Their not just any duck but Vampiric Rabid Ducks that can fly and eat your brainsJames just pretends to be scared of the ducks - when he actually very much enjoys it
  2. Everyone loves UK and our attractions - coz loads of people cant afford to go overseas, profits, revenue w/e you call it will increase. As for attractions, Chessie aren't short of attractions, they aren't short of space, they have just got to be careful and tactical when planning for new rides as all their big spaces of land are near the roads and on greenbelt land. Who would have ever though the likes of Oblivion, Nemesis and Air could have been created. And they have worse restrictions than the likes of our Chessie. ;)Merlin are backed by Blackstone who own 50% of Universal Studios Orlando (Is this IOA included or just hotel or just USF park) and who god knows what else. I wouldn't be suprised if Blackstone was some secret goverment organisation - they're that good muhahah

  5. I quite like Billy's Whizzer - I once went on with friends who never went on it before and convienantly forgot to told them that it has squirt cannons - they got wet. I love the water ballon game - quite memorable.Am quite interested in what will happen to Chessie the next couple of years
  6. I meant 14th/15th* which is opening day for Saw - I assume people from these forums will be going on that weekend to ride SAW.
  7. *Tumbleweed* :huh:I won't be coming coz I'm going on holiday on the 18th for two weeks and will need to work like crazy so I'm not too far behind when I get back on March 3rd. But will do Saw trip on March 13/14th.
  8. Pfft - we shall see what 2010 brings - we should do round-about about Summer 2009 if anything amazing is going to happen. Coz they'll make preparations.
  9. So we can assume something big will happen in 2010 - or at least should do

Me thinks that's a bit too personal for TPM :huh:Does anyone notice that Samurai is not open for Ult Chill? But of course, all of YOU lot knew
  11. I feel that since DF in 2004, they have been a lil' stingy but Sealife was a big investment (buying it and all). Alot of my friends who haven't seen sea creatures like I have in Orlando, made quite a big deal out of seeing them. Quite hope they build a new ride or family coaster/water ride soon - just feels a bit empty. Guests dont feel it but we do because we know how often new rides are supposed to be built at top-end parks. On terms of you (Skunky) stating that Chess have alot more land available to them - where? I haven't forgot that alot of the land that Chessie have are on greenbelt - for once I damn enviromental laws . I see land behind the west section where Ramses Revenge and Runaway Train are - north being Hocus Pocus area and south being Beanoland area. Those land behind RR are Chessie land? Greenbelt law protects unused land to make the place more nicer looking. The greenbelt land that Chessie owns, most of it is unreachable to not only to guests but to the public. My point is that if the public walked on the greenbelted land that is owned by Chessie, that would be tresspassing and also illegal. What I don't get is what's the use in greenbelting land that Chessie owns if the public can't enjoy it or walk on it? They should remove (if it ever were possible....ever!) the greenbelt restriction enabling Chessie to use the land for new rides and attractions. A park has to expand if it wants to become bigger. An idea I had was to move the zoo onto the greenbelt land and now the zoo is gone, the land (previously occupied by zoo) would become brown-belt and would allow Chessie to build rides. But then, that wouldn't work because it's difficult to be granted permission since it's on the same side as Vampire - which was mentioned that its rediculously hard to be granted planning permission - so we're stuck. Before anyone says I'm off-topic, I'm not because I'm talking about Chessie's space and that relates to any new water rides. As you need medium-sized spaces to build the likes of water coasters, river rapids, splash battles and bumper boats.
  12. A Rapids or Splash Karts (w/e they're called ) can be built providing its below the nearest treeline and semi built into the ground. I think that it would be the most feasible option because they aren't that tall and would very much compliment the Pirate's Cove area (extension) - since two small rides (despite how well themed they are) by themselves aren't enough. As for fire meeting point, that could be changed. I mean if the park wanted to go to extreme-drastic measures, they could use some greenbelt land for a new picnic area and fire meeting point. But for that go through, permission needs to be granted for the water ride (for example) which might need to be built below land (if needed) and residents would need to agree because some might disagree.Beyond here is a bit hard to explain so bear with me. The last two (free) sizable areas in park that can be used to build things upon, are The Glade (Arena) and The Picnic Area (correct me if I'm wrong) so if Chessie wanted a new picnic area (also fire meeting point) they might have to use some greenbelt land, which isn't in guest-areas.It's just an idea, that I am trying to work out if it would be do-able.
  13. LOL ^ :huh:I still have 7 free tickets on my Magic Pass (believe it or not) which can come in handy if I'm able to use them. And I have money just in case.
  14. A Splash Battle would look good as an additional water ride next to Dragon Falls or even in Translyvania under Vampire. Splash Battles if I'm correct take less work than River Rapids. Splash Battle and Bumper Boats are both interactive water rides and I think that INTERACTIVE-FAMILY rides are a gold mine and a good way forward for Chessie.I understand that CWoA's market is family (finally accepted that) BUT... (I had to say that) it would be nice to see AT LEAST one thrill flat (to complement RR) or a new coaster (in the not-so-distant future) with a thrill element for example, e.g. Dragon's Fury (Immelmann Turn) - which might I add is quite thrilling.Family rides that work well at Chessie: Woodie (noise), Vek Mine Train, Water coaster, Bumper Boats, Splash Battle, Magic Carpet, Vek Mad House/Pandora's Box/River Rapids.I've forgotten, what is stopping Chessie from building a water ride or water coaster/family coaster (partially in ground) on the picnic area? For anyone who has forgotten/mixed up, its the sloping ground to the left-side of Dragon's Fury.

Random Thorpe News:I recently found out that Lost City is not actually an Aztec/Mayan themed area but some kinda of an (Greek) Atlantean Civilisation. But the exciting thing, is that I have official proof:Thorpe Park's 2008 Student Pack:"Lost City, a brand new area in THORPE PARK, opens. The area is an ancient civilisation, once under the sea, now exposed on dry land. The area opens in two phases: "Which would explain how Colossus is a word familiar in Greek mythology and would also explain the Medusa fountain.
  16. Ask Skunky bout the Rapids idea and how it would work. He knows more than I do :rolleyes:Obv not now but in a few years maybe 3-5 possibly as a replacement.
  17. I know what you said, but I meant what kinda of show. I wonder what kinda of show they have planned for The Glade.Beanoland could be used for something major and The Glade (arena) would be good for a special effects show or even for concert peformances. As for Bubbleworks...maybe a madhouse or pandora's box (those havnt been used yet) instead.Love the idea of a rapids ride built under Vampire. As for Vampire I would love to see the ride removed in exchange for a replacement Vekoma 4-seat suspended/B&M Inverted coaster for the increased throughput, it could even have one small inversion (just an idea...zero-g roll) to get children prepared for bigger coasters. It's just an idea so don't bother critizising me.As for water rides, it would be nice to have a splash battle because those in all essence are an interactive family ride and I can see Chessie building a ride like that because it would be very much welcomed.Anyone know the throughput on Splash Battles?I would like to see a water coaster near the picnic area because it would fit in with Pirate's Cove. It's a family ride that combines family coaster elements with some nice splashes. And they don't have to be that high and don't make loads of noise unlike wooden coasters. But with woodies, there are somethings that can be done to reduce noise as we all know. Either SB or Watercoaster would be good imo.
  18. I wonder what they have planned for the Glade. As for Runaway Train area, a Woodie should be a priority coz it quite defines a family coaster. And it appeals to everyone imoObv I don't know IMOE (In my own eyes - Let's see if it catches on ) how much land they have but I was told that there is a nice bit of land big enough. As for the waveswinger, that can easily be located to another part of park. Unlike a coaster which would have to be gotten rid of. I always thought a wave swinger themed to skeleton & bones would be nice.
  19. There are two major places that I've noticed and I don't even work in R&A. If I did I would probs know a lot more, but I dont :oPicnic area by Dragon's FuryThe Glade behind Dragon FallsThere's also Beanoland, which don't have any major rides and sponsership (correct me) runs out this year. Not forgetting, Dragon Falls is very old and takes up a lot more room than normal log flumes. I would love to see a proper rapids ride and a vekoma mine coaster. The Runaway Train is very old and could easily be removed to make place for e.g. a Woodie.Obv the rides guys know more so feel free to add or correct me

Rant://I love TPM. There are many "intelligent" conversations about why this happens and what that happens. Then there are conversations that "I love" about why rides break down and how people think that the ride staff of that respective park (and ride) are on purposely trying to not have that ride up and running and in turn annoy the public.I also love TPM for the fact that some of the younger generation on the forums have no vague idea of how we seem to know sooooooo much about the rides even though we have said for f* long that we work at/or know ppl who work at the park. In addition, I never get tired of watching people read about something and it goes through one ear and out the other.I love the fact that me and others have to keep telling people that there is no favoritism or sexism and that people can have their say and say what they want as long as it is within reason and is phrased in the proper and appropiate way. And you would honestly and seriously think for one god damn second that people on here would realised that everyone is treated in the same way as others.Maybe if oh...let me think if someone were to evaluate the way phrased their posts and were to think about it and if its relevant and if its appropiate before posting maybe JUST maybe they'd be taken a bit more seriously and with an ounce more respect. I used to be a tad bit bad but this is worse.*This post was made with 10% brain power and an sprig of sarcasm. Enjoy!Carlsberg don't make rant posts but if they did, they would be the best in the world.----------Yeh, I understand what you say (Peter) and anyone here if they saw her (the real her) they'd report it. But finding Maddy is like doing an adult version of Where's Wally but this time with 100% more content. I mean trying finding a lost child in somewhere like China, you might've as well give up. With that said, finding a child which could be anyway in the world with many girls that look like her. Reference to girl found that looked near-identical but however not.
  23. Random Idea: We should be able to vote people off this forum. Hint Hint :mellow:In otherwords, the themeing looks amazing, really saw-style. If all the themeing is as good as this, an amazing themed ride.
  24. That map is so crap:Colossus is where XNWO is on the map and its supposed to be the otherway round.
