Shutdowns
Loggers Leap - Was in the station in a boat (so technically I wasnt actuallly stuck)Probs: Convayor got Jammed at the first hill.Wait: 10minsI am in-experienced with break downs - which is surprising seeing that every other machine seems to malfunction around me (especially lifts, hence detonator fear). Maybe rides love me.

Thorpe Farm
I'm rooting for a chinese style hotel - thats of course if the first one is a success.I dunno, I just have always liked the idea of going on the train back to the hotel. Maybe have some oriental animals and a dragon themed waterpark there. Hopping on the alton bandwagon abit.Mind you I dont think the residence will appreciate that as much as we might.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
I wouldn't be so sure. Not that its unsafe at the moment (although I guess you could say in its current state it is) but an 8(?) year old travelling fair ride which is used continually day in day out during the open season will not last forever.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
That will probably be the case in 2008. Might even get sent back to modial for a refub or somthing to improve ride experience or somthing - who knows.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
In 2008 Loggers Leap and probably samurai (assuming that the coaster will be going near it, hence the infilling) will have to be shut whilst they construct the coaster. Infact probably the end of 2007, as they start to clear the land they need to put foundations down in.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
Trip Report 10/02/07Thorpe Park was pretty alright today, got to the park to find the huge craft fair tent still there so the carpark was in a bit of a frenzy. Traditional run a jump-hug with some of the SP folk and into the parks. They have niffty new turnstiles which look good. The dome is looking nice. Now includes: Caffe Neros, Glasshouse Bar and Kitchen, Sweets and Souverneers (the big and small shop have been knocked through to make one big shop), Photo Point (moved to the other side) and Arcades. New shop looks abit plain but other than that its looking good. They have got rid of Dancing Heads (YESS!), although singstar was on - probably wont be there all season. And aparently the dome is getting new music.First ride was vortex. Some one we knew was operating so top seats. Then we went over to X:/ No Way Out - No real change, although it has been painted and new lights have been installed. Looking much smarter - rumours have it that the elevators are to return and there will be a Pre- Ride video. The ride seems alot smoother though. I think they replace the droid aswell, it certainly seems more active.Stealth was the same as ever, the launch didn't feel faster. Still a great ride mind you Colossus was up and running again so we went on that - hell yes I love that ride. Excellent. Colossus Shop has been moved around abit, you can now look out of the window again which is good news.Rush's nets were down, but they wern't broken - I expect they had to take them down to make way for various macheinery which had to go past it. Canada Creek was blocked off from the Colossus entrance and the other side. Just infilling, but definatly not for an oblivion type ride - unless you want the world first drowing coaster. Samurai's Pods were off, as was slammers top bit.Flying fish I coming on nicely, it is looking good (new colour scheme ect) but it is looking abit bare. Note that the entrance to the ride isnt what it is on the plans and is looking very Amity Cove. Can also see the huge empty space where the hotel is going to be situated - I look forward to seeing that start construction soon. I think thats all. Can't think of anything else. Over all though it was a good day, but mainly just to explore the park and see whats changed and it was brilliant to meet up with the SouthParks lot again. Really sorry I didnt make the TPM meet up, was stuck in the Stealth queue when Nathan reminded me. (I am not sure whether it went ahead in the end, I know nobody turned up to the SP meet). Like I said, good day - but only for us fanboys. I wouldnt have paid full price for today.I will edit this post with some pictures at some point, but there was nothing that new.

Rumba Rapids
That would be quite lol actually. If they themed it really well and made it more fun, themed and wet than it is now, could be jokes. Sounds like just a roumer, where'd you hear it?

Closed Rides
^ Ok Fair enough Thorpe isn't the only park doing this, but it's still not Thorpes Official open season, I still looking at these days as a pre-season bonus - and we can only commend Thorpe Park for trying to make this happen really, even if they are playing catch up.

Closed Rides
To be honest I am not that bothered about how many rides will be open. We are lucky enough to have this early opening, that no other park in the UK is doing and I am just looking at it as an extention of the 2006 season, seeing as the park state that the official season starts on the 17th March 2007.It will be an excellent day, and we all know how tepremental these rides can be in the hight of summer, let alone 3 days after proposed snow! I am sure Thorpe Park will get as many rides up and running as possible for these days.

LOL! I am not touching A-Level maths for anything on the earth.I worked it out in the end though. It wasnt that hard - I just had to draw out the curve Y=X^0.5 and then show that the values are too small to predict using the small increment method and then use the general rule that I found out earlier and create a gradient function so I could work out the actual gradients of the curve blah blah blah to prove that the general rule works etc.well I hope thats what he wanted me to do anyway.Luckily I am not too bad at maths - just takes me over 6 hours to work it out

General Rule...Y=ax^n+BX^m Gradient Function...nax^n-1 +bmx^m-1If I understand that (barely) why dont I understand...y=(square root of)X ----> y=x^0.5which apparently means that the gradient function is...0.5x^(-0.5)*cries* I hate maths. ANGREY EDIT: Oh and apparently I have to throw in the small increment method in there somewhere...
