  1. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr............

At TowersTimes we have spoken to management and we have taken the decision to blur out the secret element of SW7 when it arrives until it’s covered.

This is entirely our decision, and the reason we have come to this conclusion is as we don’t want give away every aspect, because it may ruin some of the anticipation. However once Alton Towers gives the go ahead for the secret element to be reviled, or another fan site leaks conclusive photos of what it is, we will show you our construction photos in full detail.

Taken from towers times, who clearly know what the secret of SW7 is and won't share!

  2. Went to Fright Nights yesterday and what can I say...

After boyotting the event last year because of the failure that was 2010 fright nights we decided to go again. We got on park at about 12:20...headed straight over the THE SWARM with a 45 minute queue. This was the first time I had seen the flame effect and the LED eyes in action and it was awesome. We managed front row on the LHS.

After the Swarm we headed over to Pizza Hut which was absolutely heaving...

We then had a behind the scenes tour of the Asylum which was the absolute highlight of the day...great tour. Following the tour we were the first in the Asylum much to the distaste of the people queuing ages for it.

We then went over to Experiment 10, we queued a good 90 mins for this due to a technical fault...Great maze...best in the park or so I thoguht...

Our time to die was 17:00. We had heard mixed reviews...but needed to se it for ourselves...

    EPIC. AMAZING. TERRIFING.

The passing is a must do maze...worth the £3.

We then managed nemesis twice and the swarm front row a further 2 times!

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Alton struggling to fill their current hotels?

I thought they were struggling too...dont get me wrong...these Hobbit huts are different to the usual hotels and will attract a different visitor...but they will be extortionate.

  4. Must add that several of my non enthusiast friends have also said this during this year.

It doesn't help that Saw Alive and Canada Creek Railway (and Fungle Safari the last three years) are all standing as if they are rides that should be open, but simply closed that day.

On top of that one of my friends who had never been before commented on the poor condition of the foilage in Saw The Rides queue line and said "Are they that tight and money grabbing that they don't employ gardeners".

If time was spent making the place look nice and removing SBNO rides then I believe they could easily get away with not having anything new as people would want to return. The place looking run down And no new ride could possibly put people off.

Completely agree...in recent years it has seemed to be a bit like Roller Coaster Tycoon (Storm Surge just being plonked in a gap where it barely fits). Thorpe should remove all of the SBNO rides completely and utailize the spaces...perhaps not for a ride but for catering maybe? I do value storm surge though because if you look at previous investment patterns 2007 Minimal (flying fish), 2008 Minimal (Time Voyagers), 2009 Large (Saw), 2010 Minimal (Saw Alive), 2011 Minimal (but looks medium to large (Storm Surge)).

For the patern of investment, I think that storm surge is fine...just in the wrong place.

As for next year...I can see a lot of work on existing rides being carried out over the winter.
