gone mad and turned his harmless bubbleworks into a rapids of doom, the outside is translvanian colours of purple and black with minor bits of red,the inside completely redone but all the theming is now the purple and red and looks doomy, friendly but doomy.you get shaken down the rapids and the final drop is larger into the water area with more rapids and more interactivity.it is imense anf un at the same time.how could mr burp lead to this fate!dont know how to upload the photos so will do later!

The bubbleworks should be themed around sweets and chocolate. Its the perfect theme which so many parks haven't done before! Alton towers did make a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride, but that seemed to be themed more like the movie than the idea of a factory full of sweets. The Bubbleworks would be renamed something along the lines of...the sweet factory, or candy land or perhaps even getting sponsership from a real chocolate company.... "Nestle's choclate vault". OR! Even keeping with the bubbly theme, the ride could be sponsered by Aero.I would go into detail about what the ride would consist of, but I'm sure you can guess what it would be like; chocolate fountains, lollys that are very big, marshmallows being used as pillows and mattresses... the ideas are endless.

This is my first challenge but they seem fun so here goes........During the Halloween Hocus Pocus the previous year a sign is put up saying 'for sale'. Later on in the week the sign changes to 'sold'Dr Garlics BubbleworksDoctor Garlic is the boss of the factory but also a vampire. The workers are an assortment of monster eg. Zombies Skeletons, witches. The queue - Keep the music that plays now. Entrance is back under the grand arch. The fence is painted black, the current red 'stripe' on the building is painted purple. On the TV's are totally Bubbleworks related videos such as adverts for different drinks and the occasional speech from Dr Garlic himself about the tour. The Station - You are immediately you are faced with the original bubbleworks music. Where the village was is now split in two. One side is a machine that powers the tour, the other is a stage for a band of ware-wolves playing different musical instruments. The boats have handles and crucifixes on the side (like coffins). The posters are all for products NOT seen on the tour. The Office - Again, original music but the desk Is a coffin and behind it sits Dr Garlic who is weighing a bottle. The scale has 'good' and 'bad' on it and a crate labelled 'good' sits next to the desk while a bin saying 'bad'. On the wall is a certificate from Popsford University. Other things include the fizz-ibility graph and a 'wash hands' sign. The (wicked) Witches Haunt - Upon entering, the chalkboard on the left is still standing but with a list of ingredients and I drawing of a cauldron. A witch is teaching child witches how to mix. The machine is now 'The Hubble Bubble Pump' with a pipe going across the room and 2 witches control it. Next to it, a witch is pointing her wand across the tour and hitting a target practice booth. In the booth, another witch bobs up and down covering her eyes now and then. The once known Foamer now has a can of 'Toil with extra Trouble' being crushed. The result goes through another pipe. The cow has been removed aqnd replaced with a witch stirring a cauldron labelled 'Witches Brew'. The tequila sun flowers is now the 'Broth Measurer'. Two rings have "Too Frothy" and "Just Right". Somewhere in the room, the Were-Band are dressed up in sombreros and playing the original Fiesta music. The Gasworks Crypt - Entering, there is a skeleton with a feather duster tickling a pair of feet. At the base of each tube lies a grave. Each grave is empty but as the tubes bob up and down a skeleton is revealed laughing. On the other side are bottles being filled labelled 'Giggle Tonic'. A sign on the wall reads 'No Smoking, Highly Inflamma-bubble'. Next to the bottles are the band playing clown hooters and things that make you laugh. The entrance to the next room is a giant freezer. The Freezer - There is no music in here but for the occasional gust of wind but the room has lots of icebergs. Zombies are fishing and reel up icebergs on there hooks. Baskets full of ice are next to them and there is on zombie tipping the ice into a funnel which leads to the Ice Extractor (reactor) the meter on the wall read either 'Over-Heating', 'Perfect' and 'Over-Freezing'. However if the needle falls all the way left or right the alarm music will sound through speaker next to the meter and the machine on the wall or 'The Heater' will have the red lights flashing and a zombie will pull a lever and the needle will return to 'perfect' and all goes quiet. When you get to the section where the bubble was you realise why there was no music because the whole band is frozen in ice.The Hawaiian Room - This room has the band playing the original music next to the hot tub. In the tub are Vampiresses bathing in the 'Blood Bath'. The spring water has been replaced with (actually I dont know so...), the elephant has been replaced with bats hanging from a beam and pooping in a tub with a sign saying 'Bat Gum-Droppings' and the massage duck is replaced with the 'Fang Whisker' where a set of false teeth with pointy fangs are used to whisk a vat.The Railway - In here, the waterfall has gone and now a dusty western background is there. A train (with moving wheels) speeds along the track and is pulling carriages full of blueberry's. A plaque on the train reads 'The Blue-Berry Railway'. The driver is an old bubble-worker from IL Bubbleworks and the band are sitting in the back carriage while the original music is played. On the other wall a blueberry squashing machine is whirring and squashing berries until they become a juice in a bottle of Blueberry Pop.The Haunted House - I would really like to re-design this whole room but I cant think how so:There is a Carton of milk on the scale. A ghost stands next to it and the milk would rise to the different levels like 'Meh', 'Shaking', 'Screaming' and 'Pant Wetting!'. Where the hatchery was is now a shaking booth where all the milk shakes led by another ghost. The room is themed to a haunted house and somewhere the band plays the original music except the hiccups have been replaced with screams, oooohs and BOO!'s.The Green House - Totally re-designed. The blank wall is painted like a garden greenhouse and plants are winding up. Different colour foam balls stick out. In the middle is a cabbage patch but filled with different vegetables. The gardeners are Frankensteins' Monsters and they are dressed in flowery aprons and straw hats. One is holding a watering Can, another is pulling a huge vacuum cleaner nozzle which leads to a blender. Here, another monster is controlling it and now and then it will whir flashing different colours. The juice is poured into glasses labelled Vegeta'bubble' Juice (6 of your 5 a day!). Only birds tweeting is heard because the band and one more monster have been wrapped up by vines and trapped against a trellis. The Staff Room - The old funfair is now the staff room The helter skelter now has an assortment of staff riding it as do the 2 spinning ride. The roller coaster is now the Sofa-Coaster and the cars are sofas with the different workers. The stall is now named Coca-Coffee (which has the same logo as Coca-Cola but without the Cola). The spinning wheels above the doorway power a generator thats keeps the attractions running. The Waste Room - Same as previous Bubbleworks, on the left is a conveyor belt with empty pop bottles travelling into a furnace with an industrial fan above. On the right are stacked crates with empty bottles. The hanging basket is full of rotting fruit and the original bubble-worker (the one with the orange head) is holding his nose and is about to cut the wire. However the biggest flashback is a revived Professor Burp standing on the balcony above the tour and holding a pipe labelled 'waste'. Every now and then water will spill onto riders below. The Lift - Riders are met with the alarm sound again and flashing red lights. Cables run up and down the walls and on the right are signs to fill the empty space: "Up you go...", "To Dr. Frankensteins Lab...", "Where you will be met", "With an astounding experiment." and "Be ready...", "To Smile!".Behind the signs are another set of cables but now and then, these will explode with electricity. As you can probably guess from the signs, the camera has been moved back to the drop. Above the hole, a metal sign is pointing down 'To the Lab'.The Lab - As you drop down you are met with the grand finale music. The walls have been covered with mirrors again making the room seem endless. As the main centre piece, a weird machine is hooked up to a giant pop bottle. The lights are changing colour from purple to green to blue and to red. Suddenly Dr. Frank pulls a switch on the machine and a buzzing can be heard. Then the cap flies off the bottle and water pours out at the same time the strobe lighting kicks in. The power showers have been replaced with more pop bottles that squirt water out. Opposite the machine is the band on a bandstand laced with fruit, tinsel and holly wreathes (like Prof. Burps old finale background). The Final Room - In the final room the band and Dr. Garlic have come to say goodbye.2 were-wolves hold up a banner saying ''Pop' in again soon!', another 2 are setting off fireworks and Dr. Garlic is waving goodbye right before the climb to the station. In case anyone wants to know the products and their tag lines here's a list:() Witches Brew - Mixed by the gals' in pointy hats!()Giggle Tonic - Bring back the life to your funny bone!()Ice Ice - An ever-lasting, cool drink for those hot summer days!() Vampires Pick - Quenches your blood-thirst!() Blueberry Juice - A lot of juice for those tiny blueberries!() Milk Shakes - Shaken AND Scared!() Vegeta-bubble Juice - Drinking your greens has never been easier!()Static-ade - No caffeine, No sugar! Just electro-fizzing goodness! And thats my idea. By the way I didnt write this all at once I wrote probably about 2 rooms every time I got bored. I also support the idea about the chocolate factory all though it is kind of cliché.Enjoy!

Bubbleworks Retheme – The Phantom FactoryStoryIn the streets of Translyvania, there is always a need for strange monsters and creations in order to help do whatever it is those mad scientists do, so they have to come from somewhere right? You have been invited by the strange and mysterious Count to tour his brand new monster creation factory to show you how the scares are really made...CharactersThere are 5 main characters that are seen within the attraction:The CountFrankie SteinVlad the VampireBob the WerewolfIgors (The workers inside the factory)Exterior/ QueueThe building colour is changed to a stone wall facade with some wooden trim and the current wooden fences changed into thick iron railings. The entrance is moved to the current fast-track entrance, and is split into two, where the fast-track follows its current route, whilst the main queue turns into the current extension and uses the rest of the current queueline. The buggy park remains in the current position and is heavily notified at the entrance.Several windows and posters are added to the outside walls advertising the all new factory tour, showing the various creations and items that get manufactured within. The windows show some of the devices created for ‘window shopping’.Station – Great HallThe station’s interior is transformed into a grand welcoming hall with stone walls and floors continuing the exterior theme, with several staff related items scattered around (hats/jackets/etc).An arched roof completes the appearance of the room. From which a giant chandelier sits covered in spider webs and with monster designs around it.The original ramp queue-line gets modified by removing the first two ramps and replacing them with a set of stairs leading up directly from the batch gate instead.A massive ‘VELCOME’ banner sits where the current coloured screens sit now.Various more posters and notices are placed on the walls surrounding the queue similar to the previous incarnations. The Townscape is removed and that wall is repainted in order to make it look like there are several corridors and other rooms that could be reached. A ‘window’ above this shows a dark sky outside and arcs of lightning occasionally flash.Staff are given capes and top hats in order to keep the theme going.Room 1 – ReceptionMuch like the previous versions of the attraction, the first room is the reception/welcome area where the first Count animatronic sits beckoning the boats deeper into the factory whilst holding a small model monster in his other hand. His desk is covered in various components and pictures of the 3 secondary characters (Frankie, Vlad and Bob) hang on his wall next to his newest and favourite invention. An Igor sits next to him holding a tea tray with a mug and some ‘bat biscuits’.Room 2 – Parts RoomWe now enter the main storage and work-room within the factory, we see several Igors sorting parts into heads, body, arms, misc, and attempting to put some together. Restrooms can also be seen like now, only with a few more doors for Igors, Monsters, etc.We see a teaching room where some younger Igors are being shown the main ingredients for Monsters where the old squash room was.The taps are kept but weathered/tarnished to keep in the new ‘darker’ theme and spit out red water. The infamous cow is removed and replaced with a giant cauldron with an Igor mixing it as monster parts are thrown in through a conveyor belt.Room 3 – Frankie’s RoomThe laughing tubes are completely removed and replaced by several tables with cables running everywhere along the floor and wall. A massive machine stands at one wall (leading to the Staff Room). If we look up we see an open roof showing a stormy sky and every so often lightning strikes and causes the new monsters to rise from their beds, but the pressure becomes too high and they fall back down.We see Frankie attempting to fix the machine by hitting it with a hammer/wrench.The Count is standing on the opposite side (where Prof Burp was) looking over the process.Room 4 – Staff RoomLots of Igors in here relaxing and patching themselves up in the Medical Room, Igor of the Week is displayed proudly on one wall, as well as a ‘No Accidents for X Days sign (which periodically increases and after a loud crash and scream changes back to 0), whilst vending machines are scattered around and the big bubble is replaced by a food area dominated by a big female Igor standing behind the food serving it.Room 5 – Wolf RoomThe bath is kept but turned into a ‘Wolf Dip’, created in order to put the fur onto the monsters. We see naked monsters travelling along (covering themselves and blushing), getting dumped in and being pushed along covered in fur.The other side of the room has the ‘Howl School’, where Bob is teaching new monsters the correct way to howl (which as they do, is in time with the music), and we also have the ‘Flea Bath’ where we have a queue of wolves itching their bodies and looking anxious waiting to enter a small sauna building.Room 6 – GraveyardFrom the current photo point to the hygiene room. The walls are covered in vines to make it appear that we have gone outside, with a scenic setting on the current waterfall piece showing off the factory’s graveyard, with most of the gravestones stating Igor (as they do all the dirty work so they’re the only ones who get affected by ‘incidents’ that occur in the factory. The Egg Scale is turned into Vlad hitting a Skeleton and his head flying up and hitting a bell (with a scale of strength with monster related signs), whilst the Hatchery is turned into Frankie playing a drum solo in time with the theme music on several Skeletons which say ‘OW’ in different tones.Room 7 – Crypt (Vampire Room)First difference in this room is that the roof is lowered a lot more to make it more Crypt-like, moss and lichen cover many parts of the wall. We see Vlad standing on a small platform looking towards 4 open coffins with Vampires in them. We realise that Vlad is conducting them and they are singing a random song (again, in time with the theme music).Room 8 – FairgroundAs the fairground is the second most iconic scene from the Bubbleworks, it should really be kept in any new version of it.However, like the rest of the ride, it would be started from scratch. The fairground area will go all the way from the Crypt to the Lift Hill, with the walls repainted to resemble a spooky version of Chessington itself with rides like Peeking Heights, Dragon’s Fury, Rameses Revenge and Kobra can all be spotted somewhere on the walls, and the new flat rides are parodies of existing rides at the park, include the Carousel (with monsters instead of horses), Sea Dragons (the ‘Sea Monster’ ride), Safari Skyway (with a track hanging over the area and a train filled with monster tourists passing through) and the zoo. Some sideshows are also present with the 3 secondary characters standing by them.We also now have the ‘Ghoster Coaster’ which is a more advanced version of the old Cola-Coaster system and shows a larger layout in the distance as well as the animatronic coaster system. Naturally, it is being ridden by ghostly figures, many with their arms up which could be done through a mix of models and projections to give the ghostly appearance.Room 9 – LiftThe lift now has flickering red lights as you proceed up, and sitting at the top is an Igor figure, which in time with the sensors at the top of the drop, pushes a lever which ‘drops’ the boat down the drop into the finale sequence. In addition to this, a portcullis door slowly starts dropping as the boat begins to drop which it ‘narrowly’ avoids.Room 10 – Fountain FinaleThe fountain finale is brought back to its original state with the walls completely covered in mirrors and the lights changing from red, blue and green before the strobes are activated. The centrepiece is the Count, Frankie, Vlad and Bob on a platform that rises up and down due to the numerous Igors underneath struggling with the weight from the characters as they celebrate their great new factory.Room 11 – ‘Come Back Soon’/Photo An Igor stands to the side holding an old fashioned camera which is really the disguised on-ride photo, stating that he wants to give you a ‘monstrous memory’ of your tour (See “Oi, Oi, Oi, I’m about to take your photo”) and that you should remain seated until factory staff inform you to vacate you boat in typical Igor voice (with a lisp).MusicThe music would be very Danny Elfman-like in order to provide a creepy but yet kid friendly theme. The Exterior music would be used as a Translyvania area theme more than anything, and the interior theme would have some nods to the original sets of music.

Benin that is absolutely fantastic! I'd love for that to come true, there are parts in there that genuinely made me laugh. Such a joy to read.I've come up with a brief backstory for my idea, which I'll post now, and add other bits as I go; I don't have the energy to do a scene by scene ride through right now (and plus I haven't completely worked out what I want in each scene )Remember this is a backstory, most guests won't ever read it, and it doesn't need to be read to understand the story, but there are elements throughout the ride that suggest certain aspects to it. Here goes:An impressive clock tower stands proudly above all, marking the entrance to a delightful Transylvanian village. Beyond the light- hearted ambience that fills the air, something terrifying lives. You can sense it behind the eyes of everyone that takes residence there... lives led in fear, the unknown... who will be taken next? One village resident, certain not to become a victim himself has not taken a step outside his home for decades; not since his daughter was taken. Oh, the many faces of a broken man...Dr Chessington is a wonderful man; skittery, odd and bubbly on the surface; with years of emotional torture only making him kind, caring and considerate to others. Quite a genius he is, too, responsible for many inventions such as the Garlicator - a device that gives the whole body a fragrant smell of garlic. For years, the concept of time has troubled and intrigued Dr Chessington. Inventing the time machine has become an obsession. Turning his home into a research facility, with an array of obscure and strange experiments attracting many local residents, eager to discover exactly what Dr Chessington is up to.And of course, not wanting to seem arrogant, Dr Chessington has now opened his home to the residents of the village who wish to find out for themselves. Setting up an elaborate tour, all who have the pleasure of experiencing it will get access to all areas and gain a better understanding of Dr Chessington.

There are some very creative ideas here. I love hearing and creating theme concepts, especially for dark rides.I will be entering, but not the same Bubbleworks retheme that I entered for the other challenge. Since that has already been done, and I have now decided I want the ride rethemed totally and started again from scratch, I am working on a new one.If only the real Bubbleworks was as unique as some of these ideas!

Even if I don't get it finished, I am still having fun designing my own Bubbleworks! It feels great being as creative as possible and thinking of new weird ideas. I have actually spent all my time so far on the exterior and station. I really try and push myself to make an idea appeal to everybody, as in big overall appearance and memorable effects, as well as detail appearance and immersive atmosphere. Plus I like doodling the concept art! ;) Or, maybe I am just rambling. :) One problem that I have noticed is the restriction of space around Bubbleworks. Thanks to an old photo, you can see that the cattlepen queue in front of the building was actually added later (probably at the same time that the entrance was moved from under the arhway). The available space must have been even worse then. There is barely anywhere else other than the covered walkway behind the arches to place a good, interesting queueline compared to rides such as Vampire or Dragon Falls. However, in the station, there is currently a lot of space not being used, even if it is also quite small in there.

Oops, I missed this deadline by quite a lot! So, who will I be voting for in this Bubbleworks-style election?SmartGuy, well the concept is not very imaginative and it would be impossible to make the current channel transit sytem more rapids-like. So, I won't be voting for your black, red and purple retheme idea, sorry!Treeis, I think any chocolate factory theme will be bogged down by sponsorships and gimmicks. As you said, it has already been done at Alton Towers, meaning the resulting ride with your chocolate fountains and giant lollies would be too similar. Sorry!Noob230 has a very creative idea, but it sounds too much of a mash of Bubbleworks as it is now, old Bubbleworks and a new monster-type theme. It is not very clear what the factory is about, but the scenes sound very distinct and characteristic. Some great ideas, especially having the band play the music in each scene. I love the simple humour of having little music in one scene and seeing the band frozen. However, I am not sure all of the ideas would work on a real ride and still look as fun as they sound, for example the 'Staff Room' would be a bit drab. It does have good consistency with the previous incarnations of Bubbleworks, however, and if it did come about it would be a lot better than what is there now. You entry almost gets my vote, but not quite.Benin has an amazing concept. Firstly, the name and setting of a 'Phantom Factory' is both simple and imaginative. It has a lot of potential and within your description it sounds as if you have created some great ideas for scenes. The station sounds well themed and I like the idea of the chandelier and arched roof, even if it is not as lively as it could be. Each scene has been well thought out and has its own characteristics, with charming effects and animatronics in a similar style to the old Bubbleworks. The actual theme of a monster factory is a bit dodgy, simply because Transylvania was initially meant to be 'a calm Bavarian village' with Vampire being the surprise around the corner, but this original setting has mostly worn off anyway, so I doubt the clash would be much of a problem. The characters are pretty lovable from the sounds of it and I would really enjoy going on your ride. I am voting for this entry.MikeyT has a good backstory, though it would suffer from the problem of most riders not understanding it. The idea of Dr Chessington going insane from 'emotional torture' is also rather frightening! :) Therefore it needs a bit more potential to actually become a ride, but is still a very good backstory.

Woopsy, :unsure:Little late results but, Well Done Benin! Absolutely fantastic ideas for Bubbleworks, hopefully we'll see something done to it soon.Once again well done  !And great entries by everyone, also, just to let everyone know, this was just a one off challenge as a very obvious idea popped into my head, therefore it will once again stop for a while at least.
