#hateofallkindsColour of course matters because the appearance matters. What would suit the ride more/look better, grey and black or yellow pink? (lol X at Six Flags)I'll probably get all kinds of hate for this, but does the color of the track/supports even matter? There's no point getting all feisty about the color scheme, it won't affect the ride...
-
Nobody was suggesting bright colours like Silver Bullet's track has.I think many of of us were just hoping for a darker grey colour for the supports or vice versa.Swarm is grey, not black for one thing...And why does the track and supports having the same colour matter? Do we want a Silver Bullet look to it?Big coasters often work better as big and evil contraptions, depending on the theme of the ride of course... So why a dark colour shouldn't be chosen when this is the apocalypse, I don't know...Also, I find that darker coasters work well in photos very well, regardless of weather... And really, the colour will affect the ride in absaolutely no way... Here's something I'm gonna throw out here after riding Raptor which will probs be contraversial to a few people... Swarm will probs be the best ride at Thorpe, but it won't be the most intense due to the very nature of the ride...And if you are of considerable girth, forget it...

That's what I was thinkingGonna throw it out there, but the track and supports seem to be identicle in colour?

My favourite ride in the park hands down.I think Alton Towers should realise that a sponsership such as Fanta destroys the original purpose of one of the park's most iconic rides, that is, to create a dark and mysterious atmoshpere which provides guests with the maximum experience and creates a larger impact from the ride and thus the park.

It's the best coaster in the park until Swarm comes along

Can't blame you for not wanting to read all the previous posts to be honest lol. From my understanding this is mainly promotional as the entrance to The Swarm will be on the island behind Stealth so it's just to get the hype up ya know. I think it will stay as it is for Fright Nights and the new maze will be on the other side of Neptune's Beach next to The Curse.

Old news I'm affraid, can't wait for Frigth Nights thoughTHE SWARM entrance or maybe a fright night maze http://www.flickr.com/photos/62351486@N06/6109850719/

Must have been a rather expensive visit buying all those onride photos Josh?
-
I'm so with you on this one Josh, it appears Mark is looking for an debate over nothing...

Shame the layout has the same elements as Swarm's, only two significant differences, X-Flight has an immelman where Swarm has an inclined loop and X-Flight has an extra helixy bit at the end

Is that Marc? -
That new SF ride looks cool, although it seems they have an 'inverted drop' too by the looks of things. I wonder if such a poorly themed, concrete park are going to make a big effort for theme like the 2 other Wing-riders have done, saying that I do like the colours. The trains aren't as well themed as the European ones which is a shame. My guess for the name of this ride - 'DareDevilDrop', or as Benin has hinted - 'Ninja' is also a very popular name. SF have a habit of using names from their other parks and the name suits it if the drop is going to be as illustrated on that image.I imagine they'll go for 'tallest, fastest, (most concrete)' Wing-rider in the world lol. BUT, it does look awesome

That's my mum's birthday lolMost schools will be back by that time so should be alright I think. Wednesdays are normally a good day to go because its mid-mid-week. So to quote Mark9 - "Likely to be very empty, particularly in term time. Queue time should be minimal"Hope this helpsApprox q times on 7th Sept?

I'd like to think so, can't remember Inferno's opening because I wasn't bothered about coasters then but I remember Stealth and SAW getting off to a rough start along with Slammer. Hopefully Swarm will be fine though10 minutes 2 hours ya know. B&M tend to be more reliable, am I right?
-
SAW was open for 2 hours on opening, managed to get on and get a free fastrack for next time. Result!Let's hope this ride is a tab more reliable though on opening, SAW was unfortunate.*It was sarcasm just to make it clear I'm sure Thorpe wont get somthing as big as this behind schedule. Even if it's open for 10 minutes like some other rollercoaster I won't mention.
-
Ah this looks so amazing! I shall have to revisit the park in years to come
-
I think you'd be slightly naive to assume it is hated by the coaster community. There's obviously a reason why it is so successful. And for me, it's the best manufacturer out there next to B&MI've always found it amusing that it's always an Intamin ride which is such a bad joke in the coaster community... INTAMIN *shakes fist*
