  1. I think the chart music at the entrance/dome is great, but it shouldn't be played any further into the park than that. I really hope that an executive decision isn't made for the park to play chart music everywhere, especially around Stealth, Saw, Swarm where the specialised music is crucial for the atmosphere.

  2. It’s not fair to compare it to last year’s event because Thorpe Park let Annual pass holders to AP guests 1:2 which was insane because the park was full, however what ever happened to the good old fashioned Saw the ride AP day which was something like 2-5 on Friday 13th which meant the rides that were open were dead and we were all allocated time slots, fantastic! I even said at my school I had a dentist appointment just to go to the preview.

Ahh the classic dentist excuse, I think I used that one too for the TPM Saw preview. I agree, there should be an annual pass day for The Swarm on Wednesday the 16th. They can overcome the problems with the AP day last year by only allowing AP holders to attend the event, instead of AP holders + 2 guests.
  3. Might be able to come to this, but it will be like 1 o'clock onwards I think. My last seminar finishes at 12, but luckily I'm only at Royal Holloway which is just up the road. I do want to make up for the disaster which was TPM Saw Preview day back in 09. I'll let you know for sure soon though! :o

  4. I do sort of wish Swarm had a longer layout like X Flight. I think it would have been possible if the station was placed where the toilets are being built, and the lift hill ran parallel to the right hand side of the island (from the plans perspective) - it would have left more room on the bulk of the island for a longer layout.

  5. True I guess. Perhaps the contract with Lionsgate allowed Thorpe to retain some elements of the Saw brand after the deal was over without the fear of copyright infringement - similar to when Ribena Rhumba Rapids became just Rhumba Rapids, or when Bubbleworks probably opens this year themed around the idea of a generic soap factory, rather than one owned by Cussions Imperial Leather. So I reckon the outdoor traps might stay, but the saw logo and "face your fears" will be removed.

  6. A retheme would be somewhat easy to do I think:1) Change the theme to a generic chainsaw/rotary saw theme2) Replace 'block-brake Billy' with an anamatronic chainsaw wielding maniac - have a corny police voiceover telling people to "watch out, he's on the loose!"3) Keep the swinging saws on the inside drop4) Airgun brake could be removed, and there could be some chainsaw noises with flashing lights5) Remove dead spirting blood man beneath barrel roll6) TVs before lift hill could just display the chainsaw maniac shouting "I've got you now!" or something genericThen it would just be a case of just removing anything else directly related to the Saw brand. They probably planned Saw, well Project Dylan, without the Saw sponsorship, so they would just go back to those original plans.

  7. If the park is planning to continue to build a new coaster every three years past 2018, I think the obvious locations would be:The Depth Charge siteBetween Rhumba Rapids and Treasure Island (would require a new island)X No Way Out/Arena siteNew island behind Swarm + 2015 coasterThis would give the park coaster locations up until 2030 - and by this time most of the current rides would have been already removed.

  8. The plan basically just highlights what greenary they will be removing/adding in the area. They have to declare what trees they will be removed as well as what they will be adding. I'm sure accompanying this plan will be a written document on how it will affect wildlife in the area.

But why are the Lion/Tiger/Gorilla etc enclosures on that plan?
  9. Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goesBasically, I've lost my Merlin Annual Pass and I would like to get a new one in time for any possible Thorpe Park annual pass day for The Swarm. The annual pass site says it costs £10 to replace, but I'm not too fussed about doing that because it runs out in April anyway. My options are either:1) Wait until the Thorpe Park annual pass office opens (does anyone know when this is by any chance?) and just pay for the replacement2) If the Thorpe Park annual pass office doesn't open until Thorpe Park opens in March, can I just go to the London Eye annual pass office and get a new pass? Or can you only have one pass at one time?3) Or is there another option?Hope this has made sense! Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

  10. Hey Saz, welcome back to the forums. :)Hope you decide to stick around with us in what is set to be a very exciting time here! :P

Thanks! :( I usually appear here when there are exciting times. The last time I showed up was at a special Saw preview, the day before the Annual Pass preview - unfortunately, the ride had broken the night before during the celebrity/press event, meaning we couldn't ride it. :( Thorpe Park were nice enough to open Colossus and Rush as replacements though.
