A Creaky Perspective on 2014

So Christmas is almost here as 2014 gradually comes to an end in what has been one of the most mixed years for everything [in what could easily be material for a new soap opera]. However here I will only be mentioning the theme park side of things [after all it's a theme park forum). Unfortunately compared to a number of active members here such as Benin, my theme park collection trip is on a much smaller scale, as someone quoted to me talking about how comparing Thorpe park to Universal &

Legoland A Brickmas Special

With closed season no more than 3 weeks in and the blues, I was in major need of a major themepark kick to keep me going during this bleak season. Seeing as many are off (or even been already) to Disney Land Paris , something which for me is sadly not an option (at least at the moment (roll on 2015)). Apart from Winter Wonderland & the midway attractions (places I'll hopefully get to see next month), there was one other option left. Legoland Christmas event. Arriving just after 12:30pm (

25 Experiences Better than Storm Surge

With all the extreme conflict going on within a certain topic (this closed season), I thought now round be a good time to do this list of 25 experiences which I believe are better than riding on Storm Surge. Yes I know it's Colossus you first notice, but it's definitely in the picture. Anyways, here goes. 1/ riding Saw the ride with a hangover 2/ getting too drunk On a special ocassion (and regretting it the next day 3/ not getting a ride on Searm or inferno all day 4/ queuing 3 hours fo

Creaking North part 4 Merpool's Tower Of Terrific-ness

Hi and welcome to Part 4, the final instalment of Creaky Northern Adventure. After a pleasurable day at the pleasure beach, a night of exploring two of Blackpool's [best] piers and a not so bright Coral Island, the trip was set to continue on the 2nd day which would conclude the trip. The big question, where would be heading to next? With so much to do at Blackpool, you'd struggle so much to find any exciting attractions and ones that stand out from the others, after all it's not there's any

Creaking North Part 3 Illuminated at night

Hi and welcome to this third part of my exciting weekend in Blackpool. Here's how the story continues after our wet immersive ride on Valhalla. It's heading towards the end of the day and twilight has arrived [no the ride sadly]. The park looks really beautiful at sunset, and despite being the tail end of the day it just makes the park come to life, it looks just as beautiful as Thorpe does at this time of day. By now it was time for some final evening/ twilight rides. Another rou

Creaking North Part 2 Big Things Require Big Expectations

Welcome back to part 2 of my exciting trip report at Blackpool. Lego Spongebob welcomes you to this next big instalment of the blog [Wow! are we at Legoland now?] Speaking on Big, I think it's finally time I give this giant a ride then! It's a massive beast that dominates the whole park, so it should an amazing ride then ;]? And it's time to review, Vertical Reality! In 1994, the big one was a massive tall beast that was major large scale ride and investment along with being the tall

Creaking North- Part 1 Pleasure Of The Beach

It's been my intentions over the last few years to try and visit to try and visit a new theme park or attraction each year, which started with Alton Towers in 2012 and Harry Potter Studio Tour, Madame Tussauds, The Dungeons along with a return to Oakwood [after 15 years] in 2013. At first I wasn't expecting to receive any new park credits for 2014 with Paultons Park called off and Euro disney put on hold. This year it was my intentions to visit a park that was of the following, 1/ was a major p

A Themepark in Europe

As part of my annual holiday, I would have the opportunity to see and visit one park [just one] outside of the uk and the Merlin circle. But the big question is, which park would it be? Well it's definitely not Port Aventura for starters. Nor is it Europa Park. And it certainly is not Disneyland Paris either [more to come on that tagline later]. But the big question is, which theme park in Europe did I manage to visit this year? The answer to that question is Tivoli World. But the

Chessington- A World Of Adventure Once Again

One and a half months in to the 2014 season and it was time for a visit to the world of Chessington which would be my first visit there for 2014 after last visiting April 2013. Seemingly been in neglect over the last 5-10 years (although my first visit was actually 2006) with declining upkeep, operations and overall care, I kept my expectations for the place rather low. This brings the question, has the park improved this year or is the downward spiral at the park continuing? Surely the park c

Legoland Windsor- Everything Is Not Awesome

After accomplishing a sufficient amount of work at uni, I thought it was time for a visit to Legoland Windsor. Supposedly my home park (as this is where my pass is sorted), this would be my first visit to the park for 2014 to see what changes had taken place and to check out the new (re-themed) attractions at the park. In the near distance lies Pirate Shores, the re-themed Pirate area of LegolaƱd and also the area's 3rd retheme since it's existence. I was rather impressed with the parks rec

Tivoli World-a love-hate themepark part 2

Hello and welcome to Part 2 of my Tivoli World report A.K.A My Drunk Camera goes to a themepark. Most of the photos may be rather blurry, but they will hopefully give you some idea of what the park has on offer. Previously in part one, we saw a number of major attractions the park has on First up we have this Jurassic like attraction, which features numerous rock and vegetation theming elements. More theming. Sadly this photo didn't turn out as well, but in the distance, a dinosaur

Tivoli World- a love-hate theme park Part 1

Whilst on holiday summer 2013, I visited Tivoli World. A small theme park located in the southern Spain. The entrance to Tivoli, decorated in bright warm colours waiting to welcome many guests in to the park. The area here retains a fairly grand appearance, however perhaps a little dated in terms of design. After walking up the rather steep hill, most of the park resides on and buying the Supertivolino, a wristband that lets you go on most of their rides for free during the day, it was time t

Oakwood Trip 30.08.13 part 3

Hello everyone, following the dramatic events of part 2, part 3 is now here to reveal more adventures involving the magnificent seven during their day out at Oakwood theme park. Previously on part 2, Peaj, Topsyturvy 15 & EC! were found guilty of a number of crimes and setanced to death on Vertigo. Now restrainted together, the Vertigo process begins with the trio strapped for their doom. The wires raise them higher and higher off the ground until the dropping process begins. Whic

Oakwood Trip 30.08.13 part 2

Welcome back to part 2 of my trip to Oakwood with Peaj,Ethan,Phill,Ben,Sarah & Jamiiee. Previously on the adventure, TPM suddenly got teleported back to London by a mysterious gateway, but what escapades will unfold in this section? Whilst walking round London trying to find a way out, everyone spots a road named Oakwood which is deemed coincidental seeing we were there Oakwood only moments ago. But soon hopes are suddenly brought back when a Tinkerbell flying machine is found within

Oakwood Trip 30.08.13 part I

Hello everyone, here's my trip report of my visit to Oakwood which I was finally able to make it to the park after visiting over 15 years ago during a small family holiday in which I was unfortunately too small for the park's bigger attractions at the time. So after waiting years and years and the long drive, would it be worth all the effort to make it? After travelling a long far distance, Peaj welcomes everyone to Oakwood for a long exciting day with support from Jamiee. After much debat
