    That new map is awfull, as said previously it has no use as a map as it does not show any of the paths or ride entrances. That and the two people having sex behind rumba rapids, and the guy with his arse hanging out to the right of stealth!Out of interest if its on the map that you can make out behind rumba rapids, I wonder what would happen if someone did that, and stated that its false advertising or somthing. :P hehe

    To be very honest, at the moment I doubt it'll even be open on opening day. Apparently the ride's "secret weapon" is having huge technical difficulties which has resulted in the preview weekend being cancelled and boot camp event being postponed

    I dont think its having huge problems just that the snow etc has pushed a tight deadline even tighter regarding the completion of the dark forest area, there still saying 20th March on there website yet have removed about the preview weekend.The guys at towerstimes got hold of Morwenna whos the Alton Towers sales and marketing director and he had this to say Quoted from towers times member Joel

    We took the decision to run the Preview Weekend, the first of its kind for the Resort, some months ago recognizing that some of you would welcome the opportunity to experience the TH13TEEN, have a behind-the-scenes tour and learn about how the ride was conceived and marketed. An event of this nature takes a huge amount of organisation and planning particularly as we wanted to make it as special and as unique as the ride itself. As those of you who have received the email are aware, TH13TEEN is an incredibly sophisticated ride and we have experienced some minor technical difficulties during testing. What we have also experienced is some incredibly bad weather over the first few weeks of the year meaning that an enormous amount of work still has to be completed in the TH13TEEN ride area as well as Ug Land which is being rethemed which is why we cannot allow access to the ride area, Ug Land or indeed Rita.I understand your disappointment and frustration at the weekend being cancelled but we have made this incredibly difficult decision because we could not guarantee the access and the experience that you would expect from Alton Towers Resort. I also understand some of you are rightly annoyed at the short notice which has come about because I had hoped that we would be able to show you some elements if not all – it has become clear over the last 24 hours that this would not be possible.Once again, please accept my apologies for the cancellation which is totally unavoidable as I now hope you will appreciate.     Well that's a fair point - many engineers did start off in Rides and after completing Winter Maintenance in Engineering team they got apprenticeships however taking a job role for one year in something that isn't as good can show you have enthusiasm and you can easily change departments.Good justification though, don't give up the dream though, honestly!

    Hmm ive always wanted to do maintenence for the theme park industry. I recently did all my welding NVQ's as last time they recruited they asked for that and a degree in engineering. They had 3 engineering jobs going last year :) Do they really offer apprentiships ? Considering what is required that must cost the park a fortune I mean a recognised advanced welding course alone is like a grand :S

    Ahh I was just coming to post that!! :wub:I love them! 9 rows of 2, so 18 people per train, therefore we can work out the average ride time, because I'm clearly that sad. Seriously though, those trains are sexy!

    Urrrrr I think if I squint I can see 10 rows, as theres 5 cars each with 2 rows :S so 20 people per train. I agree tho the trains are quite sexy, that said tho I cant help but feel dissapointed, maby its cause jordans fella is sitting in it and not me!!!

    Hmm I have to say on a personal level that this years ERT wont be as good for me, I mean Nemesis at the end of the day (45 min before ride close) is always walk on when I go, along with Oblivion. I enjoyed Rita last year in ERT as its a difficult ride to get on without queuing. However I can see that they dont want the dark forrest /Ug rammed with people. That said il be using my ERT on 25th march to queue for thirteen lol. :(

    Fine...fine...

    A whole section of track will freefall. It won't be a big drop, but like the london dungeon's, it will still pack a punch.

    Pretty exiting eh?

    Well we all knew it was a drop already just didnt know if it was going to be freefall or tilting. :S I personally think that there may be some kind of effect on the drop that makes it seem alot bigger than it is.
