  1. Random question - There is a member of staff who works on this ride called Gareth. When I went in April this year, I got chatting to him about wrestling after he noticed the t-shirt I was wearing. Then, on my visit there yesterday, Gareth noticed and remembered who I was after seeing my t-shirt (a completely different wrestling one). So my question is - Does anyone know how I might get in contact with him?

  2. Fantastic you enjoyed it, but you know John Wardley had quite a small role in The Smiler right? And he wasn't really satisfied with the finished ride either (from a layout perspective)!

Ah...I thought he had a relatively big role in it, but just wasn't happy in the end...Shows how much I know!

Well...disregard "for his last creation, John Wardley did one hell of a job" and insert "Wow" instead

  3. Having just returned from my 2 day trip up there, all I can say is, for his last creation, John Wardley did one hell of a job.

I don't think I have experienced anything quite like this before and would quite happily queue god knows how long to ride it. The indoor queue with the 3d effects is pretty cool, although the first day I was there, they had a bit of an overuse with the strobe lights!

  4. I think that the one thing about Nemesis is that it's one of the best themed rides. I went with a few mates of mine who'd never been to AT before, and they were amazed at the detail of the station in comparison to the other rides, and those at Thorpe Park.
Will always be one of the best rides in the world to me. The best part being the dive down underground going into the loop.

  5. First of all, IanNem, that was a great blog post to read!

I agree with your points in your post. I personally think that Disney should keep it the way it's been for years. Ok, so some have paid more to stay on site, but that was their choice, and they get a few more perks as it is. So, should they get first choice on Fastpass? I don't think they should.

I think that the current system is actually quite fair to be honest. It works on a sort of "First come, first serve basis". Everyone runs to the bigger attractions to try and get an early return time, but if you can't be bothered to run, you still get a pretty decent return time maybe an hour or so later.

For me, the current Fastpass system works perfectly, and shouldn't be tampered with, but who knows...it might work out!

  6. I think what works so well with Despicable Me is :-

    1) The Minions - Fun, lovable little yellow creatures, that are humanised yet still have something that makes them intriguing.

    2) The Children - The way they are before and after they are adopted shows how things can actually change and what being an orphan must feel like.

    3) We get to see the Villains side of things through Gru, and how that all changes after the inclusion of the children.

    I just love both films!!!

  7. also watched despicable me 2.

Yes, I know I'm late with most the films but I got this membership thing which means I can watch these films for free, in the cinema after they've screened for a bit...

So Despicable me 2, where do I start. I love it.

More story line, with secrets everywhere. I prefer 1, however a great way to finish the series off(for all we know there may be another)

    8/10

From what I've heard, there is meant to be a Minion movie out at some point in the future. Not sure how they'll work it, but I'm sure it'll be a hit some how!

  8. I generally listen to most music. Mostly rock but I do find myself listening to a playlist of everything pretty much!

My favourite song right now is Wake Me Up by Avicii

My favourite band of all time - Nickelback *Waits for torrent of abuse*

  9. Unfortunately, most theme parks use ride videos as a huge marketing campaign. They show 30 seconds of you on the ride, then fill the next 2 1/2 minutes up with nonsense. Like Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit at Universal Studios spends more time with effects then it does with the video of you riding! Whereas at least Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens has a story and fits your ride video in with it.
