Lake Erie is 9950 sq mi. Flooding is the least of CP's issues.

Well what coasters do you like. You seem to really dislike them. What all do you want out of a coaster?
-
^Lets not forget the target audience here. The Family.
Iron Dragon, Blue Streak, Gemini, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Corkscrew, Mean Streak etc. They all meet the quota for what they do, the park can't only have high octane thrill machines. Just look at Thorpe, only 2 coasters really stand out of the rest. That's an even poorer ratio.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh... Not REALLY... There's (excluding Gatekeeper) 3 really good coasters, and few average ones, the odd over-rated one and some terrible ones...
3/16 was not a good return...
-Millennium
-Maverick
-Raptor
-Magnum
-Dragster
-GateKeeper (soon to be)
All great coasters.
For you to say "Not REALLY" doesn't make much sense. There aren't many parks out there that offer this amount of quality coasters. Maybe Magic Mountain or Great Adventure.

Looks like its going to be a "Camelback" Christmas.

Other than being mirrored the only differences are: Swarm has a Inclined loop, X-flight has an Immelman, and X-flight has helix after the inline roll, the two are Very alike.
Swarm
-Wing over drop
-Zero G
-Inclined Loop
-Curve
-Zero G
-Curve
-inline roll
-brakes
-turn
-brakes
X-Flight
-Wing over drop
-Zero G
-Immelmann
-Curve
-Zero G
-Cruve
-Inline roll
-Helix
-Brakes
-Turn
-Brakes
Very minimal difference.
Evidence enough.

They're near clones already.I don't wish to say you are wrong, but you are wrong. Raptor doesn't just interact with scenery, it also has the water jets and the misters like The Swarm but unlike The Swarm, they work properly. It also feels like the more complete ride with better near misses. Raptor is far more like a wing-rider Nemesis in the way it interacts with its surroundings, not just additional props.
I'm quite glad that all six wing riders so far have been so different. It could have been so easy for Wild Eagle and GateKeeper to be really similar or for X Flight to be a clone of The Swarm.

GateKeeper seems to be focused on thrilling elements and the sensation of flight, hence all the size of the coaster. It's main focus isn't the near misses, like most other wing coasters.

GateKeeper is another fantastic addition to the Cedar Point skyline!

Awkward, I didn't mean longer are better! Some short coasters are brilliant whilst longer coasters can sometimes get boring towards the end. For me it's the experience it delivers in the length rather than the length in the experience.
Exactly. As long as the ride experience is good and memorable. Some coasters are superb, but seem really dragged out (Voyage). But that's also what makes them so great, a relentless action packed ride is something every park should look into.

What is with the idea that longer coasters are automatically better than shorter ones?
If that was right, all the American coasters would actually be good, with the Ultimate being the best ride in the world (or at least one of them)...
This looks to be classic B&M design, the forces are going to be there, that much I can already tell. It's really the most impressive beemer I've seen since Sheikra. This just looks amazing!

This is shaping up great! This thing is already giving the other wing riders a run for their money
Here is a second & closer webcam.

Forgive me if I'm wrong doesn't The Swarm have a Zero G roll? The Second inversion, no? The Swarms dive drop is more horizontal than X-Flights making it slightly more exhilarating. The swarm has 3/4's of a helix after the trim to be fair. In my opinion They are nothing alike.
My Bad.
Edit: "Other than being mirrored the only differences are: Swarm has a Inclined loop, X-flight has an Immelman, and X-flight has helix after the inline roll. And I do find them very alike.
Swarm
-Wing over drop
-Zero G
-Inclined Loop

-inline roll
-brakes
-turn
-brakes
X-Flight
-Wing over drop

-Immelmann

-Cruve
-Inline roll
-Helix

-Turn
-Brakes
Very minimal difference. Both cookie-cutter beemers, and both are still great for what they do.

Before riding I thought the same but The Swarm is a lot better (faster) than it looks, if a little short. It is near impossible to tell from POVs but X-flight looks to be the weakest one to me with the a poorer initial inversion, some awkward looking manoeuvres and pacing. Wild Eagle looks by some way the best so far, and GateKeeper should be even better if what we've seen in mock ups is accurate.
One of the most exciting elements here for me will be the gate cut troughs The near misses don't seem to have quite worked out so far, but the shear speed these will be taken at should make it quite a feeling.
That's odd, the swarm and X-flight are near clones of each other. Other than being mirrored the only differences are: Swarm has a Inclined loop, X-flight has a 0-g ROLL, and X-flight has helix after the inline roll. I just find it odd how
I do agree that the Keyhole towers will be the highlight of the ride, seeing how this this is going to be able to keep it's speed, should be great.

^Yep. It just hits 149.1 mph for less than a split-second and is immediately trimmed down to 60 mph. Such a waste.

Phantom's Revenge, SOOO much fun!

In the long run I'm sure it would work out more expensive, the ropes on the lift would need to be changed regularly to avoid snapping which isn't cheap as opposed to a standard lift chain which can last years.
Take stealth for example every 80,000 launches they like to replace the ropes instead of the recommended 100,000 which is once a year, so it's around 6/7 replacements since 2006. Colossus on te other hand has had chain replaced once? Maybe twice in 10 years. (I don't really know)
The manucacture cost may be lower but the maintenance is probably higher in the long run
Well, it is a hydraulic launch coaster. As much as the coaster goes through, that really isn't much. Besides, cables for hydraulic launches aren't really comparable to chain lifts as they both haul drastically different workloads.

Less supports, stronger track, WIN WIN situation.

^Think verbolten.
-
Intamin should of made the 170'+ hill more parabolic so Formula Rossa could maintain it's speed. The train travels a bit sluggishly throughout the course. JS.
-
Smoother and probably more efficient.

Great! I'm (obviously) excited to see the park get another world class beemer. Raptor is what set the way for most of the following Inverts, hopefully, GateKeeper will do the same. The layout is a simple out-and-back, yet it gives the illusion of being something else, and it doesn't even seem like an out-and-back. Truly a unique fit for the point, this is shaping up to be a excellent coaster.

The giant flat spin is going to provide a very unique experience for every seat. This element is perfect for wing coasters. Looks to have a mix of lateral G's, hang-time, and the height factor.
