Confirmation of Slammer removal for 2024. praise be to Varney.

I kinda like it, and credit where credit is due, the videos have been great (though they don't talk about Dezza Brown.... still too raw). The Rush poster needs a disclaimer, as touching the sky depends what swing you are on. I like the direction the park is taking, and the amount of work they appear to be doing this closed season is good to see.

Indeed - they even mentioned the fatheads, Thorpe have become self aware! 😮
-
So video 2 is up - they mention TWDTR at the end, yet DBGT hasn't been mentioned... unless they reference that in the next one as Ghost Train, I'm guessing...? Have to say, kudos to Thorpe/Jack/Alice/all involved - these are great videos!

Credit where credit is due, Merlin are throwing a lot of cash at Thorpe this closed season. Hopefully this is the start of a turn around for the park...

Love it, it's a real Hoot Hoot of a theme. Genuinely though, looks good, hope the concept art comes to fruition. Makes sense with the surrounding area too.

Tegridy Farm will be the new land for 2024, confirmed by the manufacturers of the Tidal Wave new flame effect in leaked Whatsapp Message.

Parm Pap Park.

Merlin doing Merlin things. I don't understand. Just like the partial support repaint on the paths, where you can literally see where they decide to stop on each support.

Sorry for bringing the topic slightly off kilter... but still... Am all for "nods" to things that are easily noticable - e.g. the XNWO number plate on the crashed vehicles in TWDTR, but tiny details like mentioned above - which, literally does happen, as we all know from vlogs and such, just seem pointless and a back-scratching, THEME PARK FRIENDS! kinda exercise - that someone has actually spent time creating when you have to wonder, if that time could be better spent elsewhere...

My favourite Easter Eggs are small text in horror mazes that literally no one is going to read or see, thus questioning the point of doing it in the first place.
-
Has anyone created a coaster themed around literal Easter Eggs yet? Seems like a very Merlin idea since they love them so much.

The only person who knows what the new logo looks like is @Parm Pap

Fake as no broken/stuck pixels visible on screen.

Yep, agreed - looks absolutely ridiculous the more angles and close ups we get. Wow.

Archie has tweeted about it so no doubt he and the rest of the guys are involved in the retheme...

Derren Brown Land confirmed.

Yes - this year haunts seem to open very close to when doors open too, so get there nice and early is solid advice. Doom Town is a must do for the sets, as is Wastelands and also Coven of 13. I would skip The Island, personally, and Hellements 100%. What Matt said re: Cellar - it's right near the entrance so people see it first, so leave until later. Wastelands is odd as I genuinely think people don't realise it's there and just go for the outside fire and dance show (which is epic, btw!) Very true re: Hayride - I would leave that until last so then if you are in the queue, you get on it.

How SLKSTN manages to curate Fright Nights and manage this project as well as advising on construction changes is absolutely beyond me.

Was just saying on Twitter, I think part of the problem is a lack in number of mazes too vs previous years. Yes, quantity doesn't always mean quantity (See Vulcan Peak), but as someone who has been going to Thorpe for donkeys, paying out £30 to do 3 mazes (on Friday 13th) and then nearly not getting all 3 done (with 5 mins to spare) shouldn't be a thing... Ok, so we got to Stitches queue at about 6.15, and we stopped for 10 mins to grab food and walk, but honestly, I was not expecting it to be a stress. I don't think that makes me stupid, and I genuinely did not expect queue levels to be the size they were on that Friday. That said, our queues on 13/10 pale in comparison to those over the weekend. Reading online of people getting just 2 or 3 rides completed in a day - that's nuts to me, sorry. Something is wrong somewhere - I genuinely can't recall queues like those seen over the weekend on previous Fright Nights, unless I'm mistaken? 120+ minutes on anything significant - 100 mins on some flats. Bonkers.
-
Agreed. I was anticipating doing 3 mazes and a night ride or two in the 6-9pm slot, not be panicking we were about to be mugged off for £10.
-
To add as well - would have loved to have done Stitches again, as detail and the maze in general was awesome (shout out to the monkey with cymbals, horrific haha) - but that wasn't even an option in the evening! Luckily our run through wasn't with any particular numpties so got to enjoy it, but if I'd queued for 70+ mins and had it ruined, I would have been severely miffed. Noticed a separate queue line with the odd person using - was this RAP & Unlimited maze runthrough ticket holders?
