Ah wow, that's gonna look so good with 8 cars going round non stop. I'm really excited for this now and thank you to Freddy for the video and images!
-
I'm glad we've finally been told that the blades will spin no more speculating. So with SAW, will the cars continuously be running, like Spinball/Dragon's Fury?...

The reason there's a lot of fuss over Rush at the moment is because no one knows what's actually being done with it. At the end of the day, Thorpe aren't stupid, they obviously have the intention of opening it during the next few weeks leading up to the main season. Be patient, I'm sure it'll open soon enough.
-
Agreed, the last one was just not great at all. However, I know this is kinda not gonna happen, but it'd be so good if Thorpe were able to screen the 6th film there, like in the Time Voyagers room...still, that's just a thought, I expect people to moan at me over that.
-
Really? Are you completely sure before people start calling you a liar?Don't suppose you managed to get any pics?
-
Although the Colossus queue always seems to be the longest.
-
Again, I completely agree. I really think that they could spend a little money repairing the little things that make a big impact on some of the rides. The gas tank on Tidal Wave, the lack of theming now on Zodiac, the power shower on the rapids...although they might've fixed that. Little things like that really please a lot of people, especially many of us on the forum.
-
Haha, true.Actually, I wonder if they're fixing that on Tidal Wave? It looks a mess just being there the way it is. Hope that gets cleaned too!As for SAW, I'm pretty sure they're gonna 'look after' this ride a lot more. Little things like the blades spinning will make SAW: The Ride what it's meant to be.

Well sorry to dig up an old topic but I thought I'd make a post.I've been on 'Eclipse/Peeking Heights' at Chessington, never went on it at Thorpe. It's not the kind of ride I'd choose to go on at Thorpe Park. But still, my mum, brother and sister went on it when it was at Thorpe and all 3 of them cried. They said it went so high and the pods kept shaking. I can barely remember what it was like at Chessie but still...Rush was definitely a better replacement for Thorpe.
-
I hope they do, it would make the ride seem even more intense. Either way, it's still quite a scary concept, I'm sure many people will duck their heads, as people do with Colossus as it speeds under the shop
-
^^yeah, I noticed that. You was high fiving people as they were going on the ride hey, I suppose it's good for people to have a bit of extra fun at the park that's why they need to employ more people like you instead of the people that look so miserable...

I've seen most of 1, was a bit boring, although I have seen the end...eww.2 was great, well disgustingly great and I've seen most of 3 as well and that seems quite nasty too. Oh yeah, and the woman that gets frozen - that's horrible. Still, I love the films ;)I saw the latest one at the cinema and tbh, it wasn't all that great. The twist to it was good but the deaths were a bit boring, not enough blood I guess...although the last one was rather disgusting

No, you can never tell.My auntie's been diagnosed with cancer, since having a brain tumor removed at the beginning of January. Initially, they thought they'd be able to treat it and things would get better, but the cancer has spread so fast, there's nothing they can do except treat her, which starts tomorrow, and prolong her life for as long as they can. It's really sad and such a horrible and nasty illness. Now, the fact that Jade Goody has it is upsetting, it really does make you think. My mum doesn't like to watch the news when it comes to her or anything like that because her sister has it and there's nothing no one can do. But Jade has asked for a tv show to be made following her progress and whatever else because she wants the problem to be highlighted. It shows that anyone can get it and hopefully will aid people with the chance to be stronger for loved ones who are diagnosed with cancer. At the end of the day, there's nothing anyone can do for my aunt, you just have to sit back and wait for the worse to happen. That, for me, is the hardest thing to do in life. So yeah, I think it's good for Jade Goody to be in the papers and on the news everyday.

I know this is random but Rob, do you/does he work at Thorpe Park? There was a guy working on Zodiac who looked exactly like you/him. And the reason I'm saying you/him is because I'm not sure if Rob is a member

Nothing is worth a queue that length. How is that even possible? Must've been a rather long queue.

Is the Uk Theme Park Industry going down the drain?
Jamie_Hk replied to Will's topic in General Discussion
At the end of the day though, AI doesn't compete with Thorpe at all.Thorpe is Thorpe, that's it.However, for a theme park by the sea, Adventure Island is certainly quite something always a great day whenever you visit the place. -
Exactly, it was worth it though, Colossus was great today
-
The Colossus queue today was an hour and that was long enough. When you think about it, it's crazy at how long people are prepared to queue to ride something for a minute or so.In Stealth's case, 16 seconds. Still, it's worth it, just extremely boring :/
-
True, it's something my dad has always said, sometimes if it's extra busy and they can't handle the queues :? still...It's annoying that most of the rides were down on the first day of opening, especially as testing over the past few days was meant to have been successful :/
-
How did you find out, not that I'm disbelieving you.
-
It seems to me that when rides close down, it's not always genuine. Like sometimes, they just shut for the sake of it. I dunno what I'm saying really, just can't see how the rides were down for such a big part of the day.Still, hope this is all sorted for next week
-
Exactly...like you say, any lower and it'd literally be a head chopper :(Thanks for those pictures btw, it's great to see some with the cars in motion. I'll try and get as many as I can on monday maybe there'll be a few more changes.
-
They'll be announced soon I imagine. There isn't that long left, but yeah, it'll probs be announced within the first week of March.
-
True...well still, this means that the 'first to ride' comp will still stay true to it's name.
-
HAHA, so Thorpe can actually go to lengths like that to advertise their rides? Well in The Sun, it didn't even mention the rides name so that didn't work too well. For testing, it probably will be.
