  1. I love it! They spend £18 million on a B&M wingrider and then drop it in the lake! :DI've got to say that it's easily the first drop that I'm most excited about seeing being built. And I didn't realise it would extend over the water like that, should look fantastic when you're on it. Maybe he's trying to keep his tricks of the trade secret. ;)EDIT: And cheers for the updates, they're much appreciated!

    The Flume

I'll be so sad if they get rid of the Flume. I know it doesn't interact with the landscape much but it's such a lovely ride that's actually really relaxing in between the drops and nightmare ducks. Also, whatever they build to replace it (if they do of course!) will inevitably be compared with nostalgia for the flume and I don't know if it could really win. Especially if they build a thrill ride there, it'll just frustrate the families who visit the Towers and remember that they used to have a fun flume there.
  3. It does tie in nicely with the whole 2012 phenomenon of the world apparently ending though. And although it's probably very pessimistic of me to say it, it is very hard to get an original theme at a theme park anymore. I'd rather they did a more obvious theme and did it well than attempt to do a more abstract theme that may not come across as well (with the inevitable budget cuts!) to the general public.Maybe we'll even get another IP? Godzilla -The Ride anyone?
  4. Well thanks for such a warm welcome everyone. Fingers crossed I won't need to call on your services though Holly!
  5. Hi there!I'm one of those long time readers, short time posters (since about 37 minutes ago in fact) so I thought I'd say hi. Loved the forum for a long time but never did anything about it... until now!And I know you guys are a stickler for quality posts so hopefully I'll be a bearable poster. =)Mark 64
  6. As the news article from Towers Times said that the Towers will probably use an in-house Simworx movie instead, I thought I'd have a look at the films they offer (http://www.simworx.co.uk/index_222.asp). Considering they don't seem to want to spend too much on the retheme, it looks like the only option for them now (if they do continue down this route) is the Hansel and Gretel movie as it keeps the fairy tale theme. Got to say the trailer looks pretty horrendous, for all of them in fact... Anyone seen it before?
  7. I'd say that you're still looking at it from an enthusiast perspective though. If you don't look at Thorpe fansites everyday then are you really going to remember what Thorpe said in 2010 that they were going to be building in 2012 when it actually is 2012? It's not as if they're encouraging anyone to buy tickets for 2012 either with this picture so they're not misleading or 'robbing' anyone if it never does get built. And to be fair to Thorpe, what does this 'advert' actually say? That it is called LC12 and it is coming in 2012. It doesn't even say what it is! How can you be annoyed if something doesn't get made when you don't even know what the something is? I don't see how people can be having a go at Thorpe for just announcing what the project for 2012 is called to an enthusiasts' website.
