Hi...

My name is Dennis, but please feel free to call me "Den" or even "denm" (it's a nickname from my past days of a misspent youth), likely a lot older than most folk on this group/site but that is life I suppose, one moment you're young and having fun, the next you're reminiscing

I live at Worcester, in the West Midlands, been single for most of my life apart from a brief relationship and equally brief marriage to a lady who still lives about 3000 miles away in Canada (near Toronto), we met online around the start of this century, I met her in real life at Easter in 2002 and we got married in July 2003. Unfortunately by Christmas 2005 we were officially separated and I've been regretting that fact ever since...

I used to work on the railway, up until Septembet 2005 when I left through redundancy, for the frst twenty years I was climbing signals and working on other stuff to do with signalling on the railway, the last ten years or so I was mostly working behind the scenes in offices doing technical work until I left at the end of 31 years.

I should have emigrated at the end of 2005, should have been living overseas in Canads by now but things didn't quite go to plan, instead I endured a period of unemployment and looking for work from then until about two years ago, even was homeless for a time ~ though that was mostly spent in a YMCA hostel until I had my own home again about 5 years ago. Today I live a life of leisure, riding trains for mostly free....

I'm 57 this coming August (2014) and to be honest things are not as good for me as they were when I was in my 20s and 30s, I'm more than aware of years passing and getting older, health issues remind me frequently of that fact but something inside me isn't as old as it should be!

That's part of the reason that this August I hope to be riding coasters at Thorpe Park, my last few birthdays have been forgettable, this year (if I can get onboard) it might be a scream!
