  1. Oh man, I literally cannot wait, my friend is literally going to have a heart attack in Experiment 10 I can't wait to tease her with what might happen inside. Friday couldn't come soon enough.
  2. The number is 07786204032 by the way.
  3. I'm fairly sure you need a full priced ticket to do a bounce back. The only reason I say this is because multiple times, on the way out I've had people approach me asking if I had one that they could use. But hey, you could always try this approach if your confident in your people skills.

I'm heading to Thorpe on Sunday, and was just wondering if anyone can confirm if they've stuck with the dance music, or they've made any minor changes at all? Personally I loved the ride with the lights and the music, it was a comlete sensory orgasm imo.
  5. Oh wow those arm gaurds look really stupid and really uncomfortable. I hope they don't use them.
  6. I'd say Thorpe because The Aslyum is probably the best scare maze in the UK in my opinion. And because the park is so small, they're able to logistically rig smoke machines, lights and speakers pretty much everywhere, and have the whole park covered in an atmospheric smog, which really is epic. However Alton has a better overall variety. I promised I'd take my friend to AT this year instead of Thorpe, because she hates scare mazes, but doesn't mind stray actors, or even stuff like Duel Alive. That said, it can all be a little sparse. Obviously rigging speakers up the the entire park to play atmospheric music would be impossible (or cost a fortune) and to a certain degree it still has to be all family friendly. The concept of actors roaming the park is kind of new to the UK, but its good to see its catching on, I hope Thorpe start putting roaming actors on site like at AT. I aboslutely LOVE the guy on piano that rolls along towers street playing away.
  7. Thorpes evolution really does show no signs of stopping. They really seem to be aiming for that Thrill Park status, and if they carry on like this, it really will be the worlds one and only concentrated thrill park, which is an exciting prospect. You can tell customer numbers and customer satisfaction is up, and because of this Merlin are willing to pump more and more money into Thorpe. Luckily their creative team is world class, and now we could finally see an investor with enough faith to fund whatever the park want to do, to the fullest extent. I hope The Swarm comes to be exactly what the creators were aiming for!

Someone was asking about this in the Quick Questions forum, but I thought I'd post it here too, I have a feeling the song being played is the song below, but obviously a slightly remixed version and with no vocals.
  9. I haven't been in a month, so I'm going a slightly vague memory, but I really think the song used is an edited version of the song below, obviously without the vocals too.
  10. By the way, the chinese writing in the google search is completely unrelated.lc12.com was already taken by what looks like a chinese shopping site. It did seem a little weird that they had to go for a .net domain, so checking .com was my first reaction. just a bid of bad luck on their part really
  11. Well I think this is the first comfirmation that this is directly related to the whole 2012 crap, I mean it was pretty obvious, but its nice to see the actual comfirmation which is cool. This'll go down a treat with the GP, and enthusiasts alike which is great. We get an awesome theme, and some cool publicity stunt to play with, and the GP will be drawn in by the whole end of the world stuff since they probably believe in it.Oh and one of the metatags for the site is:whyareyoulookinghereyoushouldbelookingforthemThere's probably a few other things on the site hidden, but I don't have time to look right nowOh and in case you're wondering, the site was registered by Merlin, so its not just some fan made site.
  12. How can something be a failsafe, when you can't know for sure some idiot hasn't taken the seatbelt out half way through the ride? There's nothing there to stop you. I haven't really checked, but there's a possibility that if you were between ratchets, and it slipped back into the 2 safety notches, the seatbelt stops the restraint going too far out from the body, which would probably be uncomfortable. This would also explain why its usually only ratchet coasters that click(I.e Colossus and Inferno) have them, and rides like Saw don't. Of course this is all just speculation. Someone email John Wardley! He loves to answer these types of questions.
  13. The facebook tag event could go one of two ways if you ask me.It COULD be busy as hell, and probably be a disaster, with rides breaking down left right and center, and queue times reaching 120 mins+Or you could look at it this way; not everyone owns a phone capable of Facebook Places, in fact the demographic most likely to have one will be 13-30 year olds. So, 13-17 year olds will most likely still be on school on friday, even if they bunked, they'd still have to get to the park, and I doubt *most* parents would approve of them missing a day to drive them up there. And the older guys will also likely have work, two weeks notice isn't much at all really. And the best part? They can't phone in sick, because EVERYONE is gonna know where they are! haha...Now lets look at it from Alton Towers' point of view. This event is GENIOUS!!! Free ride testers, if anything breaks down noone has the right to be angry. Free publicity! The amount of people who will look at "Person is at Alton Towers" and think oh man I really wanna go there! And in fact, they will probably make more money from merchandise than they ever would have on entry fees. But really, its a catch 22. If it's not busy, then they'll never do this type of event again which would be a shame. But if it is then...
