  1. It's also for evacuation purposes. You wouldn't want to be walking down the evacuation steps on Infernos lift hill in flip flops. Same goes on most rides!

I'm not sure why it seems to have always been a thing with Thorpe and Chessington where they offer very little transparency as to what is going on. They should just be honest and say "Yeah, it's knackered, would cost £50,000 to fix it up so we're going to get some plans in to demolish it and build a new coaster" which I'd say is the most likely scenario at the moment.

    Logger's Leap

True, but Loggers Leap should have remained open throughout this process. Unless, as I am guessing, the cost of keeping it in a state where it is able to run was too much, so they are just letting it rot whilst making up other plans for the area.

I don't think it's unrealistic to expect the park to at least be doing something with it? The whole thing seems bizarre, you have to ask why they are doing this? I can't think of any obvious reason, so they must have one. I'm sure that it wouldn't be closed unless there is plans or good reason.
  5. Can't really put forward an argument that would be against voting for 'Both' unless you don't like Theming?
  6. Hi Mark, Thanks for this, I had a read of your report from your visit, really helpful alongside this. Was surprised that it'll be busy on Thanksgiving as I thought people would stay at home, but it seems judging from numerous sources online that it gets very busy. Also, paired with the fact travel will be a nightmare then it leaves me with Friday / Saturday, both of which I imagine will be rammed also. Looks like I'll give Disney a miss until I come back after Christmas!
  7. Excellent advice, thanks! I'll certainly be getting that platinum flash pass then as I'll probably do the trip by myself and I'm certainly not one for queuing. I live about a 2 hour train ride from Los Angeles and it looks as though there is a connection from there to Six Flags, will have to look into that a bit more. The only park I've visited outside the UK was Parc Asterix so I'm really looking forward to this now! You've certainly got me buzzed for it. Do you recommend any other parks out here by any chance? I travel around the entire country for work but think I'm out of season for Cedar Point, so that'll have to wait.
  8. Nice one mate. The flash pass worth it? How did you get there?
  9. Yeah it was quite a shame, I was looking after Guest Services for the entire park on certain days which was great. It was the best job I had for sure. I wouldn't be where I am if I didn't work there and I wouldn't be where I am if they didn't sack me either!
  10. So, it's thanksgiving over here in the USA next week and I'm having a couple of days off forced upon me! I was planning to head to Los Angeles to do some shopping, but more importantly it looks like I'll have time to visit this rollercoaster mecca. I've had a read through a few of the reviews on here and also on TripAdvisor and it seems to be a mixed bag really. I'm not expecting an awful lot from it in all honesty I've read that it's dirty, the staff are rude and it's packed full of nobheads. My plan is to purchase the fast pass things which appear to be valid all day for all of the rides! I'll give you a report and try and get some pictures from my visit, but in the meantime if anybody has been and has any advice that'd be sweet Cheers, JD

Would absolutely not put it past me managing to pull this off and I've only just got back ;).
  12. To be fair, rules are rules and they are there for a reason. Main reason being to ensure that staff are not pocketing money whilst they are working. With me not being in a cash handling role, this would have been difficult however.
  13. Looked forward to getting home last night and giving it a go, looks as though my laptop doesn't meet the spec. Should really have checked before buying it, gutted! It managed to boot up, but I could only see the landscape.
  14. I was a huge fan of the RCT series and was disappointing to read really poor reviews for the most recent addition to the series. However, I have come across another game Planet Coaster, by the creators of RCT3 which looks amazing. I've just purchased it and look forward to giving it a play this evening! Has anyone else yet played this? https://www.planetcoaster.com/
  15. Carrying cash. You are not allowed to carry cash on you. I had £200 on me, I did provide them with evidence of an ATM transaction and receipt, but ultimately I broke the rules and that was that. All worked out for the best though!
  16. Hi All, I'm back on here after many, many years for reasons which I shall go on to explain shortly! My name is Jack, I used to work with Marc and Co on Thorpe Park Mania about 10 years ago. I was prone to getting into arguments with the team on occasion and deleting the entire forum. I also worked as a Senior Host in Guest Services for Chessington back when I was 16 and was sacked for carrying cash with me on site (Thank god this happened). So why am I back? Well I now live in the West Coast of the United States (Santa Barbara, California) and I've been thinking about some things to do in my spare time and have had an idea to visit a few Theme Parks across the country and revive an old hobby of mine! I'll be looking for some advice on.. well, pretty much all I can get in terms of where would be best to visit etc and it would all be much appreciated. I know a few of the guys here will be remember me, so will be great to talk again and also speak to some of the newer people also. Thanks, Jack-
