Woodie with steel supports?Europe's First 4D Coaster would be good for Thorpe?

Anything could happen...the Runymeade (sp) council could even raise the height ceiling, a plane could crash into Stealth, the company could go bankrupt (incredibly unlikely) but there exists a chance, no matter how small or big that something could happen. There's a chance Thorpe Park could build a 200-ft Hyper Coaster for 2016/2017 and I personally think (IMO) that is what will happen - that a 200-ft coaster will be built around that time if everything is going well.

Thorpe will concentrate on current and up-coming developments but they will look that far into the future. They would think where do we see our park in 10 years time and what is our park's future. They could think what else could we add to our portafolio.Stealth is CURRENTLY Thorpe's iconic coaster but by 2016, that would have been 10 years ago and they would be looking for the next big thing.Thorpe would never add another 200-ft (ish) Intamin Tophat Launch Coaster but they might want to add another 200ft-ish coaster since their last one is about speed.Stealth is fast, tall and is over quite quickly and having for example, a 200ft Hyper Coaster would compliment Stealth since it is focused on air-time and is a family-thrill with lapbars. Just because Thorpe Park have a 200ft coaster, doesn't mean they can't have another one. It doesn't have to do the exact same thing - and it could offer another type of thrill.E.g. Hyper Coaster and a 200ft Tophat Launch Coaster are totally different apart from their height, they offer totally different experiences and they compliment each other perfectly. Not to mention, their structures are different and both coasters would look totally different physically.Thorpe will consider 200ft-ish coasters:Dive Coaster X - We have SAW4D Coaster X - Too ugly and many supportsHyper Coaster *We have a winner"I think Thorpe's next 200-ft coaster will be a Hyper Coaster or a Megalite

The media aren't going to interview any random person pulled off the street, especially when the person who they interviewed, was the general manager as interviews for the opening of new coasters are always given by general management or the general manager himself. Just like Mike Valis (Ex General Manager of CWoA) gave the opening interview of SAW: The Ride, the interview was given for the opening of Stealth. Afterwards, the GM, for the opening of Stealth, answered some questions and one was something along the lines of:When can we expect another rollercoaster of that height and the response was in about 10 years. As for the "I doubt even Thorpe Park know what is going to be built in 10 years time themselves" is crap because Mike Valis said that they (THORPE PARK) make preparations "years" in advance. Every business especially theme parks, make plans years in advance, even 10 years in advance. Themeparks like Thorpe Park do have to think of their long-term future and also their immediate future.

This was in an interview about Stealth and the question was, when does Thorpe plan to build another coaster of that same height? The person being interviewed said in 10 years time.

I believe SW6 is Intamin, but where is the proof? I know ATA are very reliable source but they still have no evidence or said how they know this? They haven't said we can't reveal our source - they just confirmed it was Intamin...like that

Well I'm not one of those people who make things up: :)Thorpe said they don't plan to build another 200ft-ish coaster until 2016 which is when the LTDP runs out. This was said in 2006.The Darren Shears part, was that he talked to Thorpe Park management and that's what they told him.

Hope you enjoy it Andrew - I'm going next year:Wizarding World of Harry Potter ftw!
  9. Will replied to a post in a topic in The Future
Someone called Darren Shears said that Thorpe said they were planning for:2012: Woodie2016: HypercoasterAnd in-between would be not much but some flat rides if anything
  10. Will replied to a post in a topic in The Future
What I meant, was that Thorpe can't build another 200ft-ish (115ft+) coaster till 2016. They said they won't build another coaster that height till the LTDP runs out.

"There is a 395ft drop tower in Australia... having that in Thorpe would be AMAZING - but the damn height limit is damn annoying. Hopefully an exception could be made for the second time. "An exception can't be made again - since when the restriction is lifted in 2016, another 200ft-ish coaster will be built. You can forget a 395 drop tower.
  12. I have seen how Chessington do things, I worked there last year!

2010: Ranger Country is combined with Calypso Quay. A Mega Disk'O is installed in the space previously occupied by Miss Hippo's Fungle Safari. Vortex and Zodiac are sent to CWoA and a Gyro Swing replaces both rides.2011: X No Way Out including building is demolished and an indoor backwards coaster is installed with special effects, state-of-the-art animatronics with nice themeing. A nice dark coaster to compliment Thorpe Park.2012: 1st infill: Tornado Alley is a new area which features a Flying Coaster called Thunderous Tempest. A brand-new themed Enterprise called Eye of the Storm also debuts. 2013: Rumba Rapids is replaced by a brand-new and modern rapids ride with nice mist effects and themeing. The ride is made more enjoyable. A waterside hotel is opened. 2014: Land has begun being infilled to the left of Colossus, around the dome and around various areas of park, which are for relaxtion areas of grass, trees, ponds. 2015: Carnivorous (2nd infill) is a new Floorless X-Car Coaster that features three unique inversions and a very unique "S" drop (seen in RCT3 Extended Coaster). A HUSS Jump 2 called Venus debuts and features water fountains and tropical scents.2016/2017: Logger's Leap is replaced with a brand-new modern Mack Log Flume and is co-built with a Bobsled Coaster to have both rides intertwine.2018: Destruction Valley (Forces of nature) debuts: Magnitudus Eruptus (Earth), a Wooden Coaster with 5-overbanked turns debuts at Thorpe on the 3rd infill.
  14. Chessington's reliability is a hell-of-a-lot better than Thorpe AND....Thorpe have been a lot more reliable in recent years. I am very proud of both parks and I wish them all the best

I love the unique prototype >>>"S&S"<<<Amity Cove - anything better than Celtic Cove?It was hard for me to read your post, there are so many spelling mistakes. Posts have to contain correct grammar and spelling, it is also a rule on the forum. There is no rush to complete posts nor is it a race. Everyone types fast, so it is possible to spellcheck (function) your posts. For the sake of my sanity (a bit dramatic), can you spell check your posts in future? This forum does have some standards.

No, correct. Not everything has to be new but if it is new, it does make it more exciting. It shows that the park is having unique and innovative rides that provide innovative and unique ride experiences. That's what Flamingo Land are doing with Mumbo Jumbo - being innovative and unique... but if it fails like G-Force at Drayton Manor, that's another thing.
  17. Here's the trick, contrary to popular belief, SAW is not themed to Canada Creek and is not part of Canada Creek. It has it's own island and the reason for this, was that SAW is too popular a brand to be implemented into a themed island. And it's is only shown on the map, so guests know in what part of the park is the coaster.

I think it would never come back to Thorpe in that case.

Random news:In 2011, I'll be going to Universal Studios Singapore and in 2016/2018, I will be going to Dubailand, which is going to be twice as big as Orlando.

A duelling woodie would be nice - I rode Gwazi and it was amazing. It could be something unique to Thorpe.

The point with Stealth, was that according to the plans submitted, Thorpe said that they wouldn't build another 115ft+ rollercoaster until 2016 when the LTDP runs out. The only point for that is for them to build their next 200ft+ coaster.According to the LTDM (Long-term development plans), XNWO would be replaced around 2014-2018

I would like to use this link to show what I am on about:http://ww2.runnymede.gov.uk/home/latest/wk...wk34/0965p1.pdfThe above link shows what Thorpe intended to do with Thorpe's long term future. Until there are new plans submitted I will have to refer to this plan submitted. There is a red line surrounding Thorpe and it shows Thorpe's development zone. Within this zone, there are two red-dotted line sections, one around Stealth and one just above Neptune's Kingdom. This area is titled Potential Development zone. There are two green-line sections, one surrounding Logger's Leap and one surrounding the middle of the park where the arena, Octopus Gardens and XNWO are. These sections are titled Improvement Area/Development Zone. There are some ovals with diagonal green lined-sections, one next to Colossus, which is Saw: The Ride, one small section in the middle of Logger's Leap, one large section next to Vortex and Zodiac, one section above the Dome and to the right of the 2nd red-dotted line section. There are 3 sections above Stealth are the infills and there is one section above the 3 infills, which is also out of development zone boundaries. The last section is right behind Stealth which will be used to link the main island to the infill islands. There is a big red arrow which points to a new entrance point. There are yellow horizontal lines which show service zone including car park and blue horizontal lines including car park. Finally there are two dark-blue sections which are compensation areas for the infills.

Well that would depend on what he so-called thinks the park are building. E.g...If he said that Thorpe were going to build another launch coaster, I'd say BS.Park employees might know some info because they work there and people inc. managers would tell them or if would be passed from person to person. They might be told some info if it affects them directly. However, the staff can't tell/discuss with anyone who doesn't work with them because they have to sigh a NDA. If the staff member said what the plans are, he/she could lose their job.

Let me elaborate:He says some things which do make me think, maybe there could be some truth. However he doesn't show who his source is and he even says he doesn't know who the source is but he believes them/it/he/she.If that was true, it would be very nice and I'd be impressed but I want to see some evidence first. It would be a different case, if he was a reliable and trusted source.

Where's the confirmation? If anyone says Sanbrooke - I'm gonna have a fit. :)He said something about a seesaw tilt at 45 degrees, where you go backwards. Then the Watchmen's hands come out of the wall and picks the car up and launched you backwards into the big helix.I'm excited - I'm still a bit skeptic though
