  1. This may just be me but..Is anyone else really finding Saw a pain to ride?I've been on many many rollercoasters in Europe, and Saw is the first one I've been on that I actually dread re-riding. The indoor bit I'm fine with but as soon as that car hits the bottom of the main drop, my head gets knocked left, right and centre no matter what row I'm in. I find so many parts of the ride really painful and un-enjoyable. I've always taken the mick out of Marc in regards to Colossus's headbanging but in my opinion Saw is far more notorious then Colossus. Does anyone find this or is just me?
  2. Well quite, just a few points to bandy about.Numo 1. I'm not really going against what Stealth does. it's clearly built with the simplest in mind. 200 feet, wow, 80 mph, wow. Oh my god, all these huge numbers being bandied about. Will drive you mad! But there is no substance there. Numo 2. "those turn things are bare boring init bruv they dont do no loops or nuffin". They don't say that at the end of Inferno so why would Stealth having a few overbanked hills make people call the ride boring. It seems like crazy logic to me.Numo 3. The general public. Ah you see, they wouldn't know any different, these ignorant little souls. Except they do bang on about this sort of stuff. Queuing 2 hours for an 8 second ride? They think it's bloody madness, and if you think about it, they are totally on the money. Stealth is a great launch coaster but my problems aren't anything to do with the ride itself. What it does, it does well but when you think of what could have been done, and then see what is done it really is the bare minimum that they could get away with. I always think of it like this. In 1998, Tussauds built Oblivion. Now it's only a very good drop into a hole and yet look at that queue-line interaction, the effort put into making it more then just a ride. The stuff added to Stealth such as the Dj doesn't happen anymore.. so Stealth will always scream COULDN'T BE BOTHERED at me.
  3. I personally think Stealth is the most over-rated ride in the UK. There is so much that can be done with the accelerator concept and with the free reign Thorpe had meant they could have done anything they wanted. Instead they stuck with the tried and tested. The problem is striking that balance between an interesting ride and something guests will enjoy. Parks like Miribilanda in Italy and Europa Park are only now really showing that launch rollercoasters have large legs. It's just a shame that Stealth for me will always reek of lazy ride planning.
  4. Are you serious with that comment?
  5. He's still there, posting via phone
  6. Is that before or after you throw in all the other Thorpe downtime
  7. No, it's not alright.

God, as I have said time and time again..SPINNERS ARE NOT A GOOD CHOICE FOR A MAJOR THEME PARK."Every ride has long queues so it doesn't make the slighest bit of difference"Dude, thats so misguided. You don't add a low capacity ride just because it will get an hour queue anyway. You try and add a ride that can eat queues as fast as possible so that people are getting on more things in their day, not just queueing for everything.Spinners also, do not get 800 throughput. Believe me when I say Fury, Spinball and all the rest would not have hour long queues every sodding day if they could get 800 people an hour.
  9. It's not technically true anyway as The Bear Hunt was unavailable for several days last week (I don't even know if it is open now). It never appeared on the website.. therefore Thorpe lie!
  10. In 2003 it used to be on Inferno and ColossusIn 2004 it was moved into Lost City so depending on what rides were ready you could get on Vortex, Quantum, Zodiac and Depth Charge before the park opened. It hasn't been seen at Thorpe since.
  11. Life's not fair, get over it. Instead of bitching about Jade (who by the way, will not be getting any of this money as she seems to be.. erm.. dead), how about actually being thankful that she made the public so much more aware of the dangers of cervical cancer. Something like 25% more went to get themselves checked out then before because of public awareness. That's far more important then the way she went about getting money for her kids.My mum had cancer, if she went public about it who would care.. no one because as Alex has always said, like it or not Jade was a well known, famous person.
  12. Why would people make it up...
  13. Well not really. I've had some astounding rides on Storm, but there is only about two cups that are actually decent, the rest are stiff as anything and barely move. No, if you want to guarantee a decent ride, Maurauders Mayhem at Alton is the better ride with effects and a soundtrack and all the cups spin a hell of a lot.As for Vortex, it's a decent ride and I'll never understand the hate that people have for it these days.

I'd rather have some misguided posts then the bitching that comes from your posts.
  15. Alton Towers 100% of the time had all rides available (Park open for 5 days)Chessington, 100% of the time had all rides available (Park open for 5 days)32% doesn't sound so good now does it...Information obtained from chessington.com and altontowers.com, as well as having worked at Cwoa since open day)
  16. That Rich is bloody awesome at Berries, I agree!(thanks themeparkmad )
  17. Is it sad that the only things I picked up from that was that there are more then two B&M inverters outside of America and that Thorpe Park just defied there own disabled policy.... if they were in fact disabled
  18. Pathetic. Really pathetic and shocking.
  19. And as I have said before SPINNERS DON'T WORKSPinball is next to Oblivion, SPinball always has the longer queueTarantula is next to Abismo, Tarantula always has the longest queueWinjas is next to the whole of Phantasialand, Winjas always have the longest queue.IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MANY RIDES YOU PUT NEXT TO SPINNERS, THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE LONGEST QUEUES BECAUSE OF THEIR LOW THROUGHPUT PER HOUR.
  20. Why did you go against when Staff were asing you to leave for your own safety. Would you say No I'll stand up and you will move it if you were in a burning car..
  21. Hey baby, I'm fine, how are you. When are you next at work?

  22. Spinning rollercoasters, as I've said before, are meant as support rollercoasters but always end up with the longest queues in the park. There is no point adding one.
