Hi Marc, no, it was "broken". The ride went down just before we entered with Fast Track, we waited around 10mins, the ride host pocked her head back round from the side of the curtain and said ... "the Pre-show is broken, we will have to walk you straight through." So yeah, "broken" ...

Oh, and for those who have been wondering, I can confirm one of the two freaky dolls heads from original advertising is now living in Derren Brown's bedroom. I am a huge fan of Derren, and went to one of his talks a week or so ago promoting his new book; "Happy". The evening, entitled "No Tricks: An Evening with Derren Brown" consisted of two parts, the later a simple "Q&A" segment when you can ask the master mind anything you desire. I was racking my brains to try and ascertain a polite way of asking what his opinion was of DBGT, however did not wish to offend in front of a few 100 people. A younger girl however stuck her hand up and asked about the location of said dolls, he looked a bit taken aback and said one of them was in his bedroom; and then quickly proceeded to change the subject adding the dummy used from "Pushed to the Edge" was also in his humble abode, and then talked about the TV episode with no further mention to DBGT My partner was with me at the time, but had not ridden DBGT. After Saturday when he finally got on it - he said , quite literally; "No wonder you didn't want to ask him about the ride the other week, he must be totally ashamed his name has anything to do with this shambles".

After riding DBGT several time this year, our experience on Saturday was an absolute and utter joke, no, incredulous. Pre show was "broken" so simply walked though. VR1, out of focus in parts but finally had a different character. Evacuated by staff before the VR had even finished which I thought was rather hilarious considering this is the best sequence of the ride. As we all know, 2nd segment is still broken, completely and utterly pointless/boring. VR2 the usual atrocious PS2 graphics and the majority of it was green smoke, the most I have ever experienced. It was as if we had a minute or so of footage, smoke, minute or so of footage, smoke. 3 members of our party had never ridden it before, and only 1 of the 4 segments worked correctly. Why even have the ride open, it's a disgrace. Needles to say all of my party though it was a joke and can't even be bothered to try it next year with new scenes. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however if I were you I would not get my hopes up for next year. They can say what they want, all they will do is attempt to fix broken headsets/lights on a stick, and provide a second ending which should have been in play already. After Saturday all hope is now gone, I'm out DBGT.... gutted, as I would love to love this ride.

@TPMSam when you say 3 different scenes, do you mean scenes or characters? You can see my full opinion on the spoilers tab, I was left (like most) at the end of the ride saying "is that it" "wtf" etc. and not wanting to ride again. I did, however, have a FT ticket for it, so went on a 2nd time begrudgingly. Although I had exactly the same characters, story line etc. both myself and my friend stated how much better it was the 2nd time round. I would encourage everyone to try and get a couple of goes on it, IMO it gets better (but I have only ridden it twice).

Do you mean V2 demons? I have never seen anyone get snatched by a demon. I have to say I must be very unlucky, fair enough I have only been on it twice but it was exactly the same for me each time!

I think it is Derren - the older chap! I got a younger bloke both times with a supposed cockney accent. Does the 2nd ending still entail the woeful 2nd VR sequence, or is simply a case of the last 30 seconds or so being different?

I believe so MattyMoo, but we are still waiting for the 12 different experiences and the 2nd ending to my understanding. But as I say, maybe the 12 "experiences" are already there and I was just unlucky. For example I had the same character talking to me at the beginning, others had a different person each time. If that is 1 of the 12 different "experiences" however I am not all that impressed! There was a child on one journey at not the other, but those were the only changes I am aware of. I assumed as of the press launch the ride is now live opposed to rehearsals, I went before that however. I mean a significant drop, to me that felt like a small tilt! Ha, me too, I was sooooo close to taking it off, was starting to think everyone had gotten off and I was sitting there on my own like a muppet! When we first put the headsets on I could not see any other passenger from the very beginning, a friend has told me you are supposed to see other people around you at the beginning and they then disappear when the ghouls show up - can anyone confirm if they have experienced this?

I won't go into great detail, however I went last Tuesday and rode twice. Thorpe Addict has literally summed up everything I was going to say, wholeheartedly agree (and I too got the looping "fog" for 2 minutes on the 2nd ride, very annoying). 2 of my party purchased ultimate fast track, and we received a one shot fast track for DBGT. I would like to point out it was very clearly labelled as still being at technical rehearsal stage. After watching the POV I can already see several minor changes that were not in place last Tuesday. First ride of the day we queued for an hour (we all wanted to go on together), I was left so disappointed I almost didn't use my fast track as I wasn't that fussed to ride it again. However, to my surprise, I enjoyed it far more the 2nd time round (bar the annoying fog!). There weren't very many changes however in the VR sequences, maybe I was just unlucky. Really excited to have the 2nd ending - I'm secretly hoping it will be vastly different, as most people have already pointed out, the 2nd VR sequence is literally laughable. Still gutted there was no big drop at the end, that would have been amazing! I have a rather long list of pet peeves, however, my greatest disappointment . at no stage was I remotely tested in terms of my perception of reality. I was very aware of what was going on. All in all, 6/10, however I have the hope/excitement that with a bit more time and money thrown at it it has the potential to make up the remaining 4. Or I could just be setting myself up for further disappointment, only TP knows!

I'm sorry to be pessimistic guys; but I think it will be longer than a week or two! But hey ho, when it is ready it is ready. I am devastated and understand why people are disappointed, but I second the general consignment; I'd rather board when it is ready and perfected rather than have a terrible experience after all this waiting!

Does anyone know why so many rides have, and continue, to be closed for "essential maintenance" since the park has opened this year? Saw was closed for nearly a week last month! Surely this should have been completed whilst the park was shut? Apologies for going off topic - just curious...
