Unlikely but brilliant if it does happen. They did confirm that they are planning on opening a harry potter attraction but not a theme park. Really hoping they are planning on opening a theme park, will give Merlin a good kick up the backside . Competition is needed very badly in the UK.EDIT: Found this earlier. “It is going to be a large attraction where people can see where all the Harry Potter films were produced. There won’t be any other place in the world where you can see actual sets and see actual place of filming, but it is not going to be theme park – it is going to be an exhibit.”The articile this was taken from was posted in November so plans could have changed...but very unlikely.

I don't get all the fuss about it not being in England. America has a huge fan-base out there. Most importantly, they have the space, funding, passion and lack of planning restrictions to do it justice. Anything on a large scale in England will keep getting scaled down due to funding and planning restrictions until we end up with a sub- standard attraction that nobody is happy with.

Read this bit: Warner Bros bought the sprawling 170-acre site outside Watford in a £100million deal last year. At the time they outlined low-key plans for a modest “visitor attraction” at the former Rolls-Royce factory. Now this: Now it is clear that Warner Bros’ plans are much more ambitious. The firm has now registered The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the title used at the Florida park, as a trademark in the UK. And this explicitly covers amusement park rides.

I don't know what's better, cheesy and happy dark ride with lots of happy looking cocoa beans scattered about the place...or awesome new state of the art dark ride with huge dragons and giant spiders, state of the art animantronics themed to the Harry Potter characters and an amazing KUKA arm ride vehicle that sends you hurtling different directions?I think CADABRA is better..... NOT:rolleyes:

Yeah thats if we get anything like the universal rides. Could always end up with something like Kingdom Quest (Lego discovery centre).

They can always re-theme the attraction to another film :P. Leavesden will be WB's European base so there will no doubt be another franchise that they can use for the attraction once Potter gets old...but as they are likely to do a remake in 20 years...I can see potter staying .EDIT: From Mugglenet

Since posting this story we've heard from Romley Davis, a company who is working with Warner Brothers to create the museum at Leavesden Studios. They've confirmed to us that there are currently no plans for a UK park.Additionally, we can now exclusively reveal that an announcement will be made this Thursday regarding the behind the scenes look at Harry Potter being built at Leavesden Studios - the place they've filmed all eight Potter films! We'll post as soon as we get the info.
