  1. I'd have thought that to be the other way, last day before kids return to school etc. Maybe we'll go then lol.
  2. If you can wait until next week I guess it would be better, 99% of Surrey schools go back Monday, those that have INSET Tuesday. The wife professed a desire to return to Thorpe on Sunday and I simply said no way (or words to that effect lol).
  3. The good thing about children's TV is it's generational, it doesn't need to have 15 series of 24 episode each to stay popular, because as one generation grows out of it, another will be becoming interested, Balamory is a prime example, still being broadcast a decade after it was cancelled. Don't think it's this though, unless the ride itself takes on something similar to the Black Cab ride at Tussauds and could perhaps play a different attraction each week.
  4. That's half the fun of it, speculate like mental now and see who was right later down the line.
  5. I can't remember which on of the three that it is, Maleficent was just the first name that popped into my head. Wouldn't think Disney would let an IP go either but never say never as a good friend of mine always says.
  6. Isn't that Maleficent's perfume bottle?
  7. In answer to the question on the previous page no I haven't been on the rides mentioned, I guess for me it's like a 4D cinema, just don't see the point, you're there to watch a movie not be poked in the back and sprayed with water at random intervals, I'd rather have a real coaster thanks, there's so much potential at Thorpe for a special one, if it wasn't for the NIMBY's (if that is a problem).
  8. http://www.dynamicattractions.com/products/trackless-dark-rides/ What the ****? Nobody's going to all for this 'virtual' ride crap as they?
  9. If I sit in any right hand seats on Swarm I get a headache after (really bad one too), but if I sit in a left side seat, I'm fine. We sat on the last front facing seats on the left last time (our regular seats) and it was noticeably faster than the previous visit, so much so that my son even mentioned it which is unheard of as he never takes any notice of that stuff.
  10. It's probably cheaper, or someone at Merlin has a thing for this kind of theming. BBC still own Ripper Street BTW, it's just funded by Amazon who have first airing rights and produced by Tiger Aspect, but the crux of it is still owned by Auntie.
  11. Ripper Street is based in Whitechapel too, the building also looks like the Signal box oppersite the police station in the series. Has this been confirmed to be a rollercoaster? I do hope it's not another maze.
  12. Shhh we had the same (flashed premium pass and girl waved us through the fast track entrance jumping a 90 minute queue), we didn't question it either lol, same a tussards, showed pass to random person on door, got escorted through fast track entrance) and the aquarium (not that we went in there, but the guy told us to use fast track). Either the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, or, well, I dunno... but I don't correct these things...
  13. You guys seem to have a lot of faith that Paramount will be better, what makes you think this?
  14. Can't blame them tbh. We went on the last day of my sons term, he had early closure, so the place was empty and all the rides walk on (this was a Thursday), a friend went on the following Monday (against my advise) and said they would never be returning, they waited nearly 2 hours to get on the Dragons ride (the rollercoaster that has the spinning cars) and over the course of the entire day only got on 3 rides. I feel sorry for the staff, it's not their fault Merlin is more interested in profit than customer satisfaction.

  16. Washing machine theming for Colossus IMHO.
  17. When we tootled past the maintaince shed on Thursday going back to the station I took a look at the door and it didn't even look like it had been opened for months.
  18. I hate the 'must be an instant success' expectations of corporations. The only thing wrong with Swarm Island is it could do with a second entrance/exit, one that takes you over to Stealth directly, instead of having to walk back the way you do, oh and the track could be longer as I said, I'm sure in the years since the ride has more than paid for itself in gate fees, I've never understood a bean counters mind, they always seem to set their expectations so high that they are almost guaranteed to fail.
  19. Why is Swarm considered a failure? It's a pretty good ride IMHO, could be a tad longer but so could most of the rides at Thorpe.
  20. About £29.9 Million too much, could have spent that on a half decent rollercoaster that would last eons longer.
  21. VIP's, the new inconsiderate arseholes of Thorpe Park. Disclaimer, you need to have a sense of humour and have seen The Inbetweeners Thorpe Park episode to understand this, if not, it's a joke... no need to get your panties in a twist.
  22. 45 mins after closing? Haha I bet you were the only ones left in the park, we were on the M25 by 6.20 and had the last run, or last but one run on Stealth and even we thought we were late out. We ran past celeb at about five to six and there were tons of people in the queue, Jr took one look and said screw that.

This thing was running again today, but really slowly, never been on it so don't know if that's normal but noticed it spinning while on way to loggers.
