  1. Actually mate, it wasn't a general application, so I think you are silly one. You put down the departments you would be willing to work in, I only put rides so they should have at least warned me so I could of withdrewn my application.

When did you apply? I have only seen the general application form. It does have all of the departments available but they will redirect you to the general page. There is no need to be rude I was only pointing out,
  2. After hearing that I'm kind of glad I didn't get an interview. I'd only ever take a job there if it was in R&A. I'd have been so peed off I I did the whole assessment day and then found out. I agree, they should have told you before the assessment centre. Especially for the likes of me who has to travel 2 hours each way.

When you apply it was a general application for all jobs. There was never a guarantee you would get R&A, you would be silly getting your hopes up for it aswell as its the most popular position available. I will post tomorrow when I get back and tell you how it was =]
  3. Thanks for the advice..

Just a warning to everyone. THORPE ARE NOT OFFERING RIDE POSITIONS TO UNDER 18'S. Found this out today :P They offered me admissions or enviro but I said I'd wait another year :'( I think this is really wrong, they should have emailed me to tell me this rather than make me come to the assessment, do all the tasks etc and then sit down for the interview and 'Right, we have you down for admissions, yes?' My heart sank when I heard this. :D

also I'm not that bothered if I'm not offered a position on r&a, as long as I get a job there. Its all a part of the experience.
  4. Thorpe Park do not email you the Assesment Centre Dates & Times. They will only email you to tell you whether or not your Application has been successful. If your Application is successful, you will then have to select a Date & Time from the list provided on your People Bank Account. But this list only shows up if your Application has been successful/accepted.

Basically I my application has been accepted and I was told I would recieve an email inviting me to attend an assessment centre and interview. So I think it may have been done differentley to previous years.
  5. I will tell you about it, from the information that other members of this forum have given me. I personally haven't been through the process myself. On the day, you will go to the Assessment Centre at the park, and you will complete various activities throughout the day, in both groups and individually. During the day, assessors are looking for enthusiasm, and how you work with other people in a team (which is essential in R&A). Following the assessment, will be an interview on a one-to-one basis. Don't worry, the days are designed to be a lot of fun, and you should meet lots of new people. The assessment days are a fantastic opportunity to show what a great asset to the THORPE PARK team you would be. So, make sure you take the opportunity! The main thing, is to relax and enjoy yourself. Be yourself, and let them see why you would be perfect for the job. Within 14 days after attending an Assessment / Interview, you will be telephoned to tell you whether you have the job or not.

Wow thanks for that. Sounds like quite a good experience and I have been told a work well in a team so thats good.
  6. Grr... Just few more years, I will probably try and work at chessie though :D

I did think about applying for chessie but I never did in the end and stuck with thorpe. Can anyone give me some details on how the whole assessment centre works and where it is held? They did also call it a recruitment event, is this the same thing?
