First time post!

I am coming down from birmingham next Monday to TP and was just looking at the weather which doesn't look too good - scattered thunderstorms etc.

Will this/heavy rain affect many rides? or would they just be closed during and thunderous periods? Don't want to miss out on The Swarm.

Just trying to decide whether or not it will be worth going.

Thanks for your advice!

The only time I've been in weather that was bad enough (torrential rain and thunder which went on to cause power failure problems) to close rides for most of the day, we were given open tickets to return on leaving. That was in early '08 I think.

I've been in horrific rain conditions when everything has remained open, it is only thunder and wind that will regularly close rides, and how long does thunder usually hang around for? High winds are what you really want to avoid as they often stay all day. You should be fine.

At Thorpe Park, the vast majority of rides will continue to run in heavy rain with the exception being Nemesis Inferno & Rumba Rapids which can shut down due to obstruction of the sensors. In the event of a thunderstorm ALL rides and attraction will commence running closedowns due to health and safety. In the event of hail, Stealth will usually shut down to the nature of the ride.
