  1. It is not meant to last for long. A horror maze's life span is only 3 or so years really.

I know that its just the belle has so much potentail and considering thorpe park will only dock it after 5 years! I would like to see something done to it!
  2. oh it will this year being so busy due to th13teen! Plus stealth goes 80, making it much harder to launch. The oil needs to heat for that matter but it takes a much longer time to thats why it never goes in the morning in the winter usually!

  3. I can take a big swing and say stealth breaks down during fright night 1. it is running for 12 hours straight and a ride like that cant really cope and 2. the colder it gets into fright nights the longer the time the oil has to wark or at all!

  4. Time voyages would best be suited to a simulator and a proper queue because then people would all flock to it because it look official. because being thorpe park you have to have a queue :D

  5. I dont see why thorpe would just get rid of saw alive when the lease is up! If I were them I would (in 5years) turn it into a haunted looking belle and instead of having actors have automated stuff like alot of TOTT is at the begining. I feel this is a much better idea than just getting rid of it. If you added air cannons etc you could make a full on haunted house/mill!

  6. They have the whole closed season to retheme it, that is long enough to install many effects. If Thorpe Park want an exciting dark ride, all they need to do is research, plan, think, spend and create.

I dont know weather you have noticed but the track is very close to each other so creating something along the lines you were thinking I dont think could go there but It would be a great thing to have but being thorpe park I very much doubt it. Thorpe park can show just how they can blow £60 thousand on stuff which mostly does not get used!
  7. I am not a big fan of spinning tunnels, but the idea could easily be developed to create something far greater. Perhaps a sequence like this for one of the break runs:For example, the train could stop on one of the break runs, enclosed in a small tunnel. A door shuts in front of you, seemingly locking you in (this could be achieved by lowering a themed door from above, stopping only slightly above the track). The whole tunnel then begins to rotate (the door as well, using a motor in sync witht he rest of the tunnel), and because everything you see is turning you don't get the problem that normal tunnels have. Also, since it started turning after you became locked in and you are not simply travelling straight through it, it adds an extra element of danger and uniqueness.

I like the idea but far to complex for such a ride, plus this would cause the ride to be closed for a rather long time I feel to produce somthing like you suggest! But the tidy up and new lights I totally agree with!I dont see what wrong with having a few lights and a couple of pannels throughout the ride to look like the workings of a computer!
  8. I also do not see Saw alive staying in the long run and I think thorpe park will only have it operating on say special events and busy periods such as summer! I do like saw alive but unlike saw the ride once the films have dies down you have not got a chance of making it worth while!

  9. X should keep the lights on but I have the same colours as the queueline lights to be honest! How hard is it to go buy a disco light? They are only about £20 and it would make the whole ride so much more enjoyable!Plus on the topic of queueing inside and outside I love to queue inside but it can be really uncomfortable in the dark and when someone lets rip inside!

  10. Is it just me or does stealth suffer badly during fright night after about 6 at night? What was the problem 2 years ago when it was only open for the first week of fright night then no longer opened again untill next season?

  11. I know many people don't like X or dont think its worth staying! But we all know it is staying for a good few years to come, and in my opinion if your to have a ride you are to keep it to standard no matter how popular or boring it is, you don't go to a posh resturant where the food is expensive, if the resturant is filthy do you? So its the same with X thorpe, you have it you keep it to a standard of the entrance price!!!Also all this talk about wanting to get rid of it, I think if that happened it would happen exactly the same a black hole at alton towers and being left for years with nothing inside!!!

  12. But Thorpe isn't open at Xmas, why would you buy christmas decorations?

Disney has an all year christmas shop and shops like that always do well! Its one of the only shops in disney as well as the glass place where I see it packed! Thats what thorpe need more than just pens pencils and whats the deal with selling divds and t shirts that have nothing to do with thorpe park!?
  13. I finally saw the swinging blade today, and it really is rather pathetic. In a scare maze it is the effects and actors that matter, and you need both. A swinging blade could have been really good, but instead you get a sound effect and dodgy lighting that easily goes unseen.Instead of having two static props and lighting them at different points (not even lit very well, you can see that they do not move and both lights seem to overlap each other), you should have at least several props lit by strobes or some sort of projection. An actual swinging blade would be brilliant but with actors in that area I understand why that could not happen. The projection could work if the brightness was dim enough to look realistic, and if it was projected on to a prop. Well, anything really that makes it look realistic and noticable, at the moment it is a tad cringe worthy!Outside Saw Alive I noticed something new (although it has probably been there for ages), the leaking container of corrosive substances. I think that is a great touch. More effects and more theming in that area would be much loved, but, hey, that isn't going to happen. Let's be greatful for what we do have, eh? By the way, has anybody else noticed the lack of wig on Billy in scene 2? :P

Yes but that would have cost thorpe park an extra £10 and they cant afford that :)
  14. This is my full Review of Saw alive in my opinion! The area:The area consists of both Saw the ride and Saw alive both of which have been havily themed and overgrown outside, apart from the rather tacky looking shop in which my opinion does not fill the gap correctly! The new pathway between zodiac and saw alives current entrance is not themed at all apart from that the outside is very impressive! The queue: The queue for Saw alive features a cattle pen queue with high wooden fences and the enclosed barbed wire fence all of which to a claustrophobic may be an uncomfortable wait although Saw alive is ment to be claustrophobic and worse so Fair do! Its a shame to hear the same audio as Saw the ride being played outside. The queue is tight so you feel as though you are always moving and That is pleasing! Theming is sparse in the queue itself unlike Saw the ride but this is all to come later. As you get closer to the front of the queue there is a fence pannel which has been built in really tight and sometimes is a problem if you have a larger item! Saw alive is a fastrack ride unfortunatly! But as I have seen not many buy them and there are very few fastrack and very few Disabled due to it being a walkthrough! Batching: Batching is quick and in large numbers of about 10-12 depending on how busy it is and what group sizes there are. The batching seems to work in 3 stages 1st wait at the end of the plank way leading onto the Belle. 2nd you are told to enter where a staff member does the safety announcement then 3rd you are taken inside in your group where you are met by another staff member in the dark where you photo is taken with Billy the Puppet then you enter the maze. Its a shame to not see the staff especially doing the photos not dressed up as well becuase straight after the photo you are flooded with costumes and actors! The Maze Experience:Swat room: Is rather bizzare and needs to be rethought due to the line I heard by the actor 'I dont know why they keep brining you through here' and that is a pathetic line for a story what a way to blow it! No scares seem to really happen in this room unfortunatly and the back of the queue never gets any scare if there is one in this room!Bathroom: Is a fantastic well themed stinky room but very very small. Usually there is one actor in here and not usually cutting his foot off, so is does not follow the story line exactly. Also due to a pillar in this room most people miss Jigsaws body on the floor on the right which I feel is a key element to the room but besides that you can usually get a good scare!Electric room: This is a mini Asylum when you have actors in it, but usually it is a rather queit room with only the vibrations to 'scare you' This has the potential I feel to be the best room in the maze providing they have Actors in there throughout that section Plus I do beleive this room is the Largest room in the maze, So when there are no actors it does feel empty.Freezer: Girl in chains standing still then she moves if you have not gone on the attraction before it is scary otherwise you know it is coming. Plus the room never feels that much colder so I do feel it looses some of its plot once again! Mausoleum Trap: Fantastic scares in this room due to heavy fog and the sudden bang of chains and the wonder of how far they can get to you with the chain. Once again a pillar is in this room and reduces the size so not the best for space but the best currently for a scare. I have noticed this is the room where if you are going to get caught up in another group this is where you will do. Mainly due to groups in front scared stiff of the chain dragging by the actor. Still very good scares. What you dont realise throughout the maze you have all havy metal rock music which is played in the movies and my word it makes the whole maze alot more intense!Pendulum Trap: Is the most annoying room becuase you cant really scare someone in this room, becuase the blades dont move, They are there but for reasons probably due to the size of the room and actuall danger of both actor and guest (they were never intended to move anyway) all you get is to hear them moving in the darkenss. Then the actor is in you face rather than on the table where she was when you entered!Carosel Trap: Air, Actors and sound effects usually 2-3 actors are in this room hiding in the shodows and climbing on the fencing all this whilst you are getting shot at by the air cannons on the or what looks like in the guns. Nothing exciting in this room and you fizzle out of this room to the exit!Exit: Is where you can buy you photos from then head on out into daylight where normal audio returns and no more heavy metal! You notice how many smells there were once left becuase you can smell the fresh air to the smoke and urine!Overall: Its is a fantastic atttraction for its size and having to do this all year, some rooms need improving but it will all come in time, the actors have got into there roles fantasticly, I feel the main problem is Saw is not a 'scary' film its more guts than scare and making a horror maze out of it is very hard to congrats to all the actors in there. Unfortunaltly I stick by my point where you have Saw the ride at 90 minutes saw has less than 30 minutes and I could maybe see Saw alive only opening for main holidays and events! But overall I give it 8/10 for theming as I say some rooms way to small and 7/10 for scares due to saw not being a horro so overall it gets 8/10Does anyone have any points to make about this?

  15. Wasps are everywhere these days if they have to mention that on there website what next 'oh yes there is grass in the park you may have hay fever!' Come on, and the prices watchdog said you NEVER pay that amount I'm sure merlin make there prices high so you use the buy one get one free!

  16. This is a very good point actully, I've noticed this a lot at Thorpe Park over any other park, and it happens a lot on Rush. The VAST majority of the staff are brilliant and do a great job, it's just the odd few that hold up the queues with their ridiculous flirting and chatting every now and then.Let's face the facts though, how many people on this forum go to work and work at 100% efficiency from the start of their shift to the end? Of course people are going to slack from time to time! It's just human nature.

Fair comment actually but I always feel there is a time and place to be holding the queue up!
  17. I love x no way out with the lights on, I feel they should have the lights on all the time but not standard spotlight colour, it needs to have multicolour like the queue! It is a shame to see all the effects that should be working no longer! :)
