Howl For Halloween

For several years now, there's been something on my theme park bucket I've always been wanting to tick off now for a long time. No, not Baron 1898 [although soon hopefully], not Europa Park either I'm afraid, however keep an eye out for MC16 which is happening soon, some hints to what this may even appear in this very blog entry. This something is of course on home soil and relatively simplistic in all honesty. It's Chessington's Howl O ween event. It's been something I've planned for over tw

Welsh Creekender Part 2 Dr Cardiff

After an impressive 12 hour plus day at Oakwood,we returned back to our hotel [Travelodge] where I dropped off to sleep pretty quickly that night [doesn't happen much really], but that was probably for the best with another big day ahead of us in Cardiff. We started our day at Cardiff Bay, a rather picturesque port with shops, restaurants etc. [note the large building in the background]. OMG, It's Kings Cross! And there's a chair ride next to it [it's not Kings Cross] Myk & Shinequ

Welsh Creekender Part 1 Oakwood Theme Park

On the Weekend 15-16th August, I returned to the place of hills and valleys. That place was Wales, and it was here that I lost my virginity; my 'Wooden' Roller Coaster virginity that is [why, what else were you thinking of ] .To make things easier, we actually travelled up on the friday [the traffic was still pretty poor though] and arrived at Cardiff around mid afternoon. As most weren't set to arrival for several hours, we hit the City for a bit which reminded me a cross between Worces

Great Creekwood Land- Part 3 Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach

Following on from the joys of Joyland, it was time to experience the third and final new park wonder of our park trip; this place was Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach. After driving down the seafront from Joyland, something that seems a cross between a larger Southend and slightly cleaner Blackpool, we arrived at the Pleasure Beach's car park which more of just a grassy field on the seafront really, luckilly though it was free for us [due to tickets]. So once we collected our wristbands from

Great Creekwood Land- Part 2 Joyland

Carrying on with my mini park road trip, after leaving Pleasurewood Hills just after 3:30pm, we headed on our way to Great Yarmouth. But before experiencing the wonders of the Pleasure Beach [not the Blackpool one], we first headed to Joyland, which is a tiny park just a bit further up the sea front from the Pleasure Beach. The park is so tiny you walk around it in less than a minute, however we were there to experience some interesting new rides [and creds]. The entrance to Joyland, for a pa

Great Creekwood Land- Part 1 Pleasurewood Hills

Whilst Jadam, Josh & Peaj had a massive theme park road trip in Europe last month. I [sort of] had my own last weekend with Mr Fish, Myk & Shinequa [although on a much smaller scale] as we hit all the parks in the Great Yarmouth area visiting several new parks which would give a nice little splash to my list of parks visited, ride creds and new parks in 2015. After making my way to Stevenage via Kings Cross [so that tom Tom could get me] through an underground commute I hope won't happe

Creeking New Heights- My First Ever Coaster Climb

Causing a bit of a gap to the long speculated trip reports of certain members visiting several new major parks [surprisingly not Benin in this case], you may be wondering what the Creek will be able to provide to contend with this. If you were hoping for reports of new visited parks and the like, you may leave feeling rather disappointed [there are big plans in the works for the near'ish future though], however what I will offer instead will be in the shape and form of unique and different theme

An Alton Tower-less Weekend

Many Weeks ago I had planned and booked a weekend away at Alton Towers, to check out the new attractions, re ride the existing favourites and a behind the scenes lift hill walk on the Smiler . However unfortunately, 5 days prior to our trip, a terrible accident on the Smiler occurred, resulting in the park being closed for days and the park's worst ride accident in it's history. With our plans changing constantly on the few days before including a proposed changed walk to Nemesis instead, by th

Disney & The Creek Part 3 Rock N Rat Tower

Despite our slightly stumbly trip back from Mcdonalds, we made it back to the hotel in where Part 3 of the trip shall now entail. After a waking alarm at 7am, packing our bags and everything, we headed back to Disney, this time using Peajy Taxis instead of the train. During the 2nd day at the park, we gain a sixth person to our party, Sam [Lightyear93] as one of my sixth form mates was able to join us for the day [who is currently doing a placement in Paris]. He too has a Disney Pass. Aft

Disney & The Creek- Part 1 Breaking Of The Spell, Everything's Magic

Once Upon A Time, in a land of Merlin empire lived a Creaky Themepark Fanatic who had a life long dream to visit Disneyland Paris. Living under the curse for 21 years, many attempts to break the spell in 2014 were unleashed, but none prevailed. However many months later in to 2015, The Creek encountered Buzz Lightyear & Remy who cooked together a magic plan. Joined by a Mickey Taking Sorcerer. And The Spell Was Broken!!! Matt Creek had made it to Disneyland Paris. Transformed back t

Southenders

Following my eviction from the concrete jungle island during February, it was off to a whole new kind of Island. Where could we be going? Why to Adventure Island Southend of course! Where all the action is happening! Expect Lots Of Rage [is better than Saw The Ride] Plenty of Whip [a great little ride] A Helter Skelter of drama Fury from Pharaohs [it's just a standard twister really [but quite well themed] And extreme conflicting Time Machine [I didn't do this rid

Nearest Creaky Experiences (so far) to Disney Land Paris

As very much everyone is aware, I will (hopefully) be making my first ever trip to a Disney park one month from today, a time even this far off I'm absolutely buzzing for. However, still being a 'Disney park virgin' for the time being, I though I would conjure up a series of rides, places and attractions ive been on that I believe the closest 'present' experiences I've had to the authentic disney rides I shall be riding, whether the result of this is fairly close or just a complete joke in comp

Fifty Screams Of Creek (Thorpe Park February Half Term)

For 2015, it is my intention to make each and every blog loosely based on something from film and television. Within a spin of an old caroulsel from the end of the last season, the 2015 park year has somewhat come upon us and for my first theme park kick of 2015 why not spend it my home park Thorpe? (Chessie and towers were too far ) We begin our trip in to the wild (concrete) Jungle here. All bush tucker trials have been mentioned on the board for the experience. I'M AN ENTHUIAST GET M
