If I'm not beaten to it I should be able to get down there next weekend and camp out for a video. Seeing through the trees like this reminds me of the closed season 08/09 shots of Saw from Monk's Walk, but it looks nicer peeking through at a B&M than a Eurofighter!- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Looking at the water dummies you realise how stupidly massive everything is - the corkscrew, inclined loop, the tower (finally a good pic!), love it It's been a long wait for today since seeing those plans!- Parks, Rides And Coaster News
Not forgetting most US parks are only aiming for May-ish anyway rather than March.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I think that's a good shout on the helicopter... A very good shout. Compare that to a zoomed image of the previous time lapse photo, and what do you see in that spot? Nothing at all...- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I read the original question as asking if there will be two both running, or three with one as a spare. I don't think anyone was suggesting three would run at once, so I was just saying why Thorpe don't need a third as a spare.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Thorpe will only have two, as with Inferno I would imagine. I don't know about Intamin's policy but B&M require the trains to be stripped after a maximum of 365 days since the last inspection regardless of mileage run, so given Thorpe have a long closed season within that time frame they can do both at once. Some parks have one more train than is ever on the circuit if they don't have much of a closed season and have to rotate trains. I guess there is similar reasoning behind Colossus' two trains, although with Intamin like I say I don't know what they actually stipulate.- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
I think the entire train will be off the chain before the front is any way down the drop at all, but logically the slight down gradient of the half twist should be enough to sustain at least the speed of the train on the lift, and increase it slightly as more of the train crests the top. It should be very noticeable from the rear row I would imagine, as the weight of the front 6 rows moves down towards the end of the twist. After this point I think what you said will apply Jack, the first few rows moving onto the drop itself will cause very rapid acceleration and should provide a nice snap through the twist for the back couple of rows.- Random

This is far more interesting. How accurate it is is perhaps a question, but it's at least a nostalgic and fitting idea - from Sam on TTF: Any thoughts? I personally love this sort of thing, it would seem very fitting for Towers, JW and Anton as well.http://sw7.towerstimes.co.uk/177/secret-weapon-7-the-schwarzkopf-connection#more-177- Random

His inability to form a coherent paragraph leads me to doubt the validity of what he is saying.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Agreed Mer! I love sinking into the seats on flyers, and these look very similar. Wish I could buy one for my room like Top Gear did with car seats Maybe I'll just hog the test seat all day!- Parks, Rides And Coaster News
International projects don't get ignored here at all. Plenty of people take an interest, how boring would it be if we only followed what happened here? The forums would die altogether the years we get nothing.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
They are amazing! They look utterly evil - I love the industrial armour plating style stuff in the penultimate photo, the graphical finish is excellent (especially on the wheel guards), and the LEDs look brilliant. Any other Fallout 3 players notice the resemblance to Enclave helmets?!My camera is gonna be busy on opening day- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Good thing with this is it would be visible from the car park. Any volunteers?- Music

Revenge of the Mummy style turntable? Just an idea. Who knows!- The Smiler
Already looks promising in the pacing department if this is anywhere close to accurate. The video reaffirms my concerns about the final turn that I got when looking at the plans though - it has potential to be a real head smasher like Saw's turn into the brakes. Fingers crossed it won't be.- Television
I do like a good bit of Grey's Anatomy. I used to watch Casualty as well, but don't any more. I do however watch Nurse Jackie which is utterly hilarious, worth a look if you haven't seen it. So much hospital drama!- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
Army? I want an Apache! They just look so damn mean, would be brilliant with The Swarm. Somehow I doubt the MOD would want one just sitting there though Seeing one of these flying at Biggin Hill a couple of years ago is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen - I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
That's a good video! The ride is looking veeery nice there. But ay, 'tis the fire engine - on which note, anyone else notice they've put it in the lake the opposite way to that shown in the plans? It looks a bit strange to have reversed it in - the nose-dive position on the plans looks more natural!- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
He also posted the pictures someone on CF drew of trains that looked like church pews thinking they were the actual trains. Double hawk.Because I have the page on creator only rather than everyone I hadn't seen everything he's posted... I call blagging fanboy. Wouldn't worry - Josh's conclusion of "lack of knowledge" seems to sum this one up nicely!Edit again... The more of this I'm seeing the less I understand how ANYONE can believe this guy? He says the helicopter has been cancelled in the same thread of comments in which he says the trains aren't on site, no one can have seen them, and that they are the same as the Raptor trains. He also says he'd "go and sit outside the park on the day of testing" - he's obviously just a massive wannabe fanboi with nothing better to do than pretend to be important. In the words of George Carlin, "That's a good bull***t story!"- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
The water thing was indeed an issue but was resolved before we ever saw the plans published I think. I think the chopper will still be a part of the final ride. It's probably there now.And as for the trains... Who can say...- Television
On the subject of American sitcom / cheesy comedies, I just watched the first episode of New Girl on 4OD and I'm hooked! I'd been meaning to watch it online ever since seeing it advertised in the US during the summer, but now it's on here I've finally got around to it and it's hilarious. Zooey Deschanel's character Jess is so weird and quirky, as has been said in the papers in the run-up to it's premiere yesterday she's just an inch shy of being the most annoying person ever, but it's written so cleverly that she stays right on the edge of funny and cute and never goes over into 'really bloody annoying' territory. Looking forward to the next episode! - THE SWARM: Construction Updates
