"I had a feeling of trepidation when I entered The Smiler’s queue line, in the 2 months between The Smiler’s opening day and the day that I finally rode it, I’d heard some good things and some bad things. I’d heard horror stories of a ride more painful than Saw and a ride that was falling apart only 2 months after opening. I’m happy to say that The Smiler is a fantastic ride, its the best ride Alton have installed since Oblivion – It’s that good."

Alton Towers - Where the magic never ends!

Well, according to multiple enthusiasts, the magic had indeed ended, people say it like its happened only recently, but really "The Magic" everyone talks about died long ago, I'd say in around 2005, the image of manufactured magic went out the window. In 2011 the new, Seuss like , quirky marketing style started, its fine and it fits the park well in my opinion, but many long for the manufactured magic to return, but the truth is, although the manufactured magic is gone, there is still A magic in the park
And it lies within the Towers themselves
The majestic, Gothic masterpiece of the Towers possesses a bewitching magic unmatched by any other Theme Park, the surrounding Gardens and local lore creates a unique backdrop for a fantastic Theme Park, without the Towers themselves, the park would be an empty, hollow place.
Thing is though, Towers need to step up their game, some people dont notice the real magic when multiple areas of the park are looking tired and worn out, no number of new rides is going hide an often cracked and broken park, I love the place, But it is in dire need of a spruce up.
Although new investments will bring people in, lasting impressions will bring people back.

"I love The Swarm, I really do.
When it opened in 2012 it was refreshing to see a quality coaster with excellent theming that didn’t have an unnecessary gimmick.
And then in 2013, Thorpe cocked it all up."

I loved The Passing, I thought it was a great addition to the Fright Nights lineup that provided some great scares, however one thing that could of been done better was your death.
    The only thing that comes close to a simulated death in The Passing is when a gunshot sound is played when you get your picture taken, if this meant to be the simulation of death then it just makes no sense, as in the next scene you get your bag. They cant kill you before you before you get the bag, then it would just be putting a bag over a corpse, it should be done like this;
First, you enter the room with the room with the video, the lights are all turned on, a firing squad then enters, they raise they're weapons and as they fire, all the lights go out and air cannons blast at you, a dim light then comes on, the firing squad have now left, the video then plays, after the video is finished an actor dressed in dark robes silently leads you to the tunnels to begin the maze.
Personally, I think that this is a much better way of simulating your execution, its quick, its realistic (well, as realistic as you can get when you pretend to kill your guests) and its easy to understand, if something like this was this was put in place, it would take out one of my major gripes with the maze.
    Thanks for reading

Check out my review of The Passing on my shiny new WordPress, CoasterGeek, providing reviews of rides, events and attractions in the UK!
"Disturbing, Haunting, Unique. Those are the three words I would use to describe The Passing, Thorpe Park’s latest & most extreme Fright Nights maze yet…
After hearing many reviews of The Passing, I had low expectations, I was expected it to be crap, to my surprise though it turned out to be my favourite maze of the year. After getting the usual safety briefing (With the addition of warning you about the bags, the look on peoples faces were priceless) we entered the maze, we were lined up against a wall and told of our sentence and that after its all over, we would never be remembered..."

I think they should bring back Flaming Hot Wotsits. It would be amazeballs.
Ah, Wotsits, t'are the food of my legendary Punjabi forefathers. One day I can only hope that I, Maximillian Wellingtonboots, will be able to, like my legendary Punjabi forefathers, become a Wotsit myself. I make it my divine purpose to satisfy one person's need for a slightly depressing, cheese-flavoured puff of wheat and MSG.
I'm coming for you, moistened tongue muscles. Release my flavour!
