Chessington World of Adventures - 2011 Meet - 11th April
I thought it was a pretty decent place as there are places to sit whilst people are waiting and... meh I dunno, it just felt right!

Bubbleworks
Well the Fountain Finale scene lighting is much improved from last year, however I still prefer the original lighting program with the strobes. Also various sections of the scene used to pulse different colours to other parts... not like in the video above where the whole room pulses the same colour at once.Elsewhere though- I think this goes to show how emotive music really is at theme parks, whilst there are still bugs (Fairground music isn't looped properly still), it does sound as though the whole atmosphere of the attraction has been lifted. The original ride has such a huge cult following and was so highly regarded amongst enthusiasts, anything done to improve the ride just won't be good enough.Saying that, it's good to see the ride receive some attention and well done to all who made it happen. I believe Bubbleworks is Chessington's "best" ride in regards to guest feedback scores, and with the money spent on this over the closed season, I don't think this ride is going anywhere any time soon.

Fastrack At Chessington
Ohh I didn't know that. Haha oops, sorry! *Facepalm*Yeah I agree. I don't think Truckers should exist in the first place, 200pph is disgraceful, even without fastrack.

Chessington World of Adventures - 2011 Meet - 11th April
Evening everyone! After some interest was shown into a Chessington meet, here are final details about this trip:Date: Monday 11th April.Place: Tomb Blaster Courtyard Time: Between 10:30 and 11 amJust to clarify, Tomb Blaster Courtyard is the area around the Tomb Blaster Exit and by the Fastrack Entrance:I'm sure everyone knew that already, but now there's no excuse. :PAfter everyone has met up, the idea is to spend the whole day with each other, excluding time for lunch, where we may split depending on where individuals want to eat (I'm up for Pizza Pasta... om nom nom).I don't personally like strict itineraries, especially at theme parks where there are so many factors such as queue times, and occasional break downs, the idea is to just go with the flow and enjoy the day with some awesome people. Whilst we cannot force you to stay with the group, we kindly ask you to wait for the group if you do not wish to ride an attraction out of respect for all members attending this meet. Some of us are staying over at the Premier Inn Chessington, the night before, Sunday 10th April. You're more than welcome to book your own room (£17.50 per person, based on 4 people per room) and come and join us in the Monkey Puzzle for a meal. The food in there is absolutely fantastic, plus you'll get to be a geek and look at The Vampire from outside! ;)I assume most people who are interested in this meet know travel information about getting to Chessington. However, if not, please visit National Rail or, ask one of us and we'll be able to help you out with some travel options for you.I'm really looking forward to the day, it should be a great alternative to the Thorpe Park Meets if you've been unable to attend in the past or are unable to attend any future meets this year. This would be a great opportunity if this is your first meet, as it's looking to be a smallish group of people, so if you're nervous, don't worry, come along for the day, we don't bite! :PIf anyone has any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to post here. You can also drop me a PM as well. Benin and Holly9 are also available if you'd rather speak to them. Once we know a definite attendance list, I'll give you my phone number in case of any problems. Please tick if you're attending... ect. See y'all then! Confirmed as Attending http://forum.maniahub.com/meets/confirmed.php?meet_id=110411 Maybe Attendinghttp://forum.maniahub.com/meets/possibly.php?meet_id=110411

TPM CWoA Meet
And what a great way to celebrate your birthday! :PMost people are around your age, possibly a year or two older, so not much difference really. I think the oldest person (who's 100% going) is me and I'm 21 .... but act immature .

Fastrack At Chessington
1000 per hour for RMT? Wishful thinking isn't it? You'd be lucky with 800 on Chessie's one and that's if staff are literally running up and down the platform and guests cooperate for you.

Rainbow Magicland
Haha! Ahh well. I have no idea who or what they are, so I'll bask in my own ignorance and pretend that it was an original idea created for the theme park.

TPM CWoA Meet
Well considering the large majority of people who regularly attend meets are in full time education, then they would have the Easter Holidays off. Travel is better during the week, rather than a weekend and quite a few members who do work, work at the parks, which as we know, is relatively flexible. It seems like a good idea. There's more interest in this than I was expecting. If people are happy with Monday 11th April, then I'll finalise trip details within the next day. It's 3 weeks away today.I'm pretty certain the majority of us are confident with travel details and stuff, if there are members who perhaps want to try their first meet up and are unsure about travel then between us we can provide information. I'm not really one for strict itineraries, much like the London trip; this one will literally be meet up and spend the day with each other.

Bubbleworks
I'm looking forward to riding this at the Chessie meet next month then. It's Mark 9 approved so it must be quite good!

Rainbow Magicland
Mmm. Forget UK, I'd say that's a world competing park based on the creativity and variety of attractions on offer. The best thing for me though, no IP's. Just pure theme park escapism. I need to go to this park before I die.

We now know where that concept art came from! I'm in love with this video... explanation of the creative development of the attraction, courtesy of Candy Holland. Oh my

TPM CWoA Meet
Hey Ellie- if we go on Monday 11 April, here are some suggested train times and journeys:7:24 Reading Arriving at Chessington South at 09:19.You'd change at Clapham Junction and catch the 08:55 service to Chessington South.Or, you could catch the 07:46 Reading train, arriving at Chessing South for 09:49.For this one you'd change at Basingstoke to get the 08:35 train to Clapham Junction and then the 09:25 to Chessington South. These are the same for Tuesday as well. http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/ Find some more that are convenient for you.Completely up to you hun!

Off topic alert....Then why bother investing £18M next year? That's not a small amount of money.

TPM CWoA Meet
This happened once on a meet and hasn't happened since. I did not attend said meet, but I can personally promise you that nobody will leave anyone on this meet if you attend (same for any other members who want to go), I'll make sure of it.On the bigger meets, some people do split off, say, for example, people don't want to do an attraction. They often then re-join the group later on. This is what happened during the London Meet back in December. This is likely to be a small meet though (I can't see any more than 10 people attending, maximum), so we will definitely all be able to stay together.

Great to see a few members are interested. What are people's thoughts about Tuesday 12th April/ Wednesday 13th April? Just over 3 weeks away.

I've been thinking about where best to put this (I have nothing better to do at 4:30am) and decided to put it here. This is for people who were on TPM chat these past few hours. I'm posting this in the hope that you find it uplifting and inspiring. "When you feel the knife stick,And you just can't take it,When you're heart is breaking, yeahYou still won't know what it's like, what it's like:You haven't seen the ghosts that I've seen,You haven't lived enough, to know what it means. To feel the pain in love turned cold,To taste the year before it's over." This woman can explain it better though:

TPM CWoA Meet
Well even if meets are small, it doesn't matter, as long as the people that go enjoy themselves. And if they do enjoy themselves then this will encourage people to come to more meets. Let's be honest, quite a few members who regularly attend meets aren't going to Thorpe tomorrow as they're opting for Chessington instead.

TPM CWoA Meet
Well exactly! People studying for exams- remember you need to take time to let off steam as well. Don't over do it.

TPM CWoA Meet
I've noticed there are no official meets planned for our award winning, "theme park of the year", Chessington.Basically, please post any time period in which you would be interested in attending. If we can get enough interest then it would be a fantastic alternative to the Thorpe meets for some variety.I was thinking of during the Easter break. Yes it'll be busy but I imagine the majority of people will have more chance of attending during this time.Post your views below. I've decided not to make this into a poll, but one could be posted after a general time frame is decided and if there is demand for it. Edit: Trip Date: Monday 11th April. Full details to be announced soon.

Storm Surge
Whilst I agree with the majority of your points Rob, I have such low expectations for effects/ visual aspects to attractions at Thorpe, I find myself not really caring. We have an £18M attraction to look forward to next year, all my attention will be on that and hopefully Storm Surge will be gone by the time a certain 2015 coaster arrives.
