  1. I think if the park had an Annual Pass day, The Swarm would remain closed as I'm sure the demand would be twice if not three times then that of Storm Surge last year which could lead to the park hitting capacity

In what way and justifications could you give to 'not opening a ride cos it'll be busy'?! Are you for real?
  2. Funny when I happened to pass the park yesterday only the top of Rush was missing... :)

Funny that the top section of the ride was reconstructed only last week Ricky. The ride is missing all four sections to the swing, top swing and hood so I'd consider that as 'non existent'.Thanks for your ratification of the fact though Ricky.
  3. Was this part of the reason why Fury is "temporary"? (What's the current deal with that btw, anyone know?) And whilst we're on the subject of Fury, was anyone paying attention enough at the time to know what it did for the park in terms of success?

Fury is not in a good state. Being open for opening day will be long shot. The fact that the ride lift does categorically not have enough supports for the lift, or is installed with the right pins into the ground. This was part of the reason it was retracked in 2005 (I think it was then). It is looking like it needs to be retracked again, due to the stress on the ride.
  4. There are plenty more reasons that ToTK will be moving - the land type an how much damage it's done to that area. When Rattlesnake was built; one of the sides of the hole they had dug to fit the ride into, fell in onto a digger overnight. This may sound amusing but the whole park is sliding down the hill towards Leatherhead Road. It's not anything fast but 1-2inches a year - you can see the amount of cracks in the floor in the area from Greedy Goblin down to the bottom of ToTK, along with Sealion Bay. It's done a lot of damage to the animal enclosures so it's probably a no go area for new ride development.Random fact of the day: The hotel is built on 100m deep foundations, however it currently sits 1 metre above ground level so the water ingress doesn't affect it.

  5. Samurai appears to be needing a lot of closed-season maintenance again.Drove round Thorpe down the M4 (or is it the M3) yesterday and it was parked concerningly, with the "claw" vertically into the air, and by the look of it a scissor-lift going up next to it. Such a shame. I do hope it makes opening this year, was such a shame it didn't in 2011 :(But yeah, I felt it was something obvious to mention. Samurai is having work done on it still. Deterred from the brick-paving argument in the SWARM topic. :D

Samurai has been sat like that for a good three days. Considering Rush doesn't currently exist - I wouldn't worry yet - the park opens in forty days.
