  1. The only reason I am considering somewhere so far away is that I think I would actually enjoy working there, rather than dish-washing like I do at the moment. If I didn't apply I would only be doing nothing in my summer holidays and every year is the same, my friends go away and I get so so bored.
  2. I don't think anyone can really tell, I'm looking for the answer to the same question, but about Chessington. I applied last year, but didn't make the interview stage - I think this was because my availability was only for the summer and I was going away for 2 weeks as well. I want to apply again this year, and I'm not going away in the summer so hopefully my availability would be a lot more appealing.I would consider other departments if I lived nearer, but as it takes me about an hour and three quarters minutes each way, I'm only interested in Rides and Attractions.
  3. I'm going next week and staying in the splash landings hotel... can annual pass holders get into the park for ERT though the woodland walkway at the back of the AT hotel?
  4. Are Chessington still doing 'friends' tickets this year on Annual Pass day? I've heard from someone that each AP holder is allowed 2 friends who can get in for £10 on the day if they don't own an annual pass, is this correct?
  5. Thanks for the help I called and emailed alton to ask them about the age to stay and I have been told by someone that he's pretty sure that you can stay at the hotel on your own (without an over 18) if you are 17, could anyone confirm this?
  6. Just a quick question.. when it says I can get a 20% discount off my hotel booking with my Annual Pass... does that mean off of just my fee or off of the entire booking? Thanks for any help
  7. Hi there, haven't been on in a while!I'm 17 and am planning to visit Alton with a few friends, would we be able to stay in the hotel? From looking through all of the T's&C's on the website it looks as if 16years is the age for an adult? Thanks
  8. Thanks James and Benin, I have done the walk before and I know it's really short, it would be bit silly paying for a bus to cover a 10-15 minute walk I agree, to be honest I think it will end up depending how many people are going, at the moment its only 3 but it could be as many as 10, in which case I will definitely do the walk.
  9. Just a quick question..... Is there a bus that goes from the park to Chessington South station? It's just that I'm visiting soon with some family and they are not too keen on walking back down leather head road at 8pm, so I wondered if there is a bus that you can catch to avoid the walk? And if so how much is it approximately?

    London Eye

Cool thank you for the help

    London Eye

Thanks I'm probably going next tuesday or wednesday, so it would probably be best to buy a ticket online. Would this cut the queueing?

    London Eye

I'm looking at going to the London Eye soon, I have a merlin pass but my friend doesn't. Can I just turn up on the day and buy a ticket? Or would it be better to buy a ticket for her online first? What are the queuing times like if you book tickets online, or if you buy tickets on the day? Many thanks
  13. I don't really know the situation of when schools go back, do most go back next monday? If so do you think it will be quiet at Chessington on the monday? It's just that I've got a free day so might take a trip up there if it's going to be worth it for a few hours.....
  14. I think it all depends on certain periods, by the end of the year I'll probably be back over to the Chessington side again
  15. The only factor that I am comparing them on is overall customer service and guest experience. And for that, Thorpe Park is winning in my books.
  16. Lol you must make a trip up there soon!
  17. Yesterday was one of the best days I've had at the park. To be honest I was very surprised at how busy it was during the day in spite of the rain (100 minutes for SAW, 80 for Colossus etc), which was far busier than a sunnier day I had last week. However, the best part came at 6pm. The park just seemed to suddenly empty out pretty much, and for the last two hours of park opening we didn't queue more than 5 minutes for anything. We first found the empty queue at Inferno at 6pm, and got 4 rides on that with no queue. Then we headed to Stealth, and got 2 rides on that with the queue starting on the stairs. Then we headed to SAW, where we got 4 consecutive rides with a less than 5 minute queue each time. Originally we were planning on leaving around 6pm to catch an earlier train, but we are so glad that we didn't!As I said, in spite of the rain it was a fantastic day, although it was very busy during the early hours of the afternoon. Staff were friendly and happy, and for once in my life I have to say that the staff yesterday on the whole were actually friendlier than during my visit to Chessington earlier in the week. Thorpe Park have really improved a great deal in my eyes this year, and for me, what was once a million steps away from the standard of Chessington, based on my past few visits to Thorpe I'd say it's now on a par with Chessington if not better at providing an overall experience. I'd seriously reccomend another visit if you've been put off visiting the park in recent years, it seriously has improved a great amount.

Does anyone know of any ride hoodies you can buy at Thorpe Park? (The ones without a zip down the front). I thought there used to be SAW: The Ride hoodies but I couldn't see those last week. Are there any other ride hoodies? Thanks
  19. Both of the above posts were inappropriate and highly rude. You're just as bad as each other.
  20. It just shows you what difference a bad weather forecast makes to visitor numbers, Dragon's Fury was 30mins for the most part of yesterday.
  21. How I got an A in Chemistry I'll never know!
  22. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen yesterday. While I was there it was taking 20 minutes to load the boat and start the ride each time, due to the 'we must have an over 16 year old at either end of each row' announcements. So, as you can imagine, having to sort through the queue to find single numbers of 16 year olds to fill the gaps took so much time.
