Merlin Pass Family & Friends Discount

Matt 236

Question

Hi all,

I'm planning on taking some friends to Thorpe Park & Legoland, and am planning to use the family and friends discount through the Merlin pass.

However, I was wondering how many people maximum you are allowed to use it for as I'm planning to bring two people with me (neither of which are pass holders).

A Merlin Annual Pass entitles the individual pass holder to buy up to five discounted entry tickets for family and friends per individual attraction per visit (excluding Coca-Cola London Eye and any secondary attractions, including but not limited to the Alton Towers Water Park).

Are you talking about the 'share the fun for £10' vouchers that come with the MAP packs?

I don't know of any limitations other than the obvious, but you have to join the everyday minions general admission queue to exchange them for entry tickets, so take that into account when planning the day. Other than having to stand in the queue for 20 minutes it was a breeze to exchange them yesterday and get in.

I don't understand one of the perks.

They advertise London Eye FastTrack access for £7.50 (or whatever it is).  Yet, I just flash my premium pass and I get fast-track access at the eye.

Is the fast-track price as advertised for standard pass holders?

As usual - the website is overly convoluted with "wizard this" and "wizard that" nonsense - but there is no real clear information.

Shhh we had the same (flashed premium pass and girl waved us through the fast track entrance jumping a 90 minute queue), we didn't question it either lol, same a tussards, showed pass to random person on door, got escorted through fast track entrance) and the aquarium (not that we went in there, but the guy told us to use fast track).

Either the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, or, well, I dunno... but I don't correct these things...

Yep, have always been able to go straight in to Tussauds, the London Aquarium and on to the London Eye with our passes.

In fact, I went to the Aquarium and London Eye yesterday and was straight in to both immediately with the pass.

The guy at the Aquarium asked if they were premium passes (we were showing the photo and expiry date side to him) and when we turned them round to show they were he waved us through, so maybe it is only the premium passes they allow to fast-track?
