Hyperia
Staff saying potentially down for the day today. I'm on the RCCGB event which is supposed to have an ERS.
-
Detonator
I'm on park today and it quite evidently isn't.

Detonator
Detty may be 115' but it's still a better drop tower than most in Europe. (Scream at Heide Park is my fav - the drop seems to go on forever).

Detonator
It's been down for an awfully long time with no communication from the park besides being closed for maintenance, suggesting some sort of urgent fix. I hope they get it open soon, as it is the best drop tower in the UK.

Any news on how many trains it's on today? App is reporting 180min queue.

Hyperia
Throughput is going to be horrendous.

The Next Major Investment?
RMC and a MACK Extreme Spinner, though if Merlin will work with MACK again is anyone's guess.
-
Hyperia
I wonder if Merlin will now refuse to work with MACK on future projects, similar to Cedar Fair's relationship with Intamin? That's a laser beam to my dreams of an extreme spinner at Thorpe 😅

Hyperia
I would argue that it certainly is the most high profile addition in 30 years. The publicity has been awful.

This is proving to be an absolute disaster for reliability, from a supposedly reliable manufacturer too. How come Mack are seemingly not taking any flack for this?

Hyperia
Same issue as yesterday then, from the footage I've seen. Not a good look, again, so soon after reopening. I'm now not getting my first ride until July 6th, but I can't say I'm overly confident of getting on it if these issues persist.

Hyperia
Did Hyperia open today? Currently closed on the app. Looked like it had some serious speed issues on Friday evening according to some test footage on YouTube.

Hyperia
Shame that there has been nothing more announced over the weekend.

Hyperia
🤣 How true! Good to see Hyperia testing. I was due to go on Monday too, so probably going to miss out if it does open Tuesday.

I think that is exactly what it suggests. Even Thorpe has admitted that is what it suggested. They would have been better off not issuing a date.
-
Hyperia
That's why I do not work in social media or marketing 😅. They would have been better off either doing a Cedar Point (indefinitely) or saying that they would provide and update before the 8th. I hope people, with hindsight, now start to see that Thorpe have handled the closure pretty badly.

No, they knew what they were doing. Do not excuse their marketing waffle. They're gaslighting their guests now.
