    Calgary Stampede

I agree, it was very colourful, but for me those bulbs just made it look like more of a carnival attraction that a permanant one in a theme park. However, with all of those bulbs it must have looked pretty impressive at night

    Eclipse

I went on Eclipse once in the summer. I couldn't agree more that it is far better suited to Chessington, and Rush couldn't have been a better replacement. It was an OK ride, just in the wrong park.

    Calgary Stampede

If they just got rid of those hidous bulbs and re-themed it to a canadian style, it would have made a mush better attraction. It was a good ride, but visually, just out of place.
  4. I think when Thorpe Park was a more family orientated park, more quiet, relaxing areas would be good. But now that the market is mainly thrill seekers, it is understandable that Thorpe want to install as many attractions as possible, and use up all of the space that they can to appeal to more guests per year. On a related note, I think it was a great idea to build another area for SAW, rather that remove an existing attraction and place it there. I think XNWO should stay, as it adds variety to the park.
  5. I might send in an application anyway, they might need some extra ride hosts for the busy periods (easter, summer break for example.) It's worth a try.
  6. I might always submit an application and see about starting a job for next year!Get organised lol
  7. Hey can anyone answer me this question?I am 15 and would love to work in thorpe as a ride host: really just checking bars and jobs like that , firstly: Are they still recruiting for this season and would it be the right time to send in an application? andsecondly: Would it be possible for doing very flexible shift work? for example: it would probably be easier for me to work in the holidays, and I would be interested in doing things like 1 week in the easter break, 4 weeks in the summer and working in all of the half terms, for example. I would be willing to work all day, every day for these times, but didnt know if it is possible to do such flexible work. Thanks Paul
  8. yeah I suppose. I can't wait for the first ride whatever they do, I'm sure it is going to be incredible seeing as they have given the ride a big build up (with the SAW stlye trailers, website, advertising etc). thinking about it now, just having the ride pitch black might be a bit cheap. anyway, we'll just have to wait and see
  9. Excellent. I have no idea on the music being used for the ride, but I presume they will stick to the Saw theme? Also, it would be great if they had speakers throughout the chain lift - to build up the tension as it were. I suppose because of the "more than 90 degree" drop, it will look like you will go straight into the saws. Also, does anyone know what will happen during the dark section of the ride? I.e.: will it be pitch black with noices of screaming for example, or something different?
  10. it could make a great combo, watch Saw 6 and then ride the record-breaking SAW:The Ride!. that would be awesome !I agree that the saw films have died.Saw 1 was good - good storyline, then the same with saw 2. Saw 3 was just mindless violence as was Saw 4 with even less of a good storyline. I used to be a Saw enthusiast, but I didn't even bother with Saw 5.Also, does anyone know if the saws at the bottom of the drop are going to spin? if so it would be so scary :S
  11. I love the sound of the brake run on Stealth, and the top of the chain lift on Colossus.
  12. I queued for 2 and a half hours for Colossus, but it was my first time riding, and the queue was advertised as 30 minutes. After riding it the first time, I wouldn't queue over 1 hour for anything ;)you just have to get the timing right of when you ride
