Has the introduction of the new loop stopped speakers cutting/not working or is that unrelated?
-
The new stealth side loop is very much needed, pleased about that
It's a shame the original loggers announcements don't play anymore.
-
Not currently. There is a link a couple of posts back with high quality recording of area music, but the actual sound files are not around yet. I suspect there is a bit of a thing with Lionsgate owning all the audio?

2nd April 2009THORPE PARK’S WATERSIDE HOTEL DEVELOPMENT APPROVEDTHORPE PARK is delighted to announce that on Wednesday 1st April, the Runnymede Borough Council resolved to grant outline planning permission for the proposed development of the waterside hotel with unanimous support from the planning committee. Merlin Entertainments Group, who owns the theme park, is committed to continual investment in the long-term success of THORPE PARK and these proposals are central to this. A hotel will not only enhance the quality of experience for day guests to the Park but also responds to growing customer demands for quality short break tourist destinations. Chris Edge, Head of Development at THORPE PARK comments: “We are very pleased that the planning committee recognised the economic benefits that the development will bring to the local area. This is a fantastic development, which we believe will secure the future of the theme park in a very competitive leisure industry, whilst also securing 300 new jobs which are needed in these difficult economic times.”THORPE PARK is one of the top five employers in the area and, with a hotel operating all year round the Park will be able to provide more full time jobs, as well as other spin-off benefits to the local community with associated spending by the hotel, guests and its staff. Additionally, by increasingly offering activity for 365 days a year, and spreading customer visits more evenly, this will reduce the peaks in traffic movements and improve the operation of the Park. The hotel development follows on from the success of THORPE PARK's latest thrill installation, SAW - The Ride. The world’s first ever horror-movie themed rollercoaster included a total investment of £13.5m and joins an impressive portfolio of rides and attractions that have taken the Park’s total investment to over £50m in the past 10 years, including investment in improved infrastructure and customer service.- Ends -
Sounds interesting! I expect these are the plans which were granted. They mention that it will 'reduce peaks in traffic movement' of customers, surely the hotel will only attract more people and even out the customer levels to a higher rate, so peak times occur more often? I expect that makes no sense to anyoneAlso, before anyone says "OH APRIL FOOLS" - it's from the offical press page of the park! Here.

To be honest I fail to understand how playing a certain instrument can be unoriginal. Maybe what you play is unoriginal, but otherwise that comment is ridiculous. You can play any style on any instrument tbh, just some are more suited for the job than others. I think it's a shame that so many people are put off playing instruments by teachers etc forcing it upon them. My dad used to always play, and therefore he started to teach me. It always ended in stupid arguments because thats how it goes when your parents try and teach you something when your small, but from that I managed to get lessons and play without the encouragement of others. It's a nice thing to do though, just sit down and play some music that you really like.

Piano
I absolutely love it. I've been playing for ages but only recently discovered how much I enjoy and relish it. Hopefully gonna be learning acoustic guitar soon.
-
Thats because you have to wait a little longer for the first train to clear the block. Also, is it an actual animatronic? If you're on the second train you stop next to the doll and he speaks to you for a bit. Learn something new everyday!
-
No, we have no idea. Sorry.
-
I'm liking some of those shots which I presume are for the advert that show up about half way through.
-
My name is down for Sunday already, even though I hadn't confirmed - but I'm definately coming now
Can't wait.

Yesterday called - they want their map back. I always thought it would be interesting if the park changed the angle from which the map is drawn. I assume it's done to coincide with the entrance? I suppose if it were any different it may confused some people.

There is completed theming on Zodiac, Quantum and Inferno. I wonder if that will be added. There is blood under the headchopper on SAW. I wonder if that will be added.
-
I'm quite interested in what the area music will be. I'm thinking it might not even be music, but sort of police announcements about the warehouse and dangers etc - in a way like WWTP, about a tidal wave coming etc?
-
Yeah I think I can see something too, and maybe a speaker on the right? Ah well - not long until we know fo sho.
-
Peak times I would say. If actors are being reintroduced into the park - maybe one will be popped into the stealth DJ booth? I'm doubtful.
-
I have been spending far too much time looking at the lastest constuction pictures and noticed that there are a couple of footers placed to the left hand side of the entrance. Alas. I'm wondering if this is for some theming which is yet to come - eg. An alternative to the wind turbine?
-
Wow - never seem them before, haha. I must say that Thorpe have kept very true to their original designs, which is often quite a rare occurrence.

The 'blue hut' is the basis for the shop. As you can see from this photo, a more permanent roof has been put on, soon to be followed by walls.
-
True. I'm pretty sure the feature sign was intended for the space where the shop now stands. Likely to be placed on top of or next to the shop I suppose.I'm pretty sure the plans don't show any sign in the centre of that structure above the access gates.I think the sign saying Saw the ride will be in the middle of that area as you enter the island.
-
Entrance (and view in 'all sizes')They've installed the information boards etc and the signs about each queue. Just waiting for a big "Saw - The Ride" sign in the centre I think. Also you can see that they have installed some cameras which look good eg. entrance structure and corner of station building. Details darling details.Ally Graham's photos - southparks.
-
Even if this Themeing is only from Lionsgate - it has set a standard and given Thorpe a well needed kick up the butt. I suppose future investments will have to show this, but that's my theory.
-
Seems doubtful but maybe a budget cut? I'd say it would be too last minute though.
