  1. ^ yeah I agree, I think they will start to put more vegetation around the area in the next two weeks, well at least around the lakeside of the island. I think the shelter structure will be okay, from the pictures it looks really tall so it won't feel as if you're being boxed in like in Colossus's queue line. I was expecting more photo updates :) I think I've just been spoiled the last few weeks ;)

  2. I do sense an anti-chav theme going on in this topic :) but come on lets not waste our time talking about the little rascals.I'm counting on lots of photos tomorrow guys! I need my some more Saw Porn ;) Does anyone think part of the island may be open tomorrow?I think it would build more excitment if park guests were allowed to get up close and personal before the opening and I would assume they would of finished work on the plaza area by now.

  3. hmmmm... I totally agree! In a perfect world chavs don't go to Thorpe Park ;) But I think we all getting carried away about how scary this ride is actually going to be!Doesn't anyone recall Nemesis Inferno being branded as the 'World's Greatest Rollercoaster Experience' :) Yeah there will be a few scares and jumps in the queue lines and in the indoor section but I seriously doubt there is going to be anything remotely close to the grotesqueness of the films...

  4. Now where did that idea come from? :P

The small sign beside the test seat says so :P I'd check out the Coasterforce and Southparks forums, where they're currently getting all excited over it. Well not exactly getting excited, I swear everyone who is a member of Coasterforce just loves to criticize Thorpe Park and everything it does. :P
  5. Are they leaving the shop blue? And is the car just going to be parked there?Wont last very long if it is ;)

Surely this is the only ride at Thorpe where the theme benefits from the presence of chavs :D (if they're going for the neglect abandoned look 'n' all :D)Nope there are plans on some site I saw the other day for how the shop is going to be themed, it's going to be brown with writing of some sort (tba) on the side you'll see when you enter the island.
  6. 250 test runs isn't that much when you think about it. If Thorpe are saying the throughput for the ride is 1100pph that means 275 dispatches from the station will happen every day (so 275 rides a day). So really that number is nothing special ;)

  7. Anyway, going back on topic, Saw the first test runs of Saw with my own eyes, and looked so smooth.I don't care what the themeing is like, as long as the ride itself delivers the hype it it has given us since being announced.

Well I think, even if this ride is spectacular, amazing effects, amazing ride; I'm still going to think when I get off that this wasn't worth all the hours I spent following its construction and talking about it on forums. But hey, that's life!
  8. I don't get it? I personally don't get all the criticism about this being a Euro-fighter :) I can't say I've ever been on one, but can anybody actually explain why they aren't as good as the coasters made by B&M and IntaminNot saying anyone's opinion is wrong, but from myself whose never been on one, I think this ride looks pretty awesome regardless of themeing :P

  9. I'm just gonna say my throughput fact again, because it should shut everyone up (although it wont).Mack Seastorm advertises its throughput at 1,200pph. Would it ever honestly get anywhere near that? (http://www.mack-rides.com/lang-de/c140/default.html).EDIT: OMG IT SAYS 1,500pph LOL

:) George Bush's reason for going to war sounded more likely to be true than that statistic! So we have established that Mack, Thorpe and Merlin are just telling porky pies to everyone?
  10. Indeed. Just imagine Saw running on 4 cars or something similar.

They would have to shut down the ride wouldn't they if only 4 cars were running?I know they have the maintenance building, but surely that's not large enough to contain 4 ride cars?
  11. Haha that did make me giggle...maybe they should make a ride with jet rockets attached :)

Heh in a perfect world ! but in reality I think there is zero chance in that happening :P

I'm pretty sure on a coaster with no belts, you have to pull your own bar down and the attendant will just check it by pulling the bars to hold on to. As far as Thorpe go with making up statistics... anyone remember when they said Stealth would never run less than two trains?

Damn! Yeah you're right, Thorpe do have a habit of releasing useless information (MTDP comes to mind) !
  12. As they're no seat belts on the restraints does that mean it's going to be like on Samurai and Vortex where you have to hold your arms out as the restraints come down? I always thought that was rather cool :) As for capacity, it may not be 1,100pph all the time but I doubt it would be far off. They wouldn't bother creating that statistic otherwise. It's like them saying the cars get up to 1000mph if they had jet rockets attached to them. It's totally irrelevant. :P

  13. That's just something to make the ride look like it can handle a lot of people. In reality it won't be anywhere near that as rides never run as smooth as clockwork.

So I'm guessing 1,100pph is the highest possible throughput?Has anyone been looking at the Southparks forum? They seem to be speculating that the shop structure (the blue containers) had been moved / removed today :) Judging from the pictures that seems to be the case, but I can't see why that would of happened?(This is just speculation from the pictures)
