  1. Just had a thought! Can I put forward another idea (please don't hate me, this IS a joke!) What if a 'dark secret' meant a POLdark secret?!?! I for 1 wouldn't mind a ride that took you on a journey through the Cornish mines if it meant we got to see Aidan Turner in 4D ;D however this idea may have the fatal flaw in that it would only attract half of the population :') Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just been reading the latest on WC16, loving all the hype! Here are my thoughts on the matter: I personally think Merlin have done too much branded stuff recently (eg angry birds, I'm a celeb, CBeebies land, ice age 4d etc..) so I'd prefer to see an original concept for the next ride, especially after the swarm's success! I personally love the idea of a Jack the Ripper theme, however I do think it's unlikely as it could cause a lot of controversy being a ride trivialising horrific true events. I do think a sfx ride is on the cards and I would say a branded theme probably lends itself best to that kind of ride. I think the Doctor Who speculation is interesting, and could really work for a sfx ride, however I don't think it fits with the hints we've been given. For example I don't think Doctor Who is dark enough to be a 'dark secret', especially when it comes to considering TPs reputation when it comes to darkness (ie saw the ride and fright nights) Just my thoughts so far
  3. Today is the final day so I need as many responses as possible! Please if you have been to Fright Nights take 2 mins to fill this out! Thank You! Hello Thorpe Park Maniacs! I'm hoping to carry out a survey that will be used as part of my psychology A-level, and you're participation would be really helpful! I'm looking into whether being in anticipation of a scary event, and after experiencing a scary event, affects how frightening your dreams are. If you wish to participate, please record how scary your dreams are on a scale of 1-10 (1 being not scary at all, 10 being like a never ending overnight Blair Witch stay with actors from the asylum!) on 1) the night before you go to Fright Nights, 2) the night you go to Fright Nights and 3)the night after you go to Fright Nights. The data I collect will be anonymous and will only be used as part of my coursework, and wont be shown anywhere else. I would be so grateful if you took the time to participate! If you find any mistakes with the survey, or any ways to improve it, please let me know that I can change it before I submit it for my coursework. Thank you so much to those who participate, and I hope everyone has a great time at Fright Nights! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VCNVMSY

  8. I'm also a bit of a wimp in mazes but I do them anyway (often with my eyes closed). I've done saw alive back when it was an all year round attraction, and forced my friends to go in front and behind me so that I could hang on to their shoulders, close my eyes and shuffle through. It does work! Although to give to a work of warning, before you do that make sure your shoelaces are done up, and the actors tend to pick on the people who are more scared! Last fright nights was the first time I went through a whole maze with my eyes open, it was the passing, and I actually didnt find it as bad as I was expecting, so Id say go for it! This year I'm hoping to do all the mazes (fingers crossed I will be brave enough!) Especially looking forward to the asylum! (its fun to be terrified!)
  9. Thanks! Which would you say is better? Plus has anyone on here done the blair witch overnight experience yet or plan to do it? I'm not planning on doing it but interested to know what its like
  10. SO excited about fright nights! does anyone know whether it is likely to get split from your group in MBV and CITW?
