  1. There certainly appears to be a nasty swarm of something in that photo!! Scary stuff!
  2. I think that is brilliant! The name alone makes me shiver. There was a brilliant episode of Star Trek Voyager called 'The Swarm' in which there were these nasty sinister aliens that swarmed around star ships and drained them of their power killing everyone on board. Not that this has anything whatsoever to do with that, just that the word Swarm is not reserved solely for bees!Whether you like it or not, you have to admit that it is a terrifying name and a great theme.
  3. Ok, Colossus and its area themeing are complete and available to view in Google Earth's 3D layer. Enjoy.
  4. Cool photo's, thanks for the update. Roll on Monday to end this GoW nonsense!
  5. Hmmm, that is true. Actually it would be very cool if you did not realise that it was an alien invasion until you get inside the ride station, then it is all revealed to be something very sinister. We have not seen any of the internal theming and as you say, there could be tv screens and audio clues. But I would imagine that if this is based around aliens, then the ride itself, the star attraction if you like, would have to be the alien surely?
  6. 'WAR' is no crazier than 'Air', its just that we are now used to the latter. I remember that we thought 'Air' was an abbreviation for the type of rollercoaster at the time, 'Aerial Inversion Ride'. I wonder if the same could be said for this. 'Wing Rider', not sure what the 'A' could be.Moving on, I love this teaser video although if it is to do with an alien invasion, there is not one bit of theming that relates to aliens! The only possible part of this ride that could be an alien, is the one bit we have not seen yet, and that is the rollercoaster itself. Maybe more will be revealed in a week.
  7. That is what all rollercoaster support footers look like before they are installed and filled.
  8. Great to see that we will be getting some good shots of the coaster construction. I was worried that it may be a closed shop being on an island! Also, for those of you who were saying that the footers don't arrive onsite, have a look at these latest pics and you can see what I was trying to explain rather badly a few pages back about the hoola hoops!!! These are the hollow footers that are filled once in the ground.
  9. My point about the very few 4D coasters that are out there, is that they are pretty underwhelming when compared to fixed seat coasters of the same intensity and layout. The problem with them is that they make the rider very disorientated. Anyone that has ridden on Air will relate to this when the ride turns you on your back at completely the wrong point so all you see is the sky and wonder wtf is going on. At the point it rolls you back into the prone flying position, the ride becomes fun again. It offers little to the brain//eye/physical experience other than confusion. There is nothing more thrilling than seeing where you are going next and fearing you may not make it. That I think is what makes a great rollercoaster. Having said all that, if anyone can pull off a more convincing 4D experience, then I am sure B&M could.
  10. OK, sorry to double post, but I am bored and have been looking over the plans for LC12. So I did not realise just how intense this coaster is going to be. The turn around over the lake around the helicopter is a 90 degree bank following a drop from an over banked turn 70 feet up!! I also think I may have stumbled upon a possible theme for the ride other than what we already know. There appear to be a lot of references to aircraft, and the layout is very much what a fast jet would do if trying to escape/evade or even recce the area. Just my opinion, but it looks very much like the sort of motion a military/high performance aircraft/fast jet would fly.
  11. And you would be right, it isn't. Rather underwhelming actually. Better to have a kickass layout like LC12 with fixed seats so B&M and the ride designers can fully control all aspects of the ride experience.

    Logger's Leap

Health and safety inspection, oops there we go, your off the hook.
  13. LC is probably nothing to do with the coaster as such, a bit like Project Dylan. We would never have guessed that now would we!
  14. Well you are both correct! The footers do arrive on site in the form of hollow concrete tubes, like hula hoops (sorry, I could not think of anything better to describe them!!) They are then placed into the ground and filled with concrete.
  15. How exciting. I hope we get more updates than this when the track starts going up!!!!
  16. Hey guys. Firstly to answer your question Rollerross11, anything that is not already modelled on the 3D layer in google earth really, with two exceptions, Colossus and its terrain themeing and the park entrance. I have both of these models nearly finished. Other than that, go for it! Any help is welcome. -_-So I am nearly finished with Colossus and the area theming here. It looks very nice if I do say so myself. It has taken me 4 weeks and is quite a complex model!!!! Unfortunately, due to the limitations on google earth, I have had to simplify some of the structural work as with the other coasters I have done, but the overall result still looks very pleasing. I will let you guys know when it is live.
  17. Just to let you guys know, Stealth is back on Google Earth now and looking more fantastic than ever now that it has it's own theming. Thanks to Seb who produced Stealth, I contacted him to physically change some of its dimensions to fit in better with the station and theming that I have done. I think you will all agree that it now looks bloody amazing. Colossus is coming along very nicely, but will be a number of weeks before we see it in Google Earth. I will post some teasers pics for you guys when I progress a little further.
  18. Just going back to this idea that the B&M track we saw a few weeks back may not be Thorpe's. Now I have a little experience with metal work and priming metals before their final plasti-coat or gloss coat of paint, and in my experience, all of the primers I have ever seen or used are matt. They tend to be matt so that the final coat of paint bonds nicely to the surface. I have been looking at the pics of this track in it's military grey guise (suggested primer coat), and it is clearly gloss.I am not saying that it is categorically not primer, just that it is no primer I am familiar with and in my opinion, that track colour is the final colour. Anyway, we only have 3 months to wait and we will know!
  19. Well, I am going to start something new this week. I have been thinking about how I am going to do it, and I think it will look pretty cool when finished. So my next project is going to be Colossus. I will post a few teaser photo's on here as I progress with it, but I would not expect to see it for a few weeks.
  20. Well, I sit here on this sunny Tuesday evening knowing that we are on the verge of LC12 construction. I am really looking forward to a long summer, autumn and winter of great construction updates on TPM! And to think, in 9 months time, we will have a world class themed B&M coaster that will be the envy of the world..........for at least a year anyway!! So exciting.
  21. Oh right! It sort of shatters the illusion though doesn't it, escaping the mayhem only to arrive back where you started, Oooooh, just thought of a new name 'Coalition Government, Emergency Economic Recovery Budget' LMAO
  22. Either a military weapon, or a means of actually escaping the carnage. It could be themed around a prototype evacuation system? But then unless you disembark in a different location than the one you started at, it would not work. A different load/unload point in the station maybe. Just speculating here.
  23. Genius! Thank you so much. I have done the bridge, but was having trouble finding entrance pictures, but I can now get on with it.
  24. Looking at the colour of LC12's track, anyone think that this could be themed around a military weapon? I'm not entirely sure why you would want a military weapon at the end of the world, but I am sure someone could come up with a convincing story!
  25. New Stealth area themeing is now live on Google Earth, go check it out. As of writing this, Stealth itself is currently off the 3D layer due to maintenance and will be back shortly! Its just like the real thing you know!!!! lol
