Yeah but it's likely it'll still be closed on the 26th of August when I'm going!?

Ghosty stealth and fish were closed all day. Apart from that I didn't see any rides that went down. Queues ran fast and fast track really wasn't a problem. We all got free return tickets but still very frustrating having ghosty and stealth closed especially for people who have travelled a long way to thorpe.
On the subject of ghosty. Since it has been open I have been on 4 separate days. only 1 of these days has had ghost train open for more then 2 minuets. I have tried to ride it 5 times with only 2 successes. My failures happened when I was in the pres-how, In the baggage area and when I was at the front of the queue.
Ah okay thanks, at least I have a chance of a free return!

So I'm going to be at Thorpe for the first time in about a month and a half on the 26th, are there any rides that have been experiencing any downtime recently? Also has the scenario with Stealth changed at all?

I've visited quite a bit over the last 4-5 years ( I don't have a MAP so they're sporadic visits) and I've never had a rollercoaster be down all day or even half the day. Saw and Colossus have had minor breakdowns while I've been there but the only full day closures I've ever seen were Slammer, Samurai and Loggers Leap!
-
Slammer, as great as it is, has been needing to be thrown in a skip for the last 4-5 years really. We should probably realise by now that Thorpe aren't going to get rid of it in the next couple as either they can't be arsed when they have a ride that still works a quarter of the time or they just like throwing money away. Fingers crossed Slammer still has a dignified end.
-
Colossus had to be Evaced earlier on the lift, no idea why.
-
This is the opposite of me. I've been numerous times in the past 2 years and 90% of the time it seems to be operating. Slammer though is another matter...!
2/5 times Samurai has been open for me and 2/5 Slammer aswell![emoji23]

In fairness I've been 5 times since August 2013 and it's been up twice. Once in August 2013 and once in April 2014 I believe.I've been to Thorpe Park 7 times since October 2014 (my first visit) and have never seen the attraction in operation...

I have size 10 shoes and if I get bigger ones they won't fit in the foot wells
Mine are 11 1/2 and I can barely keep them straight! I have to ride front seat or front of each car or my knees get murdered.

I could see it being 2018 tbh instead of next year.

I knew what it WAS, but why the ____ is it being made into a coaster...

A Big Apple with a Peach instead?

Okay, different kind of question here but does steeplechase count as three credits if you do all three lanes? Just wondering as I'm doing a bit of a tally up.

I noticed that the yellow boat stopped at the same place (top of the lift) four times on Thursday, and had to be evacuated 3 times! (I'm unsure whether it happened a fourth time). was very unusual.
I don't actually know the problem but I thought they'd fixed that over closed season. Happened quite a bit during my late season visits.

Yeah because sw1 2 and 3 were all record breakers.
Well yeah, I believe SW1 and SW2 were each going to be the first of their kind in Europe and Nemesis was the first Inverted coaster in Europe.

correct me if I'm wrong.. but I'm pretty sure sub terra wasn't a high year investment... it opened in 2012 didn't it alongside ice age 4d? I think that was the medium investment, then the smiler being the large in 2013.
Yeah I believe that was the case.

I've just had a notification on Facebook saying that "Nick Tarbard cancelled the event "Alton Towers Open Day" "

Tbh the dinosaurs don't look as good as the ones in Land Of The Living Dinosaurs at WMSP, but obviously there's no rides in that walk through.

For the 2016 season WMSP are shipping in a Giant Spinosaurus! This will be bigger than their current T-Rex and will be fully animatronic. Obviously this will go in last years new attraction Land of The Living Dinosaurs.

Can anyone provide a version of The Swarm's area music that hasn't been recorded onsite, or at least one of reasonable quality?
You mean the full song that You Me At Six made? If so then http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd7qgRPpd3w

Isn't there a Flying Dutchman too. That would mean 2 flyers in 1 park.
If you're on about Flying Welshmen it doesn't look like a Flying Dutchman. To me, what I'm personally hoping for is Knightmare from Camelot.

Aren't all the rides Vekoma?
Looks like it, I just thought the Stingray was worth pointing out.

Plans have been submitted for a 20 acre theme park in Llanelli, Wales. It would Neighbor Oakwood and have 26 rides and around 7 rollercoasters. See http://www.themeparks-uk.com/other-parks/news/new-theme-park-in-wales-with-26-rides. One of these coasters would be the first of it's kind in Britain, built by Vekoma. From the look of it on the map( see link) it looks like a Vekoma Stingray!
